Traffic accidents

An accident was reported Monday morning in the 1400 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

A dumpster reportedly rolled into a vehicle Monday afternoon in the 100 block of First Street in Kalona. Information was exchanged. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Monday afternoon at 305th Street and Highway 218 in Crawfordsville. Washington County Ambulance, Washington County rescue, Crawfordsville Fire Department, Crawfordsville QRS and officers responded. Judith Watson of Crawfordsville was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Robert Alan Rettig of Burlington was cited for driving under bar and failure to have an SR22 on file. Two patients were transported to Henry County Hospital. Both vehicles were towed.

 

Fire calls

A caller in the 2400 block of 180th Street in Riverside reported Monday evening that a tree felon her grill and it was smoldering. She did not see any flames, but advised it was located near a propane tank. Kalona Fire was disregarded due to the caller getting help removing the tree from the grill.

 

Fraud

A possible scam situation was reported Monday afternoon in the 1200 Maple Avenue in Kalona. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A theft was reported Saturday morning in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers responded.

A caller in the 500 block of West Second Street in Washington reported Sunday morning a cell phone had been stolen. Officers spoke with the caller.

Several tools were reported stolen out of the back of a truck Monday morning in the 400 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 3300 block of 190th Street in Columbus Junction reported Monday afternoon that a subject drove his tractor up to the caller’s driveway to report another subject had stolen his cell phone and pills. Officers responded. Unfounded.

A caller in the 600 block of Park Street in Ainsworth reported Monday evening her sister took her sofa and sold it. Officers spoke with both subjects. It was a civil issue.

 

Vandalism

A caller in the 600 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Saturday afternoon her children saw a subject come onto their property and stab three bicycle seats with a knife. The incident was documented.

A coment statue was reportedly knocked off a tree stump Monday morning and one of its wings was broken. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller reported Friday morning that a subject was harassing her in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Saturday morning that a subject was harassing her via text. Officers spoke with the subject. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1100 block of Larch Avenue in Kalona reported a situation with her ex-boyfriend Sunday morning. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1000 block of East Adams Street in Washington reported Monday afternoon a couple was harassing and threatening him. The incident was documented.

 

Disorderly conduct

Two subjects were reported getting into an altercation Friday night in the 2200 block of 250th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A caller in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported Monday evening three subjects were attempting to start something with her and put their hands on her. Officers responded. Four subjects were banned from the pool for the remainder of the summer.

Dispatch reported Monday night being on 911 with a subject in the 300 block of South Benton Street in Brighton. Dispatch was unsure of the issue, but it possibly had something to do with a knife. Officers responded. The caller stated he was having an issue with the neighbors. Officers spoke with both parties.

 

Liquor law violation

A subject was reported in the parking lot in the 1500 block of East Washington Street asking people for money. She left carrying an open can of beer. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Prowlers

A loud noise was reported Monday morning in the 900 block of South Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded and were unable to locate any sign of anyone.

 

Intoxicated pedestrian

An intoxicated subject was reported Tuesday morning in the 500 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The subject left.

 

Illegal dumping

A caller reported Friday evening that 10 bags of garbage had been dumped in the 1300 block of Dogwood Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded and spoke with the owner of the bags.

 

Animal complaints

A subject was reported bitten on the right hand by his own dog Friday afternoon in the 1300 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A dog was reported inside a parked van Friday evening in the 500 block of South Highway 1 in Washington and the windows were barely cracked. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Friday evening in the 100 block of South Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. A verbal warning was given.

A snapping turtle was reported in a driveway in the 800 block of Seventh Street in Kalona. Officers responded and transported the turtle to a more appropriate area.

Two loose dogs were reported Saturday morning in the 100 block of North Pine Street in Crawfordsville. Officers responded. Messages were left for the owner.

A dog reportedly bit a subject Sunday morning in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A loose dog was reported Sunday afternoon in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Brighton. Officers responded. The owner retrieved the dog.

 

DP&Q

Subjects in the 700 block of East Fourth Street in Washington were reported being loud and revving an ATV engine Friday night. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of East 15th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

All other offenses

A construction company reportedly damaged a fence Saturday evening at Juniper and 140th Street in Kalona. The incident was documented. The owner will contact the company regarding the damage.

An abandoned bicycle was reported Monday morning in the 400 block of West Van Buren Street in Washington. Officers took it to the bike shed.

An officer was requested Monday morning in the 200 block of East Second Street in Washington Monday morning in reference to neighbors’ dispute over mowing the yard and blowing yard clippings. The neighbors were advised to no longer blow their clippings into the caller’s yard.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington reported Friday afternoon her grandson had walked away from home. The juvenile was located.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 700 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported Monday afternoon that her granddaughter and her boyfriend were at the residence accusing her of stealing things. Officers responded. The parties were separated.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported Friday afternoon someone was in side his trailer and it appeared they had tried to burn something on his coffee table. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A suspicious vehicle with an older couple in it was reported taking pictures of properties in the 1100 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A suspicious vehicle was reported driving back and forth on the street in front of a residence in the 100 block of Fifth Street in Wellman Monday afternoon. Officers were unable to locate.

Suspicious items were reported located Monday night in the 600 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The items were confiscated.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 700 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Friday morning signing the title of her vehicle over to a subject who had not returned her plates. Officers spoke with the caller.
