Arrests

Christina Marie Null, 37, of Washington, was arrested Friday morning in the 300 block of North D Avenue in Washington for possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture.

David Allen Knerr, 55, of Washington, was arrested Friday morning in the 2700 block of Coppock Road in Washington on a Cedar County warrant for contempt on fail to appear on show cause hearing.

Courtney Marie Paul, 27, of Washington, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 300 block of North D Avenue in Washington for possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture.

Ryan Allen Craig, 18, of Burlington, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington for second-degree theft.

Jorge Aguirre, 24, of Washington, was arrested Saturday afternoon at Second Avenue and Seventh Street in Washington for possession of a controlled substance.

Vincent Smallwood, 34, of Washington, was arrested Monday morning in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington for disorderly conduct.

 

Traffic accidents

A rollover accident was reported Friday morning in the 1200 block of Highway 1 in Kalona. Kalona QRS, Kalona Fire, Washington County Ambulance and officers responded. Christian David Allen, 17, of Kalona, was cited for driving under suspension and failure to maintain control.

A caller reported Saturday afternoon that his vehicle was hit while it was parked in the 1000 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

A vehicle reportedly struck a mailbox and a tree Saturday evening in the 2600 block of 220th Street in Washington. Officers responded. The vehicle was towed.

 

Traffic other

A caller in the 800 block of East 15th Street in Washington reported Friday afternoon that a truck driver had driven into his yard and caused damage. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reported in the 400 block of East Polk Street in Washington Saturday afternoon travelling at a high rate of speed. Officers located the vehicle and counseled the driver.

Subjects were reported riding around on a golf cart at North Second and Fifth Street in Washington Sunday afternoon. Officers responded and advised the subjects of the golf cart regulations.

James John Louros, 23, of Fairfield, was cited Sunday afternoon in the 2100 block of Highway 1 in Washington for driving under suspension and expired registration.

 

Medical call

A rollover accident was reported Saturday afternoon in the 2800 block of 220th Street in Ainsworth. Ainsworth QRS, Ainsworth Fire, Washington County Rescue, Washington County Ambulance and officers responded. Alice Suzanne Ross of Cameron, Texas, was cited for failure to maintain control.

 

Fire calls

A fire alarm was reported Friday afternoon in the 100 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded. It was a false alarm.

A house fire was reported Saturday night in the 20000 block of County Line Road in Columbus Junction. Ainsworth Fire, Washington Fire, Columbus Junction Fire, Washington County Ambulance and officers responded.

Possible illegal burning was reported Saturday night in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.

Subjects were reported burning trash Sunday morning in the 500 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers spoke with the subjects. A verbal warning was given.

Subjects were reported burning Sunday night in the 700 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded. No illegal burning was found.

A gas smell was reported Sunday night in the 2900 block of 180th Street in Ainsworth. Riverside Fire responded.

 

Physical child abuse

A caller in the 100 block of South Second Avenue in Washington reported Friday night her mother hit her younger sister in the back extremely hard. The incident is under investigation.

 

Motor vehicle theft

A truck was reported stolen Saturday afternoon in the 3200 block of 190th Street in Washington. Officers responded. There was a mechanic’s lien on it and it had been repossessed.

 

All other thefts

A bag of tobacco and a paper were reported stolen Saturday morning in the 300 block of East Main Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

Medication was reported missing Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Brighton. The incident was documented.

 

Vandalism

A vehicle was reported vandalized Saturday afternoon in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

An attempted break-in was reported Saturday evening in the 500 block of B Avenue in Kalona. The incident was documented.

A subject reportedly popped a tire on a vehicle in the 500 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers located the subject. The vehicle belongs to the subject and he was stopping to look at it.

A vehicle in the 600 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington was reported egged Monday morning. The incident is under investigation.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 700 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported Friday afternoon being harassed via Facebook and phone. Officers responded.

A caller reported Friday afternoon that she was receiving phone calls from out of state in reference to a college application. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 2900 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported Friday evening that a subject had contacted her again. Officers spoke with both parties.

An officer was requested Saturday evening in the 200 block of South Farmer Street in Brighton in reference to an incident that occurred earlier. The incident was documented.

A subject was reported in the 600 block of East Madison Street in Washington harassing the caller and her friends. Officers spoke with both parties.

 

Trespass

A caller in the 2400 block of Kiwi Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning that someone was trespassing on her property. They had removed part of her fence and had been driving ATVs through it. Officers responded. The person who rents her land had given permission.

 

Intoxicated pedestrian

Randy Paul Martin, 58, of Washington, was cited Sunday night at F Avenue and Monroe Street in Washington for public intoxication.

 

Hang-up 911 calls

Dispatch received several 911 calls Saturday morning from the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington from a 2-year-old girl. Officers responded. No problem.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Friday night in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers responded. Three other callers also reported loud music. Officers responded.

An abandoned bike was reported Saturday morning in the 1300 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. It was taken to the bike shed.

A subject reportedly pulled into the caller’s driveway in the 1000 block of Highways 1 and 78 in Richland and they have a no-contact order. Officers spoke with the caller. The subject had made threats to harm the caller and his ex-wife. Charges are pending.

A caller in the 1000 block of West Monroe Street in Washington reported Sunday afternoon that someone washed a bunch of mulch out of their car and it had to be cleaned up by hand. The subjects were banned from the business.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 300 block of East Polk Street in Washington reported Friday evening her 14-year-old son was out of control. Officers responded.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington was reported watching the caller’s children as well as other children in the area. Officers responded. The subject was using an electrical outlet to charge his phone.

 

Public service contact

An officer was requested Saturday morning in the 200 block of North D Avenue in Washington to assist the caller’s husband. Officers responded.

A caller at West 18th Street and North Marion Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning he was lost after a friend left him and he tried to walk home. Officers responded and gave him a ride.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 300 block of West Washington Street in Brighton reported Friday evening that he allowed a subject to borrow his tiller. The subject did not return it or pay for it and advised he had sold it. Officers responded. It was a civil dispute.

A caller in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona reported Sunday afternoon that an employee was terminated and was told to return her key before she left and she left without doing so. Officers retrieved the key and returned it.
