Arrests

Justin Allan Dennis, 19, of Washington, was arrested Thursday, Feb. 14, in the 400 block of East Second Street in Washington for fifth-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance – marijuana.

Tiffany Marie Floyd, 18, of Marshalltown, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman for possession of a controlled substance – bath salts, and possession of a controlled substance – marijuana.

Robert Ramone Mikesell, 32, of Luzerne, was arrested Saturday morning in the 200 block of North railroad Street in Ainsworth for failure to appear for mittimus on charges of driving while barred and operating without owner‘s consent.

Natalie Elaine Hardy, 40, of Lone Tree, was arrested Sunday afternoon at East Street and Highway 22 in Riverside for driving under revocation and no insurance. The subject was also wanted out of Johnson County for possession of a controlled substance – marijuana.

Matthew Tyler Entsminger, 21, of Burlington, was arrested Sunday evening in the 1300 block of East Main Street in Washington for probation violation on a charge of forgery.

Sarah Lucille Murphy, 39, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Sunday night in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for public intoxication and interference with official acts.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle reportedly went off the roadway Friday morning in the 1800 block of Highway 22 in Kalona and possibly struck a utility guide wire. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

An accident was reported Saturday morning in the 100 block of East Main Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller requested documentation of an accident that occurred in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington. A vehicle struck a parked vehicle. The incident was documented.

A vehicle reportedly struck a sign at Underwood Avenue and Highway 92 in Ainsworth. Officers responded. Charges were filed on Drew Scott Kirk, 16, of Ainsworth for failure to maintain control.

 

Traffic other

Several traffic violations were reported Friday afternoon. The vehicle reportedly pulled into the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers located the driver. The driver was counseled and his license will be sent for re-evaluation.

Several vehicles were reported racing in the 2600 block of 230th Street in Washington Friday night. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Fire calls

Kalona Fire was requested Friday evening in the 2400 block of S.W. 240th Street in Kalona for a stove with smoke coming from it.

Smoke was reported coming from a wooden floor in the 200 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth. Ainsworth Fire Department responded. Alliant was contacted.

 

Sexual child abuse

A possible case of sexual child abuse was reported Sunday evening in Washington County. Officers spoke with the caller and the victim’s family.

 

Assault

A deputy was requested Friday afternoon in the 300 block of West Washington Street in Washington in reference to an assault that occurred involving the caller’s wife and another subject. The caller stated a subject hit his wife and them left the residence. Officers responded.

 

Weapon violation

A deputy was requested Friday morning in the 700 block of F Avenue in Kalona to remove a screwdriver off a student. Officers responded. The student was in possession of a digital meat thermometer. The student will have an out of school suspension.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

A suspicious odor was reported coming from an apartment in the 500 block of 11th Street in Kalona. Officers responded. A search warrant was obtained. Charges are pending per lab results.

 

Burglary

A caller in the 1600 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported Sunday morning hearing people outside his residence, possibly breaking onto his vehicle. Officers were unable to locate anyone on the property. The incident was documented.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 600 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon that she attempted to get her taxes done and was told her information had already been processed. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 600 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington reported Sunday morning that someone had used his debit card top purchase $10 worth of items at a business. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

Two cell phone chargers were reported stolen Friday morning in the 900 block of East Madison Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

The rear license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block of East Main Street in Washington Friday afternoon. The incident was documented.

 

Disorderly conduct

Officers were requested Friday afternoon in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington Friday afternoon in reference to two students who fought on school grounds. Disorderly conduct charges were filed on Dalia Castaneda Aileen, 14, and Rosaura Diaz Abelina, 15.

Two subjects were reported fighting Friday evening in the 400 block of Lincoln Street in Ainsworth. Officers responded. The subjects were counseled.

A fight was reported Sunday morning in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers responded and made contact with two brothers. One was trying to take the other home. They left for the evening.

 

Intimidation/ harassment

A caller in the 300 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington reported Sunday afternoon that a subject was harassing another subject. The incident was documented.

 

Trespass

A caller in the 500 block of South Mechanic Street in Brighton reported Friday afternoon that her deceased boyfriend’s parents were at the residence going through their belongings and refusing to leave. Officers responded. The subjects left the premises.

 

Hang-up 911 calls

A hang-up 911 call was reported received from a residence in the 900 block of Paradise Drive in Washington. Officers responded. Everything was fine.

 

Animal complaints

A dog reportedly kept coming into a business in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington Friday evening. The dogcatcher took the dog to the pound.

A barking dog was reported Friday night in the 500 block of 14th Street in Wellman. Officers were unable to locate.

A caller in the 500 block of South Third Avenue in Washington reported Sunday afternoon that a black lab was approaching her and her dog. Officers responded. The owner was advised of the situation.

 

All other offenses

A caller reported Friday morning that the metal top of a silo in the 1300 block of Tulip Avenue in Riverside was dangling along the side and may drop onto a trailer during the next windstorm. Officers spoke with the owner. The incident was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

Suspicious activity was reported at a business in the 100 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington Friday morning. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.

A caller in the 400 block of East Monroe Street in Washington reported Friday afternoon finding items in her back yard that had possibly been stolen. Officers responded. The items were returned to the owner.

The front door of a residence in the 400 block of West Madison Street in Washington was reportedly wide open. Officers responded. Everything was fine.

 

Civil dispute

A deputy was requested Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman in reference to a custody issue. Officers spoke with the caller and advised him to contact an attorney.

 

Welfare check

A subject reportedly kept falling down Friday afternoon in the 200 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

A welfare check was requested Saturday evening on a subject in the 500 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A welfare check was requested Sunday evening in the 400 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.
