Arrests

Aaron Michael Jaspering, 28, of Washington, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 500 block of South Third Avenue in Washington for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Justin Alan Evans, 32, of Brighton, was arrested Friday night in the 500 block of East Madison Street in Brighton for probation violation on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Tyler James Fleagle, 26, of Kalona, was arrested Saturday morning in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona for driving while barred and fraudulent use of registration.

Patience Tenae Dawley, 22, of Iowa City, was arrested Saturday evening in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington for theft.

 

Traffic accidents

A caller reportedly drove his vehicle in the median on Highway 218 in Ainsworth. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A truck hauling a wagon reportedly tipped over while going around a corner at Vine and 320th Street in Crawfordsville. Officers responded.

A car vs. semi accident was reported Friday morning at Highway 218 and 192nd Street in Ainsworth. Ainsworth Fire, Ainsworth QRS, Riverside Fire, Washington County Rescue, Washington County Ambulance and officers responded. One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. One subject was transported to the Washington County Hospital. No charges were filed.

A driver reportedly backed into a building in the 1200 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington Friday afternoon. The incident was documented.

A subject reportedly opened his car door and hit another vehicle Friday afternoon in the 300 block of Highways 1 and 92 in Washington. The caller reported the subject was refusing to give his information and walking away. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

A caller presorted Saturday morning that she wrecked her car in a steep ditch in the 1500 block of Highway 22 in Wellman. Officers, Washington County Ambulance, Wellman Fire, Wellman Quick Responders, and Washington County Rescue responded. Two subjects were transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A traffic accident with three vehicles was reported Saturday evening in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded. Marilyn Jean Davis, 77, was cited for turning improper lane. One subject was transported to the Washington County Hospital.

A caller reported Sunday morning hitting a vehicle at Fir Avenue in Brighton. Officers responded. Stephanie Merrill of Fairfield was cited for unsafe turn.

A caller reported Sunday evening that his parked vehicle had been hit by another vehicle in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Sunday night in the 3100 block of Highway 218 in Crawfordsville. The incident was documented.

 

Traffic other

A subject was reported driving erratically Friday afternoon in the 700 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Fire calls

A caller reported hitting a gas line Friday afternoon in the 200 block of Second Street in Ainsworth. Ainsworth Fire and officers responded.

Wellman Fire Department was requested Sunday morning at 480th Street and Blackhawk Avenue in Wellman for an unattended ditch fire. The fire was extinguished.

 

Sexual assault

A subject reported Friday afternoon being assaulted in the City of Kalona. Officers, Kalona QRS and Washington County Ambulance responded. The subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

 

Assault

An intruder was reported Friday morning in the 400 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington and there was a physical altercation between the tenant and the intruder. Officers and Washington County Ambulance responded. No intrusion had taken place. The subjects had been drinking together and a fight ensued. One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. One subject was transported to Washington County Hospital. The incident is under investigation.

A caller reported being assaulted in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington Friday evening. Officers attempted to locate two subjects.

A subject was reported assaulted Sunday morning in the 200 block of East First Street in Riverside.

 

Burglary

A house in the 200 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington was reported burglarized. The incident is under investigation.

 

All other thefts

A bike was reported stolen Friday afternoon in the 100 block of A Avenue in Kalona. The incident was documented.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $14.07 was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. The driver of the vehicle called and advised he would take care of it.

Someone reportedly took a license plate off of a trailer in the 600 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington Saturday afternoon. The incident was documented.

A portable satellite radio connection was reported missing from a vehicle in the 500 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington. The incident was documented.

A bicycle was reported stolen from a garage in the 500 block of South Third Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The caller’s brother had the bike. No problem.

 

Vandalism

Subjects were reported near the basketball courts in Sunset Park in Washington throwing trash around Friday evening. Officers responded.

An overhead light post at the Skate Park in Washington was reported crooked Saturday morning. Officers responded. The pole was pushed over by something. The incident was documented.

Three vehicles in the 600 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington were reported vandalized Saturday evening. Officers responded.

Someone reportedly stuck plastic silverware in a yard in the 800 block of South 12th Avenue in Washington Sunday afternoon. The incident was documented.

Someone reportedly toilet papered a house in the 1500 block of Highway 1 in Washington Sunday evening. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 600 block of Ash Street in Riverside reported Friday evening her ex-boyfriend was harassing her.

A caller in the 200 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Sunday morning her neighbor yells at her every time she goes outside. Officers spoke with all parties. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Sunday evening that his landlord was at his door in the 90 block of West First Street in Riverside yelling at him. Officers responded. The landlord was on his own property cutting wood.

 

Disorderly conduct

Subjects were reported gathering in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman Saturday afternoon and the caller believed they were preparing to fight. Officers responded. Unfounded.

A caller in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington reported Sunday afternoon that his 11-year-old son was out of control. Officers responded.

 

Liquor law violations

An officer reported conducting a field sobriety test on juveniles in South Park in Wellman Friday night. Elysia Mae Stastny, 17, of Kalona, was cited for .02 violation and possession of alcohol under the legal age. Charges of possession of a controlled substance are pending lab results. Megan Dawn Bontrager, 16, of Kalona, was cited for .02 violation and possession of alcohol under the legal age. Diego Favian Chavez, 15, of Wellman, was cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

 

Illegal dumping

At least one trash bag was put in a business dumpster in the 300 block of First Street in Kalona Friday morning. The trash belongs to a subject from Johnson County. Officers attempted to contact the owner.

 

Trespass

Some kids were reported playing on a pile of foam Sunday evening in the 800 block of East 15th Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Animal complaints

A subject in the 600 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington reportedly let several cats roam at large. Officers responded.

A caller reported Friday morning being bitten by a dog in the 1000 block of East Tyler Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A dog bite was reported Friday morning in the 1000 block of Circle Drive in Wellman. The dog was quarantines. Julie Anne Fisher of Wellman was cited for allowing a dog to run at large.

A loose dog was reported Friday afternoon in the 300 block of B Avenue in Kalona. Officers spoke with the owner.

A caller reported Friday evening a loose dog bit him on the leg on the Kewash Trail in Washington. The incident was documented.

A barking dog was reported Saturday evening in the 600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A loose dog was reported Sunday evening in the 900 block of Ninth Street in Kalona. William Watkinson was cited for allowing a dog to run at large.

Barking dogs were reported Sunday evening in the 800 block of 10th Street in Kalona. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Monday morning in the 800 block of 11th Street in Kalona. Officers responded.

 

DP&Q

Subjects were reported being loud in the 400 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Sunday afternoon in the 90 block of West First Street in Riverside. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A wallet was reported missing Friday morning in the 200 block of East Third Street in Riverside. The incident was documented.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington reported Friday night her husband left with the car after they were in an argument. Officers responded.

An incident between a mother and son that occurred in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington was reported Saturday afternoon. Officers spoke with the subjects. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 600 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington reported Monday morning that her boyfriend was being verbally and physically abusive to her and she wanted him to leave. Officers responded.

 

Suspicious activity

Possible drug activity was reported Friday afternoon in Central Park Square in Washington. Officers were advised.

An unlocked vehicle was reported ransacked Saturday evening in the 300 block of South D Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

Two vehicles were reported ransacked Saturday evening in the 700 block of South C Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported Sunday afternoon a woman that she did not know was in her camper with two of her children. Officers responded. The woman was a neighbor and her children were playing with the caller’s children.
