Cindy D. Steege, 40, of North Liberty, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for second-degree theft.
Martha Gutierrez Obregon, 49, of Muscatine, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 12000 block of County Road G56 in Columbus Junction for contempt of court.
A three-vehicle accident was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 200 block of First Street in Kalona. Officers, Kalona Fire, Kalona QRS, Kalona Rescue and Washington County Ambulance responded. Two subjects were transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. The vehicles were towed. Montana Hart was cited for failure to maintain control.
A two-vehicle accident was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Under $1,500 damage was reported. Information was exchanged.
A caller reported Wednesday night hitting a piece of rebar that was sticking out of a curb in the 200 block of East Washington Street and it flattened his tire. The incident was documented. County Roads was made aware and will handle the situation.
A possible gas leak was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 2900 block of 200th Street in Ainsworth. Officers responded. Alliant Energy was contacted.
Smoke was reported Wednesday evening on the third floor of a residence in the 1000 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded. There was a fire in a microwave. The fire was extinguished.
All other thefts
An iPod was reported stolen Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. The incident is under investigation.
A caller in the 300 block of West Fountain Street in Brighton reported Wednesday morning that a subject was continually calling the business after being asked not to. The subject claims that he scratched his motorcycle windshield while washing it at a business owned by the caller. Officers attempted to contact the subject.
A caller in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported Wednesday afternoon that a subject was bothering her daughter. Officers spoke with the subject’s mother.
A fight between two juveniles was reported Wednesday evening in the 600 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Dispatch received a second call of a fight between two subjects and the parties had separated. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.
A caller in the 2300 block of 275th Street in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon that tires, appliances, furniture, and construction stuff was illegally dumped on her property. Officers responded. A suspect was identified. The caller will try to work the situation out.
A subject in the emergency room reported Wednesday afternoon that a cat bit his left forearm in the 300 block of Center Street in West Chester. An incident reported will be filed. The cat will be quarantined.

A consent search was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.
A caller reported Wednesday night being en route to the police department with a located missing juvenile. Arrangements were made with the Department of Human Services for placement in a detention facility.
