Traffic accidents

A two-vehicle accident was reported Monday afternoon at South B Avenue and West Madison Street in Washington. Dennis Salemink of Washington was cited for failure to stop at an assured clear distance.

A parked vehicle was reportedly hit by another vehicle Monday evening in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. The incident was documented.

An accident was reported Tuesday morning at Highway 92 and Birch in Keota. Officers responded. No one was around the vehicle and it had been there for a while.

 

Traffic stop serious

Officers reported Monday night being out with a vehicle at G36 and Highway 218 in Ainsworth. Jacob Logan Mark Tate of Ainsworth was cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

 

Drug/narcotics violations

A student in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington was reported Monday morning in possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed on Brandon lee Davis, 17, of Washington, for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

All other thefts

A wooden sled with metal was reported taken from the back yard of a residence in the 900 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington Monday morning. The incident was documented.

A shoplifter was reported Monday afternoon in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Samantha Louise Christner, 28, of Keota, was cited for fifth-degree theft.

A caller in Washington reported Monday evening that his spare key was missing from his vehicle. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

Trespass

Suspicious activity was reported Sunday morning in the City of West Chester. A report will be filed.

 

Animal complaint

A dead coyote was reported on the sidewalk in the 500 block of West Main Street in Washington Sunday morning. Officers were advised. The dogcatcher was contacted to remove the carcass. The incident was documented.

 

DP&Q

Subjects were reported shooting off fireworks Saturday evening in the 1300 block of Redwood Avenue in Riverside Saturday evening. The caller reported the subjects also frequently shoot handguns and scare cattle. Officers responded. No fireworks, just gunfire. The gunfire was done in a safe manner.

Loud music was reported coming from a vehicle in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington Sunday morning. Officers responded and spoke with the subjects in the vehicle.

 

All other offenses

An unknown issue was reported Sunday morning from an incident at a business in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the caller. No report.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller reported Friday afternoon getting a call from a residence in the 100 block of South Iowa Avenue in Crawfordsville. Before she could get details, there was yelling and the line was disconnected. Officers responded. Problem resolved.

A domestic situation was reported Saturday afternoon in the 100 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth. Officers responded. The parties were separated. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 500 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Sunday morning that her adult son was refusing to leave the residence. Officers responded. The party left voluntarily.

A caller in the 400 block of Lincoln Street in Ainsworth reported Sunday afternoon her 18-year-old son showed up at the residence intoxicated. Officers and the Iowa State Patrol responded.

A caller in the 200 block of West Main Street in Brighton reported Monday morning that he had an argument with his girlfriend and had asked her to move out on Jan. 1 and she had not done so. Officers spoke with the caller. It was a civil matter.
