Arrests

Kala Jean Kading, 28, of Riverside, was arrested Friday morning in the 100 block of Railroad Street in Riverside for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Patrick Vincent Taitague, 44, of Ottumwa, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of Highways 1 and 78 in Brighton for driving under suspension and no proof of insurance.

Ryan Austin Derby, 26, of Richland, was arrested Friday night in the 900 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington for fourth degree criminal mischief.

Timothy Taylor Hall, 32, of Washington, was arrested Saturday afternoon at Seventh Avenue and Jefferson Street in Washington for driving while barred and failure to show proof of insurance.

Mary Megan Jenkins, 36, of Washington, was arrested Sunday afternoon at F and Madison Street in Washington for driving under revocation and OWI.

Amanda Louise Marie Pickering, 30, of Washington, was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of East Madison Street in Washington for assault/domestic abuse. Ernest Lee Shaw, 40, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for assault/domestic abuse.

Kimberly Diane Redmann, 38, of Kalona, was arrested Sunday night at Lexington and Highway 1 in Washington on a warrant for failure to appear for mittimus on possession of marijuana.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday morning at Highway 218 in Ainsworth. The vehicle was drivable. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 100 block of E Avenue in Kalona reported Friday afternoon being sideswiped. Officers responded. Zachary Lara of Kalona was cited for turning from the wrong lane and expired registration.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Sunday morning at Highway 1 and 170th Street in Kalona.

 

Intoxicated driver

A possibly intoxicated subject reportedly hit several people with his mud running truck Saturday evening at Taylor and Madison in Brighton. Officers responded. The subjects were putting the truck on a trailer when the winch when the truck jerked, scaring the woman and she fell over. No one was driving the truck.

A subject reportedly left the store in the 500 block of South Highway 1 in Washington Sunday afternoon and she was possibly intoxicated. The subject reportedly was driving with a child in the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle already parked and no one was around.

 

Disabled vehicles

An improperly parked vehicle was reported Sunday morning in the 700 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington. Officers chalked the tires.

 

Traffic other

A motor home pulling a car was reported camping in the non-camping area of Kalona City Park in Kalona Friday morning. Officers spoke with the owners.

Traimann Romar Waggoner-Johnson, 25, of Kalona, was cited Friday morning in the 1600 block of Highway 22 in Wellman for driving under suspension.

Victor Elloitt Frederick III, 33, of Riverside, was cited Friday afternoon at Poplar and Highway 22 in Kalona for driving under suspension and improper registration.

A high-speed chase was reported Sunday morning on Highway 218 southbound. Officers and Johnson County units responded. Washington County Rescue was placed on stand-by. The vehicle was stopped at Highway 1 and 220th Street in Washington. Johnson County arrested Nancy Ruth Kuntz of Coralville.

 

Fire calls

A grass fire was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of Highway 1 in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department responded.

A chicken house was reported full of smoke Sunday afternoon in the 1200 block of Fir Avenue in Wellman. Wellman Fire, Wellman QRS, Kalona Fire, Keota Fire, South English Fire, Washington County Ambulance and officers responded.

 

Assault

A caller in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington requested to speak with an officer Friday afternoon in reference to her son being assaulted on June 10. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1200 block of Fir Avenue in Wellman reported Friday afternoon her mother assaulted her. Officers responded. The parties were separated.

A caller in the 700 block of 11th Street in Wellman reported Saturday evening being assaulted. Officers responded.

 

All other thefts

A theft was reported Friday morning in the 1100 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

An officer was requested Friday afternoon in the 500 block of North D Avenue in Washington in reference to someone in Florida using the caller’s Social Security number to obtain a credit card. The incident is under investigation.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $40 was reported Saturday evening in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers attempted to contact the driver. The incident was documented.

Golf clubs were reported stolen Sunday afternoon in the 30 block of West Second Street in Riverside. The incident is under investigation.

 

Vandalism

Two garden hoses and a lawn chair were reported cut Sunday evening in the 1000 block of Second Street in Wellman. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 700 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Friday morning after visiting her children she received threatening voicemails from her “ex.” Officers spoke with all parties.

An officer was requested Friday morning in the 700 block of East Washington Street in Washington in reference to harassing text messages. Officers spoke with both parties and advised them to have no contact with each other.

A caller reported Saturday night being harassed and threatened multiple times in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Brighton. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington reported Sunday afternoon a neighbor was accusing him of damaging or stealing belongings. Officers responded.

 

Disorderly conduct

A subject was reported trespassing Sunday evening in the 50 block of North Greene Street in Riverside. Officers responded.

 

Animal complaints

Barking dogs were reported Friday morning in the 90 block of East Fourth Street in Riverside. Officers responded. No one came to the door. Deputy left his card for the dog owner to call.

A dog bite was reported Friday night in the 300 block of West Fifth Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A dog bite was reported Friday night in the 1500 block of Orange Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A bat was reported in a residence in the 600 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington Saturday morning. Officers responded.

Bats were reported in a residence in the 600 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington Sunday morning. Officers responded.

An injured dog that appeared to have been hit by a car was reported in the roadway Sunday evening at South C Avenue and West Van Buren Street in Washington. Officers responded. The dog owner removed the deceased dog from the roadway.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Sunday evening in the 1100 block of East Third Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Curfew/loitering/vagrancy

A subject who had been banned was reported outside of a store in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington Monday morning. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other offenses

A caller in the 600 block of East Main Street in Washington reported Friday afternoon the neighbor sends her 7-year-old son to the caller’s house to play all the time without the caller’s permission. It was an ongoing issue. Officers responded.

A 3-wheel cycle was reported Friday night in the 600 block of West Monroe Street in Washington. It was taken to the bike shed.

 

Family offense non violent

A violation of a no-contact order was reported Friday afternoon in the 100 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington. Officers spoke with all parties.

 

Runaway/missing person

A subject reported Saturday morning his 15-year-old son left the residence in the 1000 block of North Second Avenue in Washington and hadn’t returned. The subject later returned.

 

Suspicious activity

An officer was requested Friday afternoon to check on two suspicious vehicles in the 1600 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.

Two vehicles were reported parked in the 1700 block of East Washington Street in Washington Saturday evening. Officers responded.

A caller in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington reported Monday morning someone knocked on her bedroom window. Officers responded and spoke with all parties.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested on a client in the 800 block of West Monroe Street in Washington who had missed several appointments. Officers responded.

 

Civil dispute

A subject in the 400 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington was reported putting up a fence Sunday evening and he had not had the land surveyed. It was a civil matter.
