Arrests

Justin Allan Dennis, 20, of Washington, was arrested Friday morning in the 400 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington on a warrant for prohibited acts manufacturing meth.

Justin Allan Dennis, 20, of Washington, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 400 block of East Second Street in Washington for two counts of forgery and two counts of fifth-degree theft.

Casey Dean Ruenger, 47, of Washington, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 100 block of West Madison Street in Washington for fifth-degree theft.

Bodhi Eagle, 20, of Washington, was arrested Friday afternoon at West Washington Street and South Iowa Avenue in Washington for contempt.

Corey Alan Barcus, 24, of Washington, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 2500 block of 305th Street in Washington on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Edward Eugene Goff, 34, of Washington, was arrested Saturday evening in the 100 block of East 11th Street in Washington for disorderly conduct and assault causing bodily injury. Todd Allen Cleverley, 46, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for disorderly conduct and Scott County warrants for stay mittimus on OWI and failure to appear on OWI.

Jeffrey D. Wilschke, 32, of Madison, Wis., was arrested Saturday night at Highway 218 and 175th Street in Ainsworth for possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating without registration. Zachary Ryan Marinan, 26, of Davenport, was arrested at the same time and location for possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Charges filed

Charges were filed July 18 on Mariah Shanique Brown, 17, of Washington, for second-degree theft.

 

Traffic accidents

A caller reported Friday morning his car was peppered with gravel from a dump truck and the windshield cracked Friday morning at Vine Avenue and 175th Street in Riverside. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Saturday morning at Highway 22 and Seventh Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

A vehicle reportedly smashed through a fence Saturday afternoon in the 1100 block of Tulip Avenue in Riverside. A piece of the vehicle was still on the property. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Saturday night possibly hitting something while driving on Highway 218 in Riverside, as her airbag had deployed and the hood of her vehicle was smashed in. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Sunday morning being sideswiped on Highway 92 in West Chester. Officers responded. The incident was documented. Keokuk County located the suspect vehicle unoccupied.

An accident was reported Sunday afternoon in the 1300 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman. A vehicle was in the ditch. Officers responded. Over $1,500 damage was reported.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was reported parked on the grass Sunday morning in the 500 block of South Eighth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The vehicle was properly parked.

 

Fire calls

A fire alarm was reported Friday afternoon in the 30 block of Locust Lane in Washington. Washington Fire Department and officers responded.

A gas leak was reported Sunday evening in the 1100 block of East Third Street in Washington. A knob on the stove had been left on since Friday. Washington Fire Department, Alliant Energy, and officers responded.

 

Assault

A caller in the 600 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported her 8-year-old son was chasing his grandmother with a knife trying to stab her. Officers responded. Unfounded.

A caller in the 3000 block of Coppock Road in Washington reported Saturday afternoon being assaulted at a party the previous night. The incident is under investigation.

A caller reported Sunday night his “ex” shoved her way into his house, tore his shirt and swung at him. Officers responded. The subject was advised she is no longer allowed on the property.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

A suspicious item was located in a yard in the 800 block of South B Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. A wooden pipe was seized.

 

Motor vehicle theft

A vehicle was reported stolen Saturday morning in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers responded. The vehicle was located.

 

All other thefts

An iPhone was reported stolen Friday night in the 2200 block of 250th Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A truck was reported gone through Saturday morning at the Washington Fairgrounds in Washington. A DVD player and iPod were stolen. The incident was documented.

A theft was reported Saturday morning in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers responded.

A caller in the 500 block of West Second Street in Washington reported Sunday morning a cell phone had been stolen. Officers spoke with the caller.

 

Vandalism

A caller in the 600 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Saturday afternoon her children saw a subject come onto their property and stab three bicycle seats with a knife. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller reported Friday morning that a subject was harassing her in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1100 block of Larch Avenue in Kalona reported a situation with her ex-boyfriend Sunday morning. The incident was documented.

 

Disorderly conduct

Two subjects were reported getting into an altercation Friday night in the 2200 block of 250th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Prowlers

A loud noise was reported Monday morning in the 900 block of South Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded and were unable to locate any sign of anyone.

 

Illegal dumping

A caller reported Friday evening that 10 bags of garbage had been dumped in the 1300 block of Dogwood Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded and spoke with the owner of the bags.

 

Animal complaints

A subject was reported bitten on the right hand by his own dog Friday afternoon in the 1300 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A dog was reported inside a parked van Friday evening in the 500 block of South Highway 1 in Washington and the windows were barely cracked. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Friday evening in the 100 block of South Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. A verbal warning was given.

A snapping turtle was reported in a driveway in the 800 block of Seventh Street in Kalona. Officers responded and transported the turtle to a more appropriate area.

Two loose dogs were reported Saturday morning in the 100 block of North Pine Street in Crawfordsville. Officers responded. Messages were left for the owner.

A dog reportedly bit a subject Sunday morning in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A loose dog was reported Sunday afternoon in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Brighton. Officers responded. The owner retrieved the dog.

 

DP&Q

Subjects in the 700 block of East Fourth Street in Washington were reported being loud and revving an ATV engine Friday night. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of East 15th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A construction company reportedly damaged a fence Saturday evening at Juniper and 140th Street in Kalona. The incident was documented. The owner will contact the company regarding the damage.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington reported Friday afternoon her grandson had walked away from home. The juvenile was located.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported Friday afternoon someone was in side his trailer and it appeared they had tried to burn something on his coffee table. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A suspicious vehicle with an older couple in it was reported taking pictures of properties in the 1100 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 700 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Friday morning signing the title of her vehicle over to a subject who had not returned her plates. Officers spoke with the caller.
