Traffic accidents

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Thursday morning at 130th Street and Highway 1 in Kalona. The driver continued on, however had front-end damage to her vehicle. Officers couldn’t locate the deer.

A caller in the 200 block of East Fifth Street in Washington reported Thursday afternoon that his truck had been struck sometime in the last few days. The incident was documented.

 

Assault

Two subjects were reportedly assaulting each other Thursday evening in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other thefts

A gas drive-off in the amount of  $10.01 was reported Thursday morning in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. The complainant advised he was able to contact the other party, who returned and paid.

A caller in the 900 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington reported Thursday evening that a subject had taken his month. Officers responded. The caller will advise when the subject returns.

 

Vandalism

Vandalism was reported to a vehicle in the 200 block of East Fifth Street in Washington Thursday afternoon. The vehicle had a flat tire the repair shop advised had been cut with a knife. The incident was documented.

 

Animal complaint

A puppy was reported outside Thursday afternoon in the 600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington with no food, water or proper shelter. A subject picked up the dog and will care for it until the owner can retrieve it.

A dog reportedly had been outside all day long Thursday evening in the 200 block of Second Street in Ainsworth. The caller reported being able to see the dog’s ribs and it did not appear there was any food or water. Officers responded. A note was left for the owner to contact the officer.

 

Family offense non violent

A subject was reported at a residence in the 20 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington Thursday night and was intoxicated. The caller had locked the subject out of the residence. Officers responded. The parties were separated.
