Arrests

Clinton Allan Shalla, 47, of Kalona, was arrested Monday morning in the 2400 block of 150th Street in Kalona for contempt of court – illegal resistance to order or process.

Jimmy Ray James, 27, of Newton, was arrested Monday evening in the 2000 block of 150th Street in Fairfield for operating while intoxicated.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was reported in the 700 block of North B Avenue in Washington Monday afternoon and it had been there for six to eight weeks. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A subject reportedly got out of a truck in the 200 block of East First Street in Riverside and got sick. The caller thought it might be alcohol related. Officers responded. It was possibly food poisoning.

A caller reported Monday afternoon a vehicle was pulled over outside of her residence in the 1100 block of Highway 92 in Keota and a subject was yelling at the passenger. The truck then left. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

A narcotics violation was reported Monday afternoon in the City of Washington. The incident is under investigation.

 

Burglary

A caller in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Washington reported Monday afternoon someone broke into his apartment. A gaming system and an amplifier was missing. The incident is under investigation.

 

Vandalism

A van parked at West 11th Street and North Second Avenue in Washington had the driver’s side mirror ripped off, a caller reported Monday morning. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 100 block of 10th Avenue in Wellman reported Monday afternoon having a dispute with his neighbor over a property line. The subjects were referred to the assessor’s office and advised to stay away from each other.

 

Disorderly conduct

A disgruntled ex-employee’s mother was reported in a store in the 200 block of First Street in Kalona causing problems Monday afternoon. Three subjects were advised not to return.

 

Animal complaints

A subject in the 600 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington reportedly let several cats roam at large. Officers responded.

A caller reported Friday morning being bitten by a dog in the 1000 block of East Tyler Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A dog bite was reported Friday morning in the 1000 block of Circle Drive in Wellman. The dog was quarantines. Julie Anne Fisher of Wellman was cited for allowing a dog to run at large.

A loose dog was reported Friday afternoon in the 300 block of B Avenue in Kalona. Officers spoke with the owner.

A caller reported Friday evening a loose dog bit him on the leg on the Kewash Trail in Washington. The incident was documented.

A barking dog was reported Saturday evening in the 600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A loose dog was reported Sunday evening in the 900 block of Ninth Street in Kalona. William Watkinson was cited for allowing a dog to run at large.

Barking dogs were reported Sunday evening in the 800 block of 10th Street in Kalona. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Monday morning in the 800 block of 11th Street in Kalona. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Monday morning in the 1300 block of First Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

Loose dogs were reported Monday afternoon in the 800 block of North Eighth Avenue in Washington. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

A dog reportedly approached a subject Monday afternoon in the 1000 block of North Second Avenue in Washington and the subject wasn’t sure if the dog was going to be aggressive. The dog was in a garage when the subject called. The dogcatcher responded and picked up the dog.

 

DP&Q

Subjects were reported being loud in the 400 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Sunday afternoon in the 90 block of West First Street in Riverside. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported coming from a vehicle in the 400 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other offenses

A wallet was reported missing Friday morning in the 200 block of East Third Street in Riverside. The incident was documented.

Two subjects were reported driving a John Deere lawn mower around Sunset Park in Washington at high rates of speed Monday afternoon. Officers responded. The subjects were counseled.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 1700 block of 130th Street in Wellman reported Monday morning that his 17-year-old daughter wouldn’t come home. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington reported Friday night her husband left with the car after they were in an argument. Officers responded.

An incident between a mother and son that occurred in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington was reported Saturday afternoon. Officers spoke with the subjects. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 600 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington reported Monday morning that her boyfriend was being verbally and physically abusive to her and she wanted him to leave. Officers responded.

A 14-year-old subject was reported out of control Monday evening in the 400 block of C Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded.

A caller in the 100 block of Fifth Street in Wellman reported Monday evening that her mother and mother’s ex-husband were fighting. Officers responded.

 

Suspicious activity

Possible drug activity was reported Friday afternoon in Central Park Square in Washington. Officers were advised.

An unlocked vehicle was reported ransacked Saturday evening in the 300 block of South D Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

Two vehicles were reported ransacked Saturday evening in the 700 block of South C Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported Sunday afternoon a woman that she did not know was in her camper with two of her children. Officers responded. The woman was a neighbor and her children were playing with the caller’s children.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 400 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported Monday morning that an ex-employee was refusing to give him the keys to the business. Officers responded. The subject was unable to locate the keys. It was a civil issue.
