Arrests

Ashley Marie Combs, 18, of Washington, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington on a warrant for assault with injury.

Veronica Faye Vice, 36, of Kalona, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 400 block of Fifth Street in Kalona on a Johnson County warrant for failure to appear for show cause on a charge of third-degree theft.

William Joseph Hiller, 40, of Washington, was arrested Saturday evening in the 900 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington for aggravated domestic abuse assault.

Matthew Scott Thornton, 26, of Wapello, was arrested Sunday morning in the 100 block of West Fountain Street in Brighton for probation revocation on OWI.

Eusebio G. Limas Morales, 37, of Kalona, was arrested Sunday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for driving while barred.

Melinda Katherine Schnicker, 44, of Washington, was arrested Sunday evening in the 500 block of South Highway 1 in Washington on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of fifth-degree theft.

Nathaniel Louis Kofren, 39, of Kalona, was arrested Monday morning in the 700 block of 13th Street in Kalona for parole violation.

 

Traffic accidents

An accident was reported Friday afternoon at Highway 22 and Hemlock in Wellman. The incident was documented.

An accident was reported Friday afternoon at North 12th Avenue and East Second Street in Washington. Officers responded. Linda Patricia Colhouser was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. A state accident report will be filed.

A hit-and-run was reported Friday evening in the 100 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday evening on Highway 218 in Riverside. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday afternoon at Highway 218 and 160th Street in Riverside. Officers responded.

A caller reported striking a highway sign Saturday evening at Highways 218 and 22 in Riverside. Officers, state roads and a tow truck responded.

A subject reportedly rolled her car Sunday night in the 2900 block of Wayland Road in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Traffic other

A semi hauling a load of lumber was reported stuck south of Highway 22 in Kalona. County Roads was notified. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 300 block of East Third Street in Riverside reported Friday afternoon loaning her vehicle to a subject who would not return it. Officers attempted to contact the subject.

 

Fire calls

A barn was reported on fire Saturday afternoon in the 2600 block of 190th Street in Ainsworth. Washington Fire, Riverside Fire and officers responded. The fire was extinguished.

A caller in the 300 block of South 15th Avenue in Washington reported Sunday morning that her furnace had shut off and she smelled smoke. Washington Fire Department and officers responded. No fire was located.

Smoke was reported Monday morning in the 700 block of South Third Avenue in Washington. Washington Fire Department and officers responded. No fire. Furnace problems.

 

Sexual child abuse

A possible case of sexual child abuse was reported Friday afternoon in the City of Washington. The incident is under investigation.

 

Assault

A case of domestic assault was reported Friday morning in the 900 block of Eighth Street in Kalona. Officers responded. Information was forwarded to the family physician. The incident was documented.

 

Vandalism

A deputy was requested Friday afternoon in the 2400 block of Yucca Avenue in Ainsworth in reference to a subject tearing up a dirt road. The incident was documented.

 

Intoxicated pedestrian

An intoxicated subject was reported Saturday afternoon in the 400 block of Fifth Street in Kalona and had torn the curtains off the wall. Officers and the Iowa State Patrol responded.

 

Weapon violation

A caller at North Second and East Main Street in Washington reported Saturday night hearing two gunshots. Officers responded. A subject was found in the area that advised that another subject lights firecrackers when his dog runs off. Officers were unable to locate any other evidence.

 

Disorderly conduct

Assistance was requested Sunday morning in the 100 block of West Third Street in Washington for a client that refused to go inside the residence. Officers responded.

 

DP&Q

Subjects were reported being very loud Saturday morning in the 600 block of Jefferson Street in Washington. Officers responded.

An officer was requested Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington in reference to subjects who were being loud. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported coming from an apartment in the 400 block of East Washington Street in Washington Saturday night. Officers responded.

 

Family offense non violent

An officer reported Friday morning being in the 700 block of F Avenue in Kalona in reference to a DHS intake.

An intoxicated subject was reported Sunday morning in the 400 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers responded. The subjects were separated.

 

Runaway/missing persons

A caller in the 900 block of East Third Street in Washington reported Sunday morning that her two daughters weren’t in the house and them must have left sometime after the parents were in bed. Officers spoke with the parents.

A caller in the 1300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported Sunday afternoon that her son had run away from home. Officers responded. The subject was located.

 

Suspicious activity

A loud noise was reported Friday night in the 500 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman. Officers were unable to locate anything.

Three suspicious subjects were reported Saturday night in the 1100 block of Enterprise Drive in Riverside. Officers spoke with the subjects, who were waiting for a ride.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 90 block of North Washington Street in Riverside reported Saturday evening that his roommate’s mother was trying to put his stuff outside. Officers spoke with all parties. It was a civil matter.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Sunday morning on a subject in the 800 block of West Monroe Street in Washington. Officers responded. The subject was fine.

A welfare check was requested Sunday evening on a subject in the 100 block of Buckeye Lane in Riverside. Officers responded.

A welfare check was requested Monday morning on a subject in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded.

A welfare check was requested Friday afternoon on a subject in the 900 block of East Adams Street in Washington. Officers responded.
