Arrests

Dalton Justice McElreen, 18, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Friday afternoon at North Greene and East First Street in Riverside on a warrant for unlawful possession of a prescription drug.

Brian Curtis Adair, 19, of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested Friday evening at Highway 92 in Ainsworth for OWI, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

 

Traffic accidents

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Under $1,500 damage was reported. No citation was issued.

A traffic accident with no injuries was reported Friday afternoon in the 1600 block of Highway 22 in Wellman. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

A parked vehicle was reported struck Friday evening in the 500 block of South Highway 1 in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Traffic other

A caller reported Friday morning being behind a state truck spreading salt on Highway 92 in West Chester and something came from the truck that cracked the caller’s windshield. IDOT was notified.

A school bus stop arm violation was reported Friday afternoon at F Avenue and Eighth Street in Kalona. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle. It was not the driver. Wrong plate information had been obtained. The incident was documented.

 

Assault

A caller reported Friday evening that her brother had attacked her in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded. The family did not wish to pursue charges.

A caller on Orchard Drive in Washington reported Friday night her father was intoxicated and fighting with her mother. Officers responded. Verbal only.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

An officer was requested was requested Friday morning in the 2400 block of Goodwin Drive in Washington in reference to a student speaking about drugs being used in a residence. The incident was documented. Information will be forwarded to the Department of Human Services.

 

Burglary

An apartment in the 300 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington was reported broken into Sunday evening. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 600 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Saturday evening two transactions on her credit card that were not used by her. The caller was advised to contact the credit card company.

 

All other thefts

A wallet and a GPS were reported taken from a vehicle in the 800 block of East Madison Street in Washington Friday morning. The incident was documented.

A gas drive-off was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Charges to be filed.

A caller reported Sunday afternoon the theft of her son’s belongings in the 100 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Vandalism

A caller reported Sunday night that someone threw grease on his windows in the 200 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented. The caller will provide surveillance tapes.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A deputy was requested Friday afternoon in the 300 block of St. Mary St. in Riverside in reference to threatening e-mails. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 900 block of North Fifth Street in Washington reported receiving harassing text messages Sunday afternoon. The incident was documented.

A subject was reported Sunday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington saying she was being harassed. Officers responded.

 

Disorderly conduct

An officer was requested Friday afternoon in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington for an uncooperative student. Officers responded.

 

Illegal dumping

Trash and a dead animal were reported dumped in the yard of a residence in the 700 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington Saturday morning. Officers responded.

Illegal dumping was reported Sunday afternoon at the train via duct and KeWash Trail near Sunset Park in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Trespass

A subject was reported in a store in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington Sunday afternoon after being advised she was not supposed to return there. She had been arrested for shoplifting and advised not to return. Officers responded and escorted her out.

 

Animal complaint

A horse was reported Saturday night on the roadway at Sixth Street and J Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded.

A caller in the 2500 block of Spruce Avenue in Ainsworth reported Sunday afternoon an ongoing issue with a dog being loose and coming on his property. The owners of the dog were given a verbal warning.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported coming from an apartment in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington Saturday morning. Officers responded. A verbal warning was given.

A caller in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington reported Saturday morning the upstairs tenants were stomping around and she was unable to sleep. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A subject was reported Friday afternoon pounding on the caller’s door in the 900 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 100 block of G Avenue in Kalona reported Saturday morning that her daughter was intoxicated and out of control. Officers responded. One subject was transported to the Washington County Hospital.

 

Suspicious activity

Four subjects were reported running in and out of a fire station in the 600 block of North Greene Street in Riverside with bags and what appeared to be a gun. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 300 block of West Fifth Street in Washington reported Saturday morning that her husband had left with the vehicle and had not returned. Officers spoke with the caller. It was a civil matter.

 

Welfare check

A suspicious voicemail was reported Friday morning in the 80 block of West First Street in Riverside. Officers spoke with the caller and responded to the residence. Everything was fine. The incident was documented.

A welfare check was requested Saturday morning on a subject in the 400 block of West Fifth Street in Washington. Officers responded. No problem.
