Edward Jeremy Roskup, 32, of Marengo, was arrested Wednesday evening in the 800 block of West Pine Street in Marengo on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for hearing on sex offender registry.
Amber Rae Lawson, 24, of Iowa City, was arrested Thursday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a warrant for two counts of child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A possible hit and run was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 1000 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington. The incident was documented.
A vehicle was reported parked across the sidewalk Wednesday morning in the 600 block of Third Street in Wellman. Officers were unable to contact the registered owner and left a written warning on the vehicle.
A garage explosion was reported Wednesday morning in the 2400 block of 520th Street SW in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
A sexual assault was reported Wednesday afternoon in the City of Washington. The incident is under investigation.
All other thefts
Allergy medicine was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of East Main Street in Washington Wednesday morning. Officers responded. Unfounded.
A gas drive-off in the amount of $30 was reported Wednesday morning in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded and attempted to contact the owner of the vehicle.
A caller reported Wednesday afternoon her daughter’s coat was taken in the 600 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. The suspect was on video. The coat was returned. There was no theft, just a misunderstanding.
A purse was reported stolen from a locked vehicle in the 1300 block of Woodland Court in Washington Wednesday evening. The incident was documented.
A lost wallet was reported Wednesday evening in the 700 block of Sixth Street in Wellman.
An officer was requested Wednesday morning in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington in reference to an issue with the caller’s daughter and another student. Officers spoke with the caller and will speak with the students.
A vehicle was reported allover the roadway Wednesday morning at Highway 1 and West Monroe in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.
All other offenses
An officer was requested Wednesday afternoon in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington to assist in escorting a subject from the business permanently. The subject was advised not to return.
A caller in the 700 block of 14th Street in Kalona reported Wednesday afternoon that a subject had been to his residence twice asking for money. The incident was documented. Officers will attempt to contact the other subject and advise him not to return.
Hang-up 911 calls
Dispatch reported Wednesday morning receiving four 911 calls from a residence in the 400 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded. Small children had been playing with the phone.
An officer was requested Wednesday afternoon in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman to assist the caller in picking up items belonging to her daughter. Officers spoke with the caller. Dispatch contacted the business.
