David Sebastian Riness, 20, of Brighton, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 200 block of South Farmer Street in Brighton for second-degree arson, possession of an incendiary/explosive device with intent to use, criminal mischief and reckless use of fire/explosives.
Two vehicles reportedly pulled into the police department after being in an accident at East Jefferson and South Second Avenue in Washington. Damage was under $1,500. Information was exchanged.
A driver reportedly lost control Monday evening in the 1400 block of Dogwood Avenue in Wellman due to weather-related road conditions. Over $1,500 damage was reported. The caller reported her car was in the creek at Smith Creek Bridge. She was uninjured and out of the vehicle.
A vehicle was reported in the roadway Monday morning at Ginkgo and 105th Street in Wellman. The vehicle was marked with orange tape.
A possible sexual assault in August 2013 was reported Monday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington. The incident was documented.
A house fire was reported Monday afternoon in the 3000 block of Fir Avenue in Brighton. Brighton Fire, Richland Fire and Washington Fire responded. Alliant Energy was contacted.
A caller reported Tuesday morning that a subject punched him in the face in the 900 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. Verbal only.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $25.05 was reported Monday morning in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington. The incident was documented.
A student reportedly made threats toward staff Monday afternoon in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. Information will be forwarded to the county attorney for review and possible charges.
A caller in the 800 block of North Eighth Avenue in Washington reported Monday evening being harassed. The subjects were advised to stay away from each other.
A bat was reported in a residence in the 1500 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman Monday afternoon. Officers were unable to locate.
