Arrests

Robert Allen Perry, 32, of Washington, was arrested Monday night in the 1600 block of North Highland Avenue in Washington for public intoxication.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle reportedly hit a parked vehicle Monday afternoon in the 100 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was reported driving in the 100 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington Monday afternoon and the driver and passenger both had their doors open and their feet hanging out of the car while spraying stuff on vehicles and pavement behind them. Officers spoke with the driver and his father. The driver was counseled. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reported speeding up and down East Van Buren Street at South Sixth Avenue in Washington Monday evening. Officers spoke with the subjects. Verbal warnings were given.

 

All other thefts

Two veterans’ grave markers were reported stolen from West Chester Cemetery in the 2100 block of Hemlock Avenue in West Chester Monday afternoon. The incident was documented.

Lawn chairs were reported stolen Monday evening in the 1500 block of North Highland Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1800 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported Monday evening that he was in a verbal argument with his girlfriend and she left with his dog. Officers spoke with the caller and left a message for the girlfriend to call in.

A caller in the 2700 block of East Trio Lane in Washington reported Monday evening that someone was using their credit card information. The incident was documented. There is a pending $121 charge for a bus ticket.

 

Vandalism

The driver’s side window of a truck was reported broken out Monday morning in the 700 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. Damage was possibly due to a neighbor who was mowing in the area.

Vandalism was reported to carts Monday afternoon in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 700 block of East Third Street in Washington reported Monday evening that a group of juveniles were yelling at her daughter and her boyfriend. Officers spoke with all parties.

 

Illegal dumping

A subject reportedly threw litter into the yard of a residence in the 500 block of West Main Street in Washington. It is an ongoing problem. Officers spoke with the subject’s mother.

 

Animal complaints

A caller reported Monday afternoon witnessing a motorist strike a deer with their vehicle at First Street and Highway 22 in Kalona. The caller requested a deer tag.

A caller in the 700 block of East Main Street in Washington reported Monday evening that while she was sitting on her back patio a subject came up from behind and was calling for her loose puppy. Officers spoke with the subject.

 

All other offenses

A gas drive-off was reported Saturday morning in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate. The subject had actually paid before pumping gas.

Subjects were reported going door to door Sunday afternoon in the 2800 block of 130th Street in Riverside. The incident was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

A suspicious subject was reported hanging out in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington Friday morning. Officers were unable to locate.

Two suspicious subjects were reported Friday afternoon in the 800 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.

An alarm was reported going off Saturday night in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A caller reported Sunday evening a subject at North Ella Street and Blackberry Avenue in Riverside had offered his 16-year-old son a beer. Officers responded.

An officer was requested Monday afternoon in the 800 block of West Monroe Street in Washington in reference to suspicious activity. The incident was documented.

Possible fireworks or shots were reported Monday evening in the 400 block of J Avenue in Kalona. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Runaway/missing persons

A caller in the 400 block of East 10th Street in Washington reported Monday morning that a subject had left Friday night in an SUV. Officers attempted to locate. The incident was documented.

 

Civil dispute

A verbal argument was reported Monday night in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. The parties were separated.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Saturday night on a subject in the 1100 block of East Second Street in Washington. Officers responded.

Yelling and screaming were reported Sunday morning in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. No problem.
