Arrests

Nikita Renee Jones of Wayland was arrested Friday evening in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for driving under suspension.

Jared James Reed, 25, of Brighton, was arrested Friday evening in the 1300 block of Highways 1 and 78 in Brighton on a warrant for operating without owner’s consent, driving under revocation, no seatbelt and no proof of insurance.

Christopher Nicholas Boyum Cameron, 21, of Washington, was arrested Friday night in the 1000 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington for driving under suspension. Anna Louise Gaughan, 19, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chance Alante Miller, 19, of Wellman, was arrested Saturday morning at Dogwood Avenue in Wellman for OWI. Dillon Raymond Dawley, 18, of Keota, was arrested at the same time and location for possession of alcohol under the legal age. Jacob Ryan Engstrom, 19, of Wellman, was arrested at the same time and location for possession of a controlled substance – marijuana.

Ryan Dean Steinberg, 22, of Washington, was arrested Saturday morning in the 600 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington for probation violation on second-degree theft.

Benjamin Everette Brown, 21, of Washington, was arrested Saturday morning in the 700 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance – marijuana.

Frankie Melissa Fulford, 38, of Washington, was arrested Saturday morning in the 700 block of North B Avenue in Washington for revocation of pretrial release on prohibited acts.

Belle Karen Burkhart, 49, of Wellman, was arrested Saturday morning in the 200 block of Fifth Street in Kalona for fifth-degree theft.

Brandon Noe Reyes, 34, of Marion, was arrested Saturday evening in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for interference with official acts, OWI, failure to maintain control, and no proof of insurance accident related.

Michael Babcock, 37, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington for interference with official acts and public intoxication. He was also charged with a parole violation.

Patty Arroyo Davila, 52, of Washington, was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington for shoplifting.

 

Traffic accidents

A subject reportedly flipped a car in the 2600 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Riverside Fire, Riverside QRS, officers and Washington County Ambulance responded. One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Over $1,500 damage was reported.

A one-vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon in the 1900 block of Larch Avenue in Washington. Kalona Fire/Rescue, Washington County Ambulance, officers and Iowa State Patrol responded.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. Laurel Christine VanWilligen of Ainsworth was cited for unsafe turn.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday evening in the 1700 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Over $1,500 damage was reported. A state accident report will be filed.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday evening at Dogwood and County Line Road in Wellman. Officers responded.

A caller reported Saturday evening hitting a deer in the 400 block of Highways 1 and 92 in Washington.

A caller reported Sunday morning needing help getting his truck out of the ditch Sunday morning at Highways 1 and 78 and Elm in Brighton. Officers responded. The vehicle was towed.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Sunday afternoon at Highway 218 and 170th Street in Riverside. Officers responded. Over $1,500 damage was reported.

 

Traffic other

An improperly parked vehicle was reported Friday afternoon in the 200 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the owner.

 

Fire calls

A commercial fire alarm was reported Friday afternoon in the 500 block of Third Street in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department responded. No fire.

 

All other thefts

A gas drive-off in the amount of $5.06 was reported Friday afternoon in the 1900 block of Larch Avenue in Washington. Officers located the vehicle and escorted the driver back to pay for the gas.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $66.04 was reported Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of East First Street in Riverside. Officers spoke with the vehicle’s owner who will return and pay.

 

Vandalism

Vandalism was reported Sunday evening in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Brighton.

 

Intimidation/harassment

An officer was requested Friday morning in the 1300 block of East Third Street in Washington Friday morning in reference to an on-going issue of harassment. Officers spoke with a subject and advised her not to contact the caller.

A caller in the 100 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington reported Friday morning her niece was harassing her about the care the caller provides for her child. The caller wants the niece to quit calling and threatening DHS. Officers spoke with the other party.

 

Prowlers

A caller in the 700 block of West Main Street in Washington reported Sunday evening that someone was possibly outside the residence causing the security lights to go off. Officers were unable to locate anyone.

 

Trespass

Suspicious activity was reported Sunday morning in the City of West Chester. A report will be filed.

 

Animal complaint

A dead coyote was reported on the sidewalk in the 500 block of West Main Street in Washington Sunday morning. Officers were advised. The dogcatcher was contacted to remove the carcass. The incident was documented.

 

DP&Q

Subjects were reported shooting off fireworks Saturday evening in the 1300 block of Redwood Avenue in Riverside Saturday evening. The caller reported the subjects also frequently shoot handguns and scare cattle. Officers responded. No fireworks, just gunfire. The gunfire was done in a safe manner.

Loud music was reported coming from a vehicle in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington Sunday morning. Officers responded and spoke with the subjects in the vehicle.

 

All other offenses

An unknown issue was reported Sunday morning from an incident at a business in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the caller. No report.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller reported Friday afternoon getting a call from a residence in the 100 block of South Iowa Avenue in Crawfordsville. Before she could get details, there was yelling and the line was disconnected. Officers responded. Problem resolved.

A domestic situation was reported Saturday afternoon in the 100 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth. Officers responded. The parties were separated. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 500 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Sunday morning that her adult son was refusing to leave the residence. Officers responded. The party left voluntarily.

A caller in the 400 block of Lincoln Street in Ainsworth reported Sunday afternoon her 18-year-old son showed up at the residence intoxicated. Officers and the Iowa State Patrol responded.
