Vincent Edward Smallwood, 34, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington for probation violation on public intoxication.
A two-vehicle accident was reported Tuesday afternoon at South Iowa and Polk Street in Washington. Over $1,500 damage was reported. Brianna Salow of Washington was cited for failure to stop at a safe and assured distance.
A two-vehicle accident was reported Tuesday evening in the 500 block of Old Military Road in Ainsworth. Samanta Soto of Ainsworth was cited for no valid driver’s license.
A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Tuesday night in the 1400 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside. Officers responded. The vehicle was towed.
A house was reported on fire Tuesday afternoon in the 2700 block of Havre Lane in Washington. Smoke was reported coming from the roof. Washington Fire Department, Ainsworth Fire Department, Washington County Ambulance and officers responded. The fire was extinguished.
Someone reportedly broke into a home in the 2700 block of Airport Road in Washington and took a jewelry box full of jewelry. Officers responded.
All other thefts
A tire and rim were reported missing from a property in the 300 block of Center Street in West Chester Tuesday morning. The incident was documented.
A bike was reported stolen Tuesday evening in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers were advised. The bike was located. Charges will be filed on Johnathan Dean Graf, 13, of Washington, for possession of stolen property.
A caller reported Tuesday morning that he mows the property in the 300 block of East Fifth Street in Washington and someone had been dumping large tree trunks and sawed logs on the property. Officers spoke with the caller and a suspect.
All other offenses
A caller reported Tuesday morning losing his wallet in the City of Washington. The credit cards were canceled. The wallet was later found.
Two subjects were reported having a heated argument Tuesday afternoon in the 500 block of South C Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.
Possible illegal activity was reported Tuesday evening in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona. The incident was documented.
A 2- or 3-year-old subject was reported sitting in a vehicle in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington honking the horn with the door open. There was no adult supervision. Officers responded. The mother was located.
A fire was reported Tuesday evening on the ground near the stage in Central Park in Washington. Three juveniles reportedly ran from the area. Officers responded. A subject was reportedly lighting aerosol spray on fire when the bottom blew out of the can. The incident is under investigation.
Several subjects were reported sleeping in a vehicle in the 1400 block of East Third Street in Washington. Officers responded. The subjects were advised to move on.
A welfare check was requested Tuesday morning on a subject in the 400 block of E Avenue in Kalona. Officers attempted to contact.
A welfare check was requested Tuesday evening in the 2900 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth on a subject who was camping. Officers located the subject.
