Arrests

Alan Nemire Evans, 61, of Washington, was arrested Friday afternoon in the City of Washington on a warrant for assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and indecent exposure.

David Keith Wilson, 36, of Crawfordsville, was arrested Friday evening in the 1800 block of 140th Street in Wellman on a warrant for domestic abuse.

Gerald Emmett Keaough Jr., 42, of Wellman, was arrested Friday evening in the 1800 block of 140th Street in Wellman for domestic abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

David Jack Mahnke, 58, of Des Moines, was arrested Friday night in the 700 block of Sixth Street in Wellman for public intoxication.

Kenneth Lee Meyerholz, 50, of Columbus Junction, was arrested Friday night in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington for failure to appear for mittimus.

Muharem Bahtic, 22, of Kalona, was arrested Friday night in the 500 block of 11th Street in Kalona for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Abby Leigh Sather, 22, of Fairfield, was arrested Saturday evening at Highway 218 and Highway 22 in Riverside for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. Shane Thomas Johnson, 30, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for interference with official acts.

Timmy Joe Scott, 42, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington for disorderly conduct. Erin Rene Ryan, 26, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for interference with official acts. Kevin Douglas McDole, 36, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for interference with official acts and disorderly conduct.

Wesley Eric Scott, 23, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning at Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street in Washington for OWI.

Casey Jo Davidson, 26, of Wellman, was arrested Sunday morning in the 2800 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for OWI.

Trevor Benjamin Schlatter, 20, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 700 block of West Second Street in Washington for OWI, interference with official acts and driving under revocation.

 

Traffic accidents

A rear-end accident was reported Friday afternoon at Fourth Avenue and Main Street in Washington. Over $1,500 damage was reported.

An accident was reported Friday evening at Highway 218 south of 22 in Riverside. Riverside QRS, Riverside Fire, and Washington County Ambulance responded. Kyle Ehret Connelly was cited for following too closely. Eduardo Hernandez was cited for no insurance. Two subjects were transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A caller in the 100 block of West First Street in Riverside reported Sunday afternoon a vehicle struck her earlier and she didn’t believe she was injured. She reported having some bruising and pain. The incident was documented.

 

Disabled vehicles

A vehicle was reported parked blocking the caller’s driveway Friday morning in the 400 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The vehicle was moved.

Two vehicles were reported blocking a driveway Friday afternoon in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A three-vehicle accident was reported Saturday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth. Washington County Ambulance, Ainsworth QRS, Ainsworth Fire, Washington County Rescue and officers responded. One patient was transported to the Washington County Hospital. Kevin Dean of Columbus Junction was cited for failure to stop at a clear and assured distance.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday evening in the 3000 block of Spruce Avenue in Crawfordsville. Officers were advised.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday evening on Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers were advised.

A caller reported Sunday night hitting a snowdrift in the 1500 block of 180th Street in West Chester. Officers, Washington County Ambulance, Wellman QRS, Wellman Fire and Washington County Rescue responded. One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was requested to be towed Friday morning in the 1300 block of 190th Street in Keota. Officers responded. The vehicle was towed.

A vehicle was reported parked on the sidewalk in the 200 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A car was reported parked in front of a mailbox in the 100 block of West 14th Street in Washington. A parking citation was issued.

A vehicle was reported stuck Monday morning at Nutmeg and 200th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Fire calls

Ainsworth Fire Department was requested Friday afternoon for mutual aid at a structure fire in the 19000 block of County Road X17 in Columbus Junction. Ainsworth Fire responded.

A stove fire was reported Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of South 10th Avenue in Washington. Officers and Washington Fire Department responded.

A fire alarm was reported going off Monday morning in the 400 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded.

 

Assault

A caller in the 300 block of West Main Street in Washington reported Friday morning that a subject he was showing a rental property to almost assaulted him. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.

 

Motor vehicle theft

Two stolen vehicles were reported Friday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. The vehicles were located.

 

Burglary

Someone reportedly broke into a car in the 900 block of South Third Avenue in Washington Friday morning and a driver’s license and bankcard were stolen. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A machine shed in the 2600 block of Redwood Avenue in Washington was reported broken into Saturday morning and an ATV was reported stolen.

 

Shoplifting

Three subjects reportedly stole alcohol Friday afternoon in the 600 block of E Avenue in Kalona. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A cell phone was reported stolen Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.

Two bicycles were reported stolen Sunday afternoon in the 500 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

An incident was reported Saturday afternoon in the 600 block of East Polk Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A caller in the 2000 block of Highway 22 in Kalona reported Sunday afternoon being harassed. Officers spoke with the subject.

A caller in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported Sunday night a vehicle was following her. Officers responded.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

A vehicle stop was reported Sunday evening at Highway 218 and 175th Street in Riverside. Charges are pending.

 

Trespass

A subject was reported in the 200 block of South Main Street in Crawfordsville who was not supposed to be on the property. Officers spoke with the father of the juvenile.

 

Curfew/loitering/vagrancy

A caller in the 500 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported Monday morning that her 14-year-old son did not come home by curfew. Andrew Ty Payne was cited for curfew violation.

 

Animal complaints

A loose dog was reported running in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Sunday night in the 500 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington. Officers responded.

 

DP&Q

Vincent Edward Smallwood, 33, of Washington, was cited Saturday morning in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington for disorderly conduct.

 

All other offenses

A dispute was reported between two neighbors Sunday evening. The caller reported shooting his gun at an aggressive dog that was coming at him. The neighbor reported the caller had fired shots at the roadway. Officers responded.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 400 block of Lincoln Street in Ainsworth reported Friday afternoon her 17-year-old son left the residence with another subject. Officers located the juvenile and returned him to his residence.

 

Suspicious activity

A vehicle was reported parked in a driveway in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington Friday evening and it didn’t belong at the residence. Officers responded.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 300 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington reported Sunday afternoon her landlord was harassing her. Officers responded.

 

Welfare check

Officers reported Friday morning that they were assisting DHS in the 100 block of North Second Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.
