Mitchell Kennedy Barta, 17, of Marion, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a warrant for second-degree sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of a minor. The subject was transported to Eldora.
Jeffrey Daniels, 30, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of prescriptions drugs or device.
Tyler Scott Hawk, 23, of New London, was arrested Tuesday night in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington on two warrants for third-degree sexual abuse and third-degree sexual abuse.
A caller reported Tuesday morning possibly damaging a vehicle she was parked next to in the 400 block of East Polk Street in Washington. She said she had some paint transfer on her vehicle and wanted to contact the other party. The incident was documented. The other vehicle was located. The owner advised the damage was very minor and he wasn’t going to pursue repairing it.
A fire crew and pumper were requested Tuesday morning to respond to a fire scene in the 500 block of South Street in Kalona for a fire that had rekindled. Kalona Fire responded.
A caller in the 1400 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington reported Wednesday morning that his garage was full of smoke. There was an electrical fire on the outside of the garage. Alliant also responded. The fire was extinguished.
All other thefts
A vehicle reportedly left a business in the 100 block of Seventh Street in Kalona Tuesday morning without paying for $10 in gas. Officers were unable to locate.
A caller in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported Tuesday afternoon being threatened while at an appointment. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.
A caller in the 500 block of North Second Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday afternoon that a law office was calling with threatening messages about collecting bills and warrants for the caller’s arrest. It was a scam. Officers contacted the number and advised them to cease contacting the caller.
A caller in the 1400 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Tuesday evening that two semis had been running since earlier in the evening. Officers spoke with all parties. No issue.

A subject reportedly walked away from a residence in the 1300 block of North Second Avenue in Washington Tuesday morning. Officers responded. The subject was located and returned to the residence.

An officer was requested Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of West Third Street in Washington regarding the caller’s rights not being respected by staff and her money not being used correctly. Officers spoke with all parties. The parties will try to resolve the problem.

Possible suspicious activity was reported Tuesday afternoon at a residence in the 400 block of West Washington Street in Brighton. Officers responded. A suspicious smell was coming from outside the home.
A caller in the 3100 block of 130th Street in Riverside reported Wednesday morning a subject had looked through his mailbox.
