Michael Robert Vesely, 24, of Iowa City, was arrested Friday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for failure to appear for arraignment on OWI.
Trent Joseph Sturms, 34, of Burlington, was arrested Friday afternoon at Vine Avenue and Highway 92 in Ainsworth on a Burlington warrant for OWI.
Jerry Darnell Walker, 18, of Washington, was arrested Saturday morning in the 200 block of West Second Street in Washington on a warrant for failure to appear for show cause on possession of a controlled substance.
Jerry Ray Sparks, 23, of Washington, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 20 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington for failure to appear reference child support, failure to appear for contempt or hearing bond and on a Polk County warrant with statewide pickup.
Robert Gatewood, 25, of Wellman, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 1800 block of Highway 22 in Wellman for operating while intoxicated, child endangerment, operating an unregistered vehicle, no proof of insurance, failure to maintain control and no driver’s license.
Myles Coppes, 21, of Kalona, was arrested Saturday night at Highway 22 and Seventh Street in Kalona for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending for OWI.
Terry Lee Douglas III, 27, of Burlington, was arrested Sunday afternoon on Highway 218 in Ainsworth for driving under suspension, failure to have SR insurance and unsafe approach to certain stationary vehicles.
A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Over $1,500 damage was reported. McKenna Durian of Washington was cited for failure to yield entering a through highway.
A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday evening in the 3100 block of 160th Street in Riverside. The incident was documented.
A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday morning in the 3300 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.
A caller reported Saturday morning that she was in a ditch and had hit her head on a steering wheel at Riverside Road and 180th Street in Riverside. Washington County Ambulance, Riverside QRS and officers responded. One subject was transported to the Washington County Hospital and Clinics.
A vehicle reportedly hit a guardrail Saturday afternoon in the 1800 block of Highway 22 in Wellman. Washington County Ambulance, Wellman QRS, Wellman Rescue, Wellman Fire and officers responded.
Kalona Fire and Kalona QRS were requested Sunday morning for a vehicle rollover at Angle Road SW and 540th Street in Kalona. One person was reported trapped in the vehicle.
A truck reportedly went into the ditch Sunday afternoon at Highway 218 and 287th Street in Crawfordsville. The vehicle was towed. Over $1,500 damage was reported.
Traffic stop serious
Thomas Michael Peat, 68, of Washington, was cited into court for driving under suspension.
A vehicle was reported Saturday morning in the 100 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington that hadn’t moved since the last snow. The vehicle was towed.
A wrecker was requested Sunday morning in the 300 block of West Third Street in Washington for an overdue vehicle. The vehicle was towed.
A vehicle was reported Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of East Main Street that had not moved since the last snow. The vehicle was towed.
Smoke was reported coming from a residence in the 200 block of Highway 92 in West Chester. Wellman Fire, Wellman QRS, Washington County Rescue, Washington County Ambulance, Keota Fire, Washington Fire, Kalona Fire, Sigourney Fire and officers responded. The Red Cross was notified.
A caller in the 1100 block of Seventh Street in Wellman reported Friday afternoon that a family member had attempted to stab her husband with a knife. No injuries occurred. Officers responded. The parties wished to resolve the conflict on their own. DHS was contacted.
Motor vehicle theft
A UHaul was reported stolen Saturday morning in the 800 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.
A vehicle was reported stolen Sunday night in the 200 block of Cedar Street in West Chester. The vehicle was later located. No damage was reported. The incident was documented.
All other thefts
A gas drive-off in the amount of $10 was reported Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington.
A caller in the 1100 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington reported damage to her mailbox Saturday afternoon. The incident was documented.
Several mailboxes were reported knocked over Sunday evening in the 900 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona requested an officer Friday morning to tell his son’s mother that she was not allowed on his property. Officers spoke with both subjects.
A caller in the 500 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Sunday night a subject had parked her vehicle in his driveway and she was not welcome at his residence. Officers responded. The owner was contacted to remove the vehicle.
Liquor law violations
A possible underage drinking party was reported Saturday night in the 1100 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded. Two juveniles ran inside and refused to open the door.
A dog was reported Friday morning in the 700 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington with limited shelter, no bedding and was howling. Officers responded and spoke with the owner.
An injured deer was reported Friday evening in the 3100 block of Highway 1 in Brighton. The caller removed the deer from the roadway. Officers were advised.
Loud music was reported Sunday morning in the 600 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. No loud music was found.
All other offenses
Subjects were reported driving their truck down a dirt road at Juniper and 230th in Washington. They had caused damage to the road, the ditch and the neighbor’s field. Officers were unable to locate.
A bike was reported found Saturday afternoon in the 600 block of West Madison Street in Washington. It was taken to the bike shed.
Family offense non violent
Subjects were reported fighting Saturday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Officers responded. Verbal only.
A pickup and a trailer were reported Saturday morning in the 1400 block of Walter Mapp Drive in Riverside. Something was offloaded from the truck into a car.
Suspicious activity was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington.
A welfare check was requested Friday morning on a subject in the 700 block of North B Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The subject was fine.
A missing 16-year-old was reported Saturday night in the 400 block of South Harrison Street in Brighton. The juvenile later returned home.
