Arrests

Jameson Walter Reed, 25, of Washington, was arrested Saturday morning in the 2600 block of Quince Avenue in Washington for assault causing bodily harm and harassment.

Jay Thomas Santana, 44, of Columbus City, was arrested Saturday morning in the 1300 block of East Washington Street in Washington for fraudulent use of a credit card.

Arthur Dean Hultquist, 42, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington for domestic abuse – simple assault.

Jordan Scott Yoder, 20, of Wellman, was arrested Sunday morning in the 1300 block of Fir Avenue in Wellman for assault.

 

Traffic accidents

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday morning in the 200 block of North Second Avenue in Washington. One vehicle backed into another. Information was exchanged.

A caller reported Friday afternoon that his daughter rolled her vehicle in the 2600 block of 240th Street in Washington. She had been transported by private vehicle to the Washington County Hospital. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday afternoon in the 3100 block of Highway 1 in Brighton. Officers responded and issued a deer tag.

A deer reportedly ran into the side of a vehicle in the 1800 block of Highway 218 in Riverside Friday afternoon. The incident was documented.

A caller reported hitting a deer in the 2700 block of Quince Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday afternoon at North Highway 218 and 175th Street in Riverside. Officers responded.

A traffic accident was reported Saturday evening at Highway 22 and Seventh Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

A rollover accident was reported Saturday night at 480th Street S.W. and Cosgrove Road in Kalona. Kalona Fire, Kalona First Responders and Kalona Rescue responded.

A deer reportedly ran into the back of a vehicle Sunday morning at 220th and Redwood in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Sunday night that his wife struck a deer in the 3100 block of Elm Avenue in Brighton. Officers were advised.

A semi vs. deer accident was reported Sunday night in the 2600 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth. Officers responded.  The incident was documented.

 

Traffic other

A caller in the 700 block of South Third Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon that her ex-boyfriend had been harassing her all day and had driven past her house at a high rate of speed. Extra patrols were given.

A semi was reported parked in the 300 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington. Officers responded. The vehicle was parked legally.

An erratic driver was reported Sunday afternoon at Highway 218 and 287th in Crawfordsville. Officers spoke with the driver.

 

Fire calls

A washing machine reportedly had smoke coming from it Friday morning in the 900 block of First Street in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department responded. No fire.

 

Drug/narcotics violations

Drug activity was reported Saturday evening in the City of Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Motor vehicle thefts

A caller in the 1300 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported Friday morning that she gave a subject permission to use her vehicle and she wanted the vehicle taken to a residence in Keota. She reported the vehicle was not at the residence. The incident was documented.

 

Burglary

A residence in the 1800 block of 180th Street in West Chester was reported burglarized Saturday evening. Officers responded. No burglary occurred.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington requested documentation Friday morning of Internet fraud. Someone reportedly used the caller’s debit card to make purchases. The incident was documented.

A deputy was requested Friday afternoon in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside regarding a fake check for $67. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A possible theft was reported Friday morning in the 600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $20.02 was reported Friday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $98.97 was reported Sunday afternoon in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth. The subject later returned and paid.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 40 block of East Second Street in Riverside reported Friday evening that her soon-to-be ex-husband hacked into her e-mail account and forwarded e-mails from it. The subject was advised to get a no-contact order.

A subject reportedly threatened the caller’s daughter in Central Park in Washington. Officers attempted to locate the other party.

 

Trespass

A caller reported Saturday morning that she and her associates were being harassed in the 2400 block of Highway 92. Officers responded. Subject was banned.

Canadian Pacific Railroad reported Saturday afternoon that subjects in a deer stand west of Elm and Railroad in Brighton may have been on railroad property. Officers responded. The subject was legally hunting on his own property.

 

Animal complaints

A barking dog was reported Friday night in the 800 block of First Place in Kalona. Officers responded. No one was home.

A loose dog was reported Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded.

A large dog was reported running loose Saturday afternoon in the 900 block of First Street in Kalona. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Saturday night in the 400 block of East Main Street in Brighton. Officers responded.

A loose dog was reportedly in the caller’s backyard in the 800 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington harassing the caller’s dog. Officers responded. The dog was taken to the pound.

 

DP&Q

Loud banging and screaming were reported Saturday morning in the 20 block of East First Street in Riverside. Officers were unable to locate.

Loud music was reported Saturday morning in the 700 block of East Second Street in Washington. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Saturday morning in the 10 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Saturday evening in the 300 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Curfew/loitering/vagrancy

A subject was reported in the 900 block of South Iowa Avenue banging on doors Saturday night. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other offenses

A deputy was requested Friday afternoon to respond to a call from a subject in the 1000 block of East Washington Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A subject was reported in the 400 block of West Madison Street in Washington Sunday night with an unknown problem. Officers responded. There was a suspicious vehicle in his driveway.

 

Suspicious activity

An officer was requested Friday morning in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington in reference to a suspicious phone call. The incident is under investigation.

A subject was reported in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington asking suspicious questions. Officers were unable to locate.

Someone was reported trying to enter a residence in the 90 block of North Washington Street in Riverside Friday night. Officers responded.

The front door of a building was reported open Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of North 12th Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A dead deer was reportedly propped up in the 2100 block of Hemlock in West Chester Sunday afternoon. The incident was documented.

An alarm was reported going off Sunday evening in the 1200 block of Highway 1 in Kalona. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 100 block of North Second Avenue in Washington reported Friday morning that his wife was supposed to be home an hour earlier and hadn’t returned. Officers spoke with the caller. The caller later made contact with his wife.

 

Welfare check

A subject in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported Friday afternoon that they couldn’t make contact with a parent to pick up a child. Officers contacted the mother. The incident was documented.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington reported Sunday morning he had been working on a subject’s 4-wheeler since February or March and the caller couldn’t make contact with the subject. Officers will attempt to contact the other subject.
