Earl Rondnell Simmons, 39, of Fort Madison, was arrested Friday night in the 2500 block of 255th Street in Montrose on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for trial on a charge of driving under suspension.
Brandon Lucas Edgington, 41, of Wellman, was arrested Saturday morning in the 2300 block of 220th Street in Washington for OWI and failure to maintain control.
Yahdidah Jimenez, 21, of Columbus Junction, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for failure to appear on a charge of driving under suspension.
Seth Michael Copeland, 22, of Burlington, was arrested Monday morning in the 100 block of East Second Street in Washington for public intoxication and possession of prescription medication without a prescription. Todd Ewalt, 47, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for public intoxication. Charles Albert Miller Jr., 40, of Brighton, was arrested at the same time and location for public intoxication.
A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon in the 1900 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Larry Melancthon Jones of Idaho was cited for turning from an improper lane.
A one-vehicle accident was reported Friday night in the 2600 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers, Washington County Ambulance, Riverside Rescue, Riverside QRS and Riverside Fire responded. One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A four-wheeler accident was reported Saturday afternoon at 133rd and Nutmeg Avenue in Kalona. Officers were advised. The subject was transported by private vehicle.
A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Sunday night in the 2700 block of Airport road in Washington. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.
A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Monday morning at Highway 218 and 170th Street in Riverside Monday morning. Officers responded. The incident was documented.
Traffic stop serious
David Carroll Whiteaker Jr., 29, of Brighton, was cited Friday morning in the 400 block of South Harrison Street in Brighton for no driver’s license.
A caller reported Saturday morning that a bunch of people on motorcycles tried to run him over at South Iowa Avenue and Sitler Drive. Officers responded. No assault occurred.
Sex offender registry
A sex offender registry was reported Friday night in the 300 block of South C Avenue in Washington.
Suspicious items were reported found at the county dump in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 500 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon being the victim of fraudulent activity. The incident was documented.
A shoplifter was reported Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington. Helen Jean Hollingsworth, 58, of Washington, was cited for fifth-degree theft.
All other thefts
A purse containing a large amount of cash was reported stolen Sunday night in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers responded. The incident was documented.
A vehicle was reported vandalized Friday morning in the 500 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers spoke to the parents of a suspect.
Someone reportedly cut the linoleum in a camper Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of East Madison Street in Brighton.
A caller at Main and Cedar streets in West Chester reported Friday morning problems with girls leaving threatening messages on Facebook and her car. Officers responded and spoke with a suspect, who denied writing on the car. The subjects were advised to have no further contact.
A caller in the 2700 block of Havre Lane in Washington reported Friday evening receiving threatening and harassing text messages. Officers spoke with both parties and advised them to no longer have contact with each other.
A caller in the 500 block of Highway 92 in West Chester reported Sunday morning a subject kept calling her from an unknown number. Officers spoke with the caller and the subject. It was a wrong number.
A caller in the 600 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington reported Sunday evening a subject was harassing her son. The incident was documented.
A subject was reported Saturday morning in an apartment in the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington and he shouldn’t have been there. Officers responded. The subject was given until Tuesday to move out.
An officer was requested Friday afternoon in the 500 block of South Eighth Avenue in Washington Friday afternoon regarding harassing phone calls. Officers spoke with the caller.
A dog was reported tied outside Friday morning in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Washington that was so thin the caller could see its ribs. Officers advised checking on the dog in the past. It was a rescue dog that is being properly cared for.
A barking dog was reported Friday afternoon in the 300 block of North C Avenue in Washington. Officers responded but did not hear a dog barking.
A welfare check was requested Friday evening on a dog in the 3100 block of Highway 1 in Brighton. Officers responded. No problem.
A caller reported Sunday morning that about 15 horses were out at 220th Street and Tulip Avenue in Ainsworth. Officers responded.
A caller reported that a dog in the 300 block of North C Avenue in Washington did not have water Sunday afternoon. Officers responded. The dog had water when officers arrived.
About 12 cows were reported out in the 2600 block of Sockum Ridge Road in Washington Sunday night. The owner’s father was putting them in on officers’ arrival.

A possible scam was reported Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of West Street in West Chester. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 800 block of South C Avenue in Washington reported Sunday afternoon her 10-year-old son ran away from the residence. Officers attempted to locate. The juvenile later returned. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 2700 block of Fern Cliff Road in Wayland reported Sunday evening that a 17-year-old had left the residence. The subject was located and returned home.
A caller in the 1500 block of 140th Street in Wellman reported Sunday night that her 16-year-old son had not returned home. Officers were advised. The juvenile later returned home. The incident was documented.
Family offense non violent
A caller in the 1600 block of North Highland Avenue in Washington reported Sunday evening some incidents that his 13-year-old daughter had experienced while staying with her mother. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 2000 block of 250th Street in Washington reported Friday night hearing what sounded as if someone hit something and then gunshots. Officers were unable to locate anything suspicious.
A caller in the 700 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported Sunday afternoon a subject had been sending her daughter inappropriate texts since the beginning of June. Officers spoke with all subjects involved. It was harassment between all parties and all parties were advised to have no further contact.
A caller in the 1900 block of 140th Street in Wellman reported Monday morning that she had unwanted people in her home. The subjects were driving her vehicle, breaking things and taking her belongings. They had also hurt her roommate in the past and were threatening to do so again. Officers spoke with the caller. The caller needs to go through the proper eviction process.
A welfare check was requested Sunday morning on a subject in the 400 block of Fifth Street in Wellman.
