Arrests

Theodore Mark McCombs, 42, of Oskaloosa, was arrested Thursday afternoon at Kiwi Avenue and Highway 22 in Kalona for OWI.

Anthony Joseph Corso, 50, of Kalona, was arrested Friday morning at Sixth Street and Highway 22 in Wellman for OWI, interference with official acts, open container and speeding.

Allen John Young, 20, of Wellman, was arrested Friday afternoon at 11th Street and First Avenue in Wellman for OWI and open container.

Chase Jordan Oxley, 19, of Wellman, was arrested Saturday morning in the 300 block of 10th Avenue in Wellman for domestic abuse assault.

Andrew Jack Williams, 26, of Keokuk, was arrested Saturday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a State Patrol warrant for failure to appear on driving under suspension.

Jamie Helena Stringer, 19, of Coralville, was arrested Saturday night in the 2000 block of Nutmeg Avenue in Washington for possession of a controlled substance and possession of prescription drugs. Shyandra Tantana Wortham, 27, of Fairfield, was arrested at the same time and location for possession of a controlled substance marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wortham was also wanted in Johnson County for failure to appear for fifth-degree theft.

Anthony Latanzio, 36, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 800 block of South Third Avenue in Washington for public intoxication.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle reportedly backed into the pop machine in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington Thursday afternoon. Information was exchanged.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Thursday afternoon in the 100 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. Under $1,500 damage. Cleo Edward Baughman of Washington was cited for unsafe backing.

A vehicle in the 800 block of West Monroe Street in Washington was reported hit Friday morning. The incident was documented.

An accident was reported Friday afternoon in the 5400 block of Sharon Center in Kalona. Units responded to assist Johnson County.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday night at Highway 92 and Ivy Avenue in West Chester.

A caller reported striking a deer Friday night at Highway 1 and West Fifth Street in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday night at Highways 218 and 22 in Riverside.

A vehicle reportedly struck two other vehicles Saturday morning in the 3000 block of Quince Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. A second call was made reporting multiple assaults.

A truck was reported in a ditch at Highway 218 and 287th Street in Crawfordsville Saturday morning. Officers responded. Arrangements had been made to have the vehicle towed. The incident was documented.

A vehicle reportedly spun out and went into the ditch Saturday afternoon in the 1200 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The vehicle was towed.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Sunday morning at Highway 1 and 170th Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Sunday afternoon in the 500 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Information was exchanged.

 

Traffic stop serous

Tonya Rene Cole, 40, of Washington, was cited Sunday afternoon at West Madison and South C Avenue in Washington for permitting an unauthorized minor to drive.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was reported parked facing the wrong direction and two others were parked at the end of a driveway in the 800 block of Second Place in Kalona. Officers issued a warning to the vehicle parked facing the wrong direction.

Three subjects were reported in a vehicle in the 500 block of Highway 1 in Washington not buckled in. officers spoke with the driver.

A vehicle was reported stopped at Eighth Avenue and Second Street in Wellman Saturday morning. The subject was programming her GPS.

An officer was reported out with a subject who appeared intoxicated and wrecked his bike in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman.

A vehicle was reported mud running Sunday afternoon at Nutmeg and 220th Street in Washington.

 

Fire calls

Possible illegal burning was reported Thursday evening in the 900 block of East 11th Street in Washington. Officers responded. Subjects were asked to put the fire out.

A fire was reported Thursday evening at 11th Street and E Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded. It was a controlled burn.

A caller reported smelling smoke Friday morning at Palm Street and Vine Street in Riverside. An unattended fire was located. The fire was extinguished.

 

Assault

A caller in the 3000 block of Quince Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning that his son was assaulted and kidnapped. Two other subjects were also reported assaulted. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Motor vehicle theft

A vehicle was reported stolen Sunday morning from a residence in the 200 block of 10th Avenue in Wellman.

 

Fraud

A possible counterfeit bill was reported Thursday afternoon at South Marion Avenue and West Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. Unfounded.

 

All other thefts

Someone reportedly took a tire and rim Thursday afternoon in the 700 block of C Avenue in Kalona. Officers spoke with a witness. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 3200 block of Vine Avenue in Crawfordsville reported Saturday afternoon that his girlfriend had took the key fab to his motorcycle and threw it in the ditch. Officers spoke with the girlfriend who returned the key fab.

A bag of charcoal was reported stolen Sunday evening in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington. The incident was documented.

A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of West Monroe Street in Washington Sunday evening.

 

Vandalism

A mailbox in the 1600 block of Highway 92 in Keota was reported struck Saturday morning. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of South Sixth Avenue in Washington reported Saturday night that someone scratched her vehicle. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller reported Thursday afternoon two subject were harassing her. Officers spoke with all parties. They were advised to have no further contact.

A dispute was reported Thursday evening in the 1200 block of North Third Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The parties were separated.

A caller in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported Friday evening a subject was harassing her on Facebook. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

Two subjects were reported in an altercation Saturday evening in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Disorderly conduct

A verbal dispute was reported Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington.

A fight was reported Friday morning in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers responded. Verbal only.

 

Trespass

A caller reported Thursday afternoon that someone trespassed in his house without his permission on June 20. The incident was documented.

 

Liquor law violations

Kyra Jo Alexander, 17, of Washington, was cited Sunday morning in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington for .02 violation.

 

Animal complaints

An emaciated dog was reported Thursday morning in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Washington. The dog had been rescued from another residence and had not gained its weight back yet. No problem. Dog had food and water.

Two loose pitbulls were reported Thursday morning in the 300 block of east Second Street in Washington. Officers located the dogs. The dogcatcher picked up the dogs. The owner called in.

An injured deer was reported Thursday morning in the 2700 block of 260th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A german shepherd was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of East Third Street in Washington that neighbors had let go about a week ago. It was still in the area and appeared hungry. Officers spoke with the neighbors, who advised their dog got loose and they had no intention of getting rid of it.

A dog without a collar was reported in the 1000 block of East Third Street in Washington Sunday morning. Officers responded.

A dog was reported in a vehicle in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington Sunday afternoon. Officers responded and spoke with the owner.

 

DP&Q

Subjects were reported shooting off fireworks Thursday night in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded.

Subjects were reported shooting off fireworks Friday night at Sixth Avenue and Fifth Street in Wellman. Officers were unable to locate.

Loud music was reported coming from a residence in the 2300 block of Spruce Avenue in Washington Friday night. Officers responded.

A subject was reported shooting off fireworks Friday night in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona. Officers responded. The subject denied doing it.

Subjects were reported lighting fireworks Saturday morning at First Avenue and Fifth Street in Wellman Saturday morning. Officers were unable to locate.

Fireworks were reported Saturday night in the 2100 block of Elm Avenue in Keota. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A caller in the 800 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Thursday evening a vehicle tried to run him off the road.

A possibly intoxicated subject was reported Thursday night in the 1400 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside.

Someone reportedly broke into a vehicle in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside Thursday night. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1100 block of East Main Street in Washington reported Friday night that fireworks possibly hit her residence. Officers responded.

A young child was reported outside Saturday night in the 200 block of South Van Buren Street in Brighton. Officers responded. The child was returned home.

A possible altercation was reported Saturday night in the 2700 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Officers responded. Unfounded.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 200 block of East Third Street in Washington reported Sunday night that he was having an argument with his girlfriend and wanted an officer to get her to leave. An ambulance was requested due to the subject being injured prior to officers’ arrival. Verbal only.

 

Suspicious activity

A smoke detector was reported going off Sunday morning at a residence in the 100 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A welfare check was requested Friday afternoon in the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington. Officers responded.

An ammonia smell was reported Friday afternoon in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.
