Melissa Ann Kauffman, 24, of Lake Mills, Wis., was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 1600 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington for failure to appear on a charge of fifth-degree theft.
Doyle Wayne Gingerich, 41, of Brighton, was arrested Wednesday night in the 200 block of South Van Buren Street in Brighton for failure to appear for fifth-degree theft.
Improperly parked vehicles were reported Wednesday afternoon in the 2900 block of 315th Street in Crawfordsville. Officers spoke with the owner and advised her that they needed to be moved. Two 24-hour tow tags were placed on the vehicles. The owner was also notified she needs to move debris out of the roadway. Officers will notify the engineer’s office of the outcome.
All other thefts
Vehicles in the 100 block of West 17th Street in Washington were reported gone through Wednesday morning. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington reported Wednesday evening that someone went through her unlocked car in her unlocked garage. A pair of shoes and a bag was missing. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 10 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington reported Wednesday morning her ex-boyfriend’s sister had threatened her. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 500 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington reported Wednesday morning that a subject had been harassing her friend for the past year. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 300 block of West Washington Street in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon two subjects were harassing him. Officers spoke with all parties. They were all advised to have no further contact.
A caller in the 200 block of South Van Buren Street in Brighton reported Wednesday night that a subject had a no-contact order with her husband and he was yelling at the caller and harassing her kids. Officers spoke with all parties. Conflicting stories. No one wanted to write a statement. The incident was documented. The subjects were advised to stay away from each other.
Subjects were reported Wednesday night in the 800 block of East Tyler Street in Washington yelling. There had been an argument between two subjects and they had calmed down.
Liquor law violations
Underage drinking was reported at a residence in the 800 block of East Tyler Street in Washington Wednesday night. Officers spoke with the subjects at the residence. No underage drinking was going on.
A dog reportedly went into the alley in the 100 block of South 10th Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.
All other offenses
A bike was reported stolen Wednesday afternoon in the 1100 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.
A self-ban patron was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside and had won a jackpot. DCI is not available. The casino called back to disregard after the subject left.
Fireworks were reported being set off Wednesday night in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona. Officers spoke with the subject. He will cease for the night.
Family offense non violent
An officer was requested to the 300 block of West Adams Street in Washington to have a subject contact the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. The subjects were located Wednesday afternoon.
Two subjects were reported missing from a residence in the 700 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington Wednesday morning. They are court ordered to be there per DHS and they did not return after the fair Tuesday night. Officers responded. DHS looked into the situation. The subjects returned and were accounted for.
A welfare check was requested Wednesday evening on a young child that was on the roof of a residence in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. The children were fine. Officers also contacted the father, who returned home.
An officer was requested Thursday morning to check on a subject sleeping in his car in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. No problem. The subject was tired and sleeping before making the rest of the trip home.
