Arrests

Aaron Allen Jarvis, 37, of Marion, was arrested Friday evening in the 4500 block of Melrose Avenue in Iowa City for failure to appear for initial on driving under suspension.

Robert Allen Lothridge, 38, of Iowa City, was arrested Saturday afternoon at the Highway 218 and Highway 22 ramp in Riverside for driving while barred.

Austin Taylor Bickelhaupt, 22, of Riverside, was arrested Saturday night in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for public intoxication and interference with official acts.

Kelvin Dawley, 22, of Washington, was arrested Sunday evening in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington for robbery, simple assault, theft and public intoxication.

Justin Leeroy Goodman, 33, of Rose Hill, was arrested Sunday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a state patrol warrant for OWI and driving while barred.

 

Charges filed

Charles Albert Miller Jr., 40, of Brighton, was given an additional charge of possession of prescription drugs after a July 14 arrest.

 

Traffic accidents

A caller in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth reported Friday morning that her vehicle was damaged. She reported that a semi had rolled forward and hit her parked truck. Insurance information was exchanged. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Saturday morning that his truck was hit while it was parked in the 1400 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Sunday afternoon in the 2000 block of 250th Street in Washington with multiple injuries. Officers, Washington County Ambulance, Washington Fire, Washington County Rescue, Iowa State Patrol, Air Care, Med Force 2 Air Ambulance and a medical examiner responded. A funeral home was contacted. Four patients were transported to Washington County Hospital and Clinics. One patient was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

 

Traffic stop serious

A traffic stop was reported Friday morning in the 200 block of Highway 1 in Washington.

Bradley Thomas Allen, 45, of Wellman, was cited Saturday morning at Highway 22 and First Avenue in Wellman for failure to have a valid driver’s license.

 

Traffic other

Officers reported Friday morning receiving an anonymous report of a video posted on Facebook with subjects driving in unknown parks of Washington County without using headlights. The video shows the subjects nearly hitting a semi. The subjects also went through an intersection without stopping at the stop sign. Officers spoke with a suspect and her father, who will handle the issue.

A caller in the 1400 block of West Fifth Street in Washington reported Saturday night a vehicle pulled onto the KeWash Trail and she heard subjects talking. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

A vehicle stop was reported Saturday night at Highway 22 and red oak Avenue in Riverside. Charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia are pending lab results.

 

Burglary

A burglary was reported Friday morning at a business in the 1000 block of Sixth Street in Wellman. No theft was reported. The front door was damaged. A report will be filed.

A caller in the 600 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Saturday morning that someone attempted to break into the front door of their house. They gained entry to the garage and moved the motorcycle. Loose change was taken.

About $400 in quarters was reported stolen Sunday morning in the 1000 block of West Monroe Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman reported Friday morning that a subject opened a bank account using his information and without his knowledge of what he was signing. The caller reported he had lost several thousand dollars that were then direct deposited to this account that he had no access to. Officers spoke with the caller.

Fraudulent activity was reported Friday afternoon in the 200 block of Elmer Street in West Chester. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A gas drive-off in the amount of $60 was reported Friday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The subject later returned and paid. The incident was documented.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $20 was reported Friday evening in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The subject later returned and paid.

A purse containing ID, keys and a phone was reported stolen Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of First Street in Kalona.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $10.01 was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The subject returned and paid for the gas.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $10.36 was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded and contacted the registered owner. The subject returned and paid.

An officer was requested Sunday evening in the 300 block of North C Avenue in Washington in reference to a possible stolen gun. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.

 

Vandalism

Spray paint was reported on vehicles and bathrooms Friday morning in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington. No damage to property. The paint wiped off.

A gold stripe was reported painted on a vehicle Friday morning in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. The paint wiped off. A report will be filed.

Black permanent marker was reported on a vehicle in the 700 block of South B Avenue in Washington Friday morning. A report will be filed.

A vehicle was reported vandalized Friday morning in the 800 block of South B Avenue in Washington. A report will be filed.

Spray paint vandalism was reported to a garage in the 1000 block of South B Avenue in Washington Friday morning. Officers responded. Spray paint was also located on barricades at Sitler Drive.

A caller reported Friday morning her vehicle in the 500 block of South B Avenue in Washington was vandalized with black permanent marker. Officers spoke with the caller.

A vehicle in the 500 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington was reported vandalized with gold spray paint Friday morning.

A vehicle was reported vandalized Friday afternoon in the 800 block of South B Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A house in the 500 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington was reported spray-painted Friday night. The incident was documented.

Vandalism was reported done to diving boards and slides in the aquatic park in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded.

Subjects reportedly vandalized a tractor Saturday afternoon in the 2900 block of Highway 1 in Washington. It was a civil issue.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 400 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported a subject was threatening and harassing her. The parties were advised to have no further contact. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported Friday afternoon a subject was harassing her by phone and had hacked into her Facebook page and was posting things there. Officers spoke with both parties.

A caller in the 800 block of South Second Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon a subject kept driving by her residence. The caller also reported the subject was sending numerous text messages and constantly calling. Officers spoke with the subject, who was trying to contact his wife, whom he believed was with the caller. He was advised to cease contact or charges would be filed.

A caller in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported Saturday evening that a subject was harassing her and had threatened to hit her with a vehicle. Officers attempted to locate.

A possible violation of a no-contact order was reported Sunday evening in the 2900 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of North Ella Street in Riverside reported Sunday night a subject was harassing her. The incident was documented.

 

Liquor law violations

Amado Marcelino, 19, of Washington, and Cirilo Marcelino Gemartino, 17, of Washington, were cited Saturday morning in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

 

Trespass

Two subjects on four-wheelers in the 3100 block of 115th Street in Riverside were reported on a private lane Saturday afternoon. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 2300 block of Akelana Drive in Kalona reported Saturday evening a subject kept coming on his property. Officers were unable to contact the subject. The incident was documented.

 

Animal complaints

A dog was reported apparently hit by a car in the 3300 block of Coppock Road in Wayland Friday morning. Officers responded and spoke with the owner. The dog was fine and hadn’t been hit. The dog is old and has hip problems.

A dog was reported on the caller’s property Friday afternoon in the 700 block of 11th Avenue in Wellman. A verbal warning was given for allowing a dog to run at large.

An injured deer was reported Friday night at Elm Avenue and 260th Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

A dog was reported sitting in a vehicle in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington Saturday afternoon. Officers spoke with the owner.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Saturday evening in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A 3-year-old was reported walking in the 200 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington Friday afternoon. A younger subject was also found pushing a strolled. The juveniles were returned to their mother.

Juveniles were reported flagging traffic down and laying in the street in Friday evening in the 600 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

A possible domestic situation was reported Friday evening in the 200 block of South D Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A domestic call was reported Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of Angle Street in Brighton. Officers and Jefferson County officers responded.

A caller in the 600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Sunday evening his door had been kicked in. The incident is under investigation.

 

Suspicious activity

A suspicious item was reported located in a store in the 1900 block of East Washington Street in Washington Friday afternoon. The item was seized.

Suspicious activity was reported Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate. The incident was documented.

A door to a residence in the 400 block of East Fountain Street in Brighton was reportedly standing open Saturday afternoon and no one was around. Officers responded. The house was secured.

A subject was reported sleeping in bushes Sunday morning in the 1000 block of Walnut Avenue in Riverside. Officers responded. The subject will be on his way home.

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 400 block of North Ella Street in Riverside reported Friday night a family member had dropped their daughter off in Iowa City earlier and had not made it home. The subject was located.

A welfare check was requested Saturday afternoon on a subject in the 200 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington. Officers responded.
