Traffic accidents

A driver reported Wednesday morning that the arms at the railroad crossing at North 12th in Washington came down on his semi and damaged the trailer. The arm had also broken off. Officers responded. The railroad was contacted. The incident was documented.

A vehicle reportedly hit a parked vehicle Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of East Polk Street in Washington. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

 

Burglary

A deputy was requested Wednesday afternoon in the 700 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman regarding an apartment being broken into. Officers responded. The report was unfounded. The tenant of the apartment had other tenants break in after she locked herself out in October.

A burglary was reported Wednesday evening in the 1600 block of East Washington Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Animal complaints

A brindle and white dog was reported running around in the 400 block of East Main Street in Brighton barking. Officers responded. The dog was inside prior to officers’ arrival.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller reported Wednesday morning that it appeared someone attempted to gain entry to the back door in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded. There were no visible pry marks. The incident was documented.

A subject was reported knocking on windows in the 900 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington Wednesday evening claiming to be from Mediacom and asking people to switch their service. Officers were unable to locate.
