Arrests

Gregory Allen Carlson, 32, of Iowa City, was arrested Monday night in the 20 block of Lincoln Street in Iowa City on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under suspension.

Robert Leeroy Smithburg, 48, of Delta, was arrested Monday night in the 100 block of West Third Street in Delta on a warrant for failure to appear for mittimus on an original charge of driving while barred.

 

Traffic stop serious

Andre Dwayne Kinlow, 40, of Washington, was cited Monday night in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington for driving under suspension and no proof of insurance.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 1900 block of 250th Street in Washington reported Monday morning a Craig’s List posting with her address and phone number that she did not post. The caller had a suspect. The incident was documented.

A fraud was reported Monday afternoon at 40 Linden Lane in Washington. A caller reported that a money transfer resulted in a $1,800 loss. Officers will look into the situation. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A purse was reported stolen Sunday morning in the 500 block of Highway 1 in Washington. The purse was later located, but a cellphone and driver’s license were missing.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $20 was reported Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The subject returned and paid.

Two battery chargers were reported stolen Sunday evening in the 2700 block of Havre Lane in Washington. Officers responded. The items might have been accidentally removed during a civil stand-by. The incident was documented.

 

Vandalism

A garage door was reported vandalized Saturday night in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A car was reportedly keyed Monday afternoon in the 500 block of West Third Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

Damage was reported to a vehicle parked in the 500 block of North D Avenue in Washington Monday evening. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A subject was reported being a nuisance Saturday afternoon in the 500 block of C Avenue in Kalona. Officers were advised.

A caller in the 900 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington reported Sunday evening that her landlord had been harassing her over a situation with the residence. Officers spoke with the landlord.

A caller in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington reported Monday afternoon someone had tapped into his phone and was listening to his calls and reading his text messages. Officers spoke with the caller and attempted to contact a suspect. The incident was documented.

 

Disorderly conduct

A possible dispute was reported Saturday evening in the 900 block of East Second Street in Washington. The parties were separated.

 

Public intox

A subject was reported staggering around a neighborhood in the 800 block of First Place in Kalona Friday evening. Officers were unable to locate.

A subject was reported in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside Saturday night and was very intoxicated. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Prowlers

A caller in the 10 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington reported Monday afternoon someone looking in their windows. Officers spoke with the caller.

 

Animal complaints

A dog reportedly attacked a subject Saturday afternoon in the 500 block of Highway 1 in Washington. The subject was bleeding from her head and the dog was contained. Officers and Washington County Ambulance responded. The subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Officers advised the subject wasn’t attacked but had been playing with the dog and gotten bit. The dog was up to date on its shots.

A subject was reported in the emergency room Sunday morning after a dog bit him the previous night in the 1600 block of Highway 92 in West Chester. Officers responded. A dog bite form was filled out. The dog was quarantined.

A bat was reported in a residence in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington Monday morning. Officers responded. The problem was resolved.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Saturday morning in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington. Officers responded. The music was turned down on arrival. The incident was documented.

Subjects were reported being loud Saturday morning in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A loud explosive was reportedly shot off Sunday night in the 1000 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate anything.

Loud music was reported Monday afternoon in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington. This was an ongoing problem. Officers responded. A written warning was given.

 

All other offenses

An officer was requested Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington for a belligerent student. Officers responded. The student went home with her father.

A caller in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported Friday afternoon wanting her dog back from a subject. Officers responded. The issue was resolved.

A bike was reported found Saturday morning in the 600 block of West Third Street in Washington. It was taken to the bike shed.

A caller in the 2700 block of Havre Lane in Washington reported Saturday night someone might be in her house through a garage window. Officers responded. Unfounded.

A caller in the 1400 block of Fir Avenue in Wellman reported Sunday afternoon her roommate would not allow her to leave the apartment. The subject had no ties to the residence. The subject left.

 

Family offense non violent

A deputy was requested Saturday afternoon in the 900 block of West Second Street in Kalona regarding a family issue. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A search warrant was executed Monday morning in the 300 block of C Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded.

Suspicious activities

A suspicious vehicle was reported Friday afternoon in the 2500 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Officers spoke with the subjects, who were under the bridge fishing for bait. They moved the vehicle.

A caller in the 1300 block of North Second Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon that a subject kept calling her from an unknown number and talking inappropriately. Officers spoke with the subject. He was in Washington, D.C. and advised to stop making inappropriate calls.

A subject was reported dressed all in black and was skateboard northbound at E Avenue and Highway 1 in Kalona Friday evening. Officers responded. No problem.

A caller in the 2500 block of Underwood Avenue in Ainsworth requested extra patrol Monday afternoon due to threats made to her from her brother. The incident was documented.

An officer was requested Monday afternoon in the 200 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington in reference to suspicious activity. Officers spoke with all parties involved. The parties will handle it themselves.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 300 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon taking a vehicle for a test drive at noon and not returning. Officers spoke with the caller. It was a civil matter. Officers later located the vehicle and the driver was arrested for driving under suspension.
