Arrests

Eric William Harris, 20, of Kalona, was arrested Friday morning 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington for failure to appear for show cause on possession of a controlled substance.

Maurice Jones, 46, of Washington, was arrested Friday evening in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington for public intoxication.

Michelle Nicole McCune, 28, of Davenport, was arrested Saturday morning at Highways 218 and 22 in Riverside for probation violation on forgery.

Mikeal Good, 32, of Wayland, was arrested Saturday morning in the 500 block of East Madison Street in Brighton for violation of sex offender registry.

John David Harrill Jr., 41, of Washington, was arrested Saturday night in the 100 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington for domestic abuse assault.

William Joseph Wheeler Jr., 22, of Washington, was arrested Saturday night at Wayland Road and 275th Street in Washington for OWI.

 

Traffic accidents

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday morning in the 600 block of E Avenue in Kalona. Mary Linnell of Riverside was cited for following too closely accident related.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday morning at Highway 218 in Riverside. Officers responded.

A vehicle reportedly ran into a building Saturday afternoon in the 100 block of East Main Street in Washington. Craig Morgan, 77, of Richland, was cited for failure to maintain control.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday night in the 1800 block of Highway 218 in Riverside. Officers were advised.

A vehicle was reported in the ditch at Spruce Avenue and Highway 92 in Ainsworth Sunday morning. Officers responded. The driver had fallen asleep. The vehicle was towed.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Sunday evening in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

 

Traffic other

A red cargo trailer was reported parked in the 200 block of South D Avenue in Washington Friday afternoon and it had been there several days. Officers responded.

A vehicle in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington was reported damaged Saturday night. The incident was documented. Information was exchanged.

A vehicle was reported sitting at the end of the caller’s driveway in the 1900 block of 240th Street in Washington Sunday morning. Officers placed a tow tag on it.

 

Assault

Richard Dean Jones, 59, of Washington, was cited into court Saturday night in the 2700 block of Havre lane in Washington for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A domestic altercation was reported Sunday morning in the 100 block of West Columbus Street in Crawfordsville. Officers responded. The parties were separated.

 

Burglary

A caller reported Sunday evening his residence in the 700 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington was broken into while his family was away for the weekend. Officers responded.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 200 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth reported Saturday afternoon being scammed by an online loan company. Officers spoke with the caller. She was advised to contact the Federal Trade Commission. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 500 block of 14th Street in Wellman reported Sunday morning his parents had been scammed out of money. Officers spoke with the caller, who was given the number for the Federal Trade Commission. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A gas drive-off in the amount of $20.01 was reported Friday afternoon in the 100 block of First Street in Kalona Friday afternoon.

A caller in the 100 block of Fifth Street in Kalona reported Sunday morning that a subject ordered a pair of shoes online in the caller’s name and picked them up from her home. Officers spoke with the caller. It was a civil issue.

 

Vandalism

Someone reportedly vandalized the back book drop Sunday evening in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona reported Sunday night that someone wrote words on her vehicle. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington reported Sunday evening that a subject left him three voicemails stating she was going to destroy his property. Officers responded.

 

Trespass

A caller in the 1200 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported Sunday afternoon his neighbor backed his boat in and come onto his property. Officers responded.

 

Animal complaints

A caller in the 2100 block of Yucca Avenue in Ainsworth reported Saturday morning that her boyfriend’s pit bull attacked her friend’s dog. Officers attempted to contact the owner.

A welfare check was requested Saturday evening on a pony in the 1700 block of Spruce Avenue in Riverside that appears neglected. Officers responded and left a message for the owner.

 

Tobacco violations

Alexander Skovgard, 15, and Darren Rickheim, 17, both of Crawfordsville, were cited Friday night in the 200 block of South Main Street in Crawfordville for possession of tobacco under the legal age.

 

DP&Q

A loud party was reported Saturday evening in the 2700 block of Coppock Road in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A subject reportedly forced entry into a building in the 800 block of West Monroe Street in Washington Friday morning. Charges are pending for criminal trespass.

A caller reported Friday morning finding a bike in Sunset Park in Washington. The caller had taken the bike home and forgotten to turn it in. Officers responded. The bike was taken to the bike shed.

A caller in the 300 block of East Seventh Street in Washington reported Friday evening her son was out-of-control. Officers responded. The child was counseled.

A caller in the 600 block of West Monroe Street in Washington reported Friday evening losing her wallet.

Two subjects were reported fishing off the bridge on Wayland Road in Wayland. A caller reported almost striking them and seeing beer cans lying on the bridge. Officers were unable to locate.

A caller in the 2500 block of Redwood Avenue in Washington reported Sunday afternoon that a crop duster had flown over and misted chemicals all over them, their property and their animals. The caller is going to make contact with the Department of Agriculture, as this has happened before.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller reported Saturday afternoon that her 17-year-old daughter was missing. Officers responded. The juvenile was located and returned to her mother.

 

Suspicious activity

A subject was reported climbing the water tower at North Pine and Wyman in Crawfordsville Friday night. Officers were unable to locate.

Lights were reported on inside a building in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington Sunday night. Officers responded.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 2600 block of Nutmeg Avenue in Washington reported Sunday afternoon that a subject had not mowed the property for over a month and refused to return the mower keys. Officers spoke with all parties. The caller was advised to obtain a stay order.

 

Public service contact

Two subjects reportedly tried to flag down the caller Sunday morning at 190th and Dogwood in Keota. Officers located the subjects who were taking gas to a friend who ran out.
