Arrests

Denise Marie Schuster, 41, of Washington, was arrested Friday night in the 100 block of Lake Darling road in Brighton for theft.

William Lyle Morgan, 25, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 900 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington for criminal mischief and violating an order of protection.

 

Traffic accidents

A car accident was reported Friday afternoon at Highway 1 and 220th Street in Washington. Officers responded. The vehicles were gone on arrival. The incident was documented.

A single vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon at Highway 218 and 296th Street in Crawfordsville. Officers, Iowa State Patrol, Washington County Ambulance, Crawfordsville Fire, Crawfordsville QRS and Washington County Rescue responded. Under $1,500 damage was reported.

A vehicle accident was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1500 block of Yarrow Boulevard in Brighton. Brighton QRS responded.

An accident was reported Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington. Information was exchanged.

A vehicle accident was reported Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of Lake Darling Road in Brighton. Information was exchanged. The incident was documented.

 

Traffic stop serious

Amy Lea Holbrock, 42, of Iowa City, was cited Monday morning at East Columbus Street and North Pine Street in Crawfordsville for driving under suspension.

 

Disabled vehicles

A vehicle was reported sitting in the 900 block of East Third Street in Washington Friday afternoon with a flat tire and it had been there since June. On arrival, the subjects were in the process of changing the tire.

 

Traffic other

Subjects were reported skateboarding Friday evening at First Avenue and South Sixth Street in Kalona. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

Three subjects were reported Friday evening on bikes at First Avenue and South Sixth Street in Kalona causing a traffic hazard. Officers were advised.

A vehicle was reported driving at a high rate of speed Saturday evening in the 400 block of South Sixth Avenue in Washington. Officers contacted the registered owner.

A vehicle was reported parked in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington Sunday afternoon and it had been there for a week. Officers responded.

 

Fire calls

A fire alarm was reported Friday morning in the 600 block of East Polk Street in Washington. It was a false alarm.

A grill was reported on fire Friday afternoon at North B Avenue and West Third Street in Washington. Officers responded. It was a portable burn pit. No problem.

A field fire was reported Saturday afternoon at Orange and Johnson Washington Road in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished.

A fire alarm was reported Saturday afternoon in the 500 block of North 12th Avenue in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded. It was a false alarm.

Sexual child abuse

A caller reported Friday afternoon his son was sexually assaulted about five years ago when his son was 10 years old. The incident is under investigation.

A possible sexual assault was reported Sunday afternoon in Washington County. Officers spoke with the caller.

 

Assault

A caller in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported Sunday night that a subject assaulted his 16-year-old son. Report will be forwarded to the county attorney for possible child endangerment charges.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

An officer reported Saturday morning being out with a vehicle in the 900 block of West Fifth Street in Washington. Charges are pending lab results.

A vehicle stop was reported Monday morning at South Marion Avenue and West Madison Street in Washington. Charges are pending lab results.

 

Shoplifting

A subject reportedly took an item Friday afternoon in the 200 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Officers were requested to speak with them. Three juveniles fled the area.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 800 block of Oak Street in Ainsworth reported Friday afternoon an insurance company had taken $724 from her bank account. Officers spoke with the caller, who contacted the company. They will reimburse her.

 

Vandalism

Juveniles on an ATV were reported Friday afternoon in the 1200 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A light was reported broken out Saturday morning in the 2800 block of 200th Street in Ainsworth. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

Two solar lights were reported missing and a third was damaged Sunday afternoon in the 3200 block of 140th Street in Riverside. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 1600 block of North Second Avenue in Washington reported Friday evening subjects were harassing her. Officers responded.

A caller in the 200 block of West Main Street in Brighton reported Saturday afternoon that a subject was yelling at him. Officers spoke with the subject.

A subject was reported in the 400 block of East Third Street in Washington driving by and causing problems. Officers spoke with the subject.

A caller in the 1000 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported Sunday night a subject was threatening her son. Officers responded.

 

Disorderly conduct

A subject was reported throwing a fit Saturday night in the 300 block of Fourth Street in Wellman and threatening to kill the caller. Officers responded.

 

Trespass

A caller in the 2300 block of Akelana Drive in Kalona reported Sunday afternoon a subject was on her property without permission. It was a civil issue.

A caller in the 1400 block of Iowa River Road in Riverside reported Sunday afternoon someone was trespassing on her property. The incident was documented.

 

Animal complaint

A loose dog was reported Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of East Tyler Street in Washington. The owner retrieved the dog.

 

All other offenses

A gas drive-off was reported Saturday morning in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate. The subject had actually paid before pumping gas.

Subjects were reported going door to door Sunday afternoon in the 2800 block of 130th Street in Riverside. The incident was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

A suspicious subject was reported hanging out in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington Friday morning. Officers were unable to locate.

Two suspicious subjects were reported Friday afternoon in the 800 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.

An alarm was reported going off Saturday night in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A caller reported Sunday evening a subject at North Ella Street and Blackberry Avenue in Riverside had offered his 16-year-old son a beer. Officers responded.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Saturday night on a subject in the 1100 block of East Second Street in Washington. Officers responded.

Yelling and screaming were reported Sunday morning in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. No problem.
