A vehicle was reported in a ditch Monday evening in the 1400 block of Highway 1 in Kalona. Officers responded. No one was around. The vehicle was tagged. The incident was documented.
A two-vehicle accident was reported Monday evening at Juniper Avenue and Highway 22 in Kalona. No injuries were reported. Officers responded. Tyler Messinger of North English was cited for unsafe passing.
A two-vehicle accident was reported Monday evening at Riverside Road and 130th Street in Riverside. One of the subjects was reported to be dizzy and confused. Riverside rescue, Riverside QRS, Riverside Fire, officers and Washington County Ambulance responded. One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Kevin Hess of Iowa City was cited for failure to maintain control. One vehicle was towed. The other will remain at the location to be moved in the morning. Over $1,500 damage was reported.
A two-vehicle accident was reported Monday night at Highway 22 and Hickory Avenue in Wellman. Sharon McDonald of Wellman was cited for expired license. Over $1,500 damage was reported.
A caller reported Tuesday morning that a subject had come to his door and advised he had put his car into a ditch at 282nd and Vine in Crawfordsville. Officers were unable to locate. It appeared the vehicle might have been pulled out.
An improperly parked vehicle was reported Monday afternoon in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington. It had been there since Jan. 15. It had a flat tire. The vehicle had been marked on the tires. Officers attempted to contact the owner.
The basement of a residence in the 200 block of East Third Street in Riverside was reported filled with smoke Monday morning. The fire alarm was going off. No flames were visible. Everyone was out of the residence. Riverside Fire/QRS, and officers responded. The gas was shut off. Mid-American was contacted.
Physical child abuse
A possible case of physical child abuse was reported Monday morning in the City of Washington.
A domestic assault was reported Tuesday morning in the 600 block of North Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.
A caller in the 900 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington reported Monday morning receiving harassing phone calls in reference to chickens. The caller also reported a violation of a no-contact order. Officers spoke with all parties and advised no further contact.
Two loose dogs were reported Monday morning in the 700 block of Park Street in Ainsworth. Officers spoke with the owner and advised her to keep the dogs on a leash.
All other offenses
A bag containing a musical instrument was reported located in the 400 block of B Avenue in Kalona Monday morning. Officers picked up the items.
A possible violation of a no-contact order was reported Monday morning in the 3000 block of Quince Avenue in Washington. The violation was unfounded. Officers will contact a subject to advise her to stop contacting the caller.
Hang-up 911 calls
A 911 call open line with static was reported Monday morning in the 1800 block of 250th Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the residents. The phone line was cut due to construction.
