A hit and run accident was reported Monday afternoon at Highway 218 and 170th Street in Riverside. Under $1,500 damage was reported. Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. The incident was documented.
A fire alarm was reported Monday afternoon in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Washington Fire Department and officers responded. The smoke was from burnt popcorn.
A caller in the 2200 block of 250th Street in Washington reported Monday morning someone tried to break into the washroom at the apartment complex. Officers responded. This was a result of tenants being locked out of the washroom to try to prevent them from replacing fuses to restore power shut off by the landlord. The property owner was advised of his options. Nothing was stolen. It was a civil matter.

A skateboard was reported stolen off a front porch Monday afternoon in the 200 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington.
A caller in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported Monday afternoon that a neighbor was taunting and jeering at her. The caller was not able go outside without the neighbor bothering her verbally and with bodily gestures. Officers spoke with all parties and the landlord. The suspect was advised if he has a problem with the neighbor he needed to report the problem instead of harassing her.
A caller in the 400 block of East Tenth Street in Washington reported Monday evening an unknown subject at his former place of employment was harassing him. Officers spoke with the caller. The caller thinks the problem is resolved. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 500 block of West Main Street in Washington requested Monday evening to speak with an officer in reference to illegal dumping. Several subjects in a blue four-door sedan had been throwing garbage in the caller’s yard. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.
Two dogs were reported inside a vehicle at South Fourth Avenue and East Jefferson Street in Washington Monday morning. Officers were unable to locate.
Family offense non violent
An altercation Saturday that turned physical in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona was reported Monday morning. Officers responded and spoke with the caller. The family will try to work this out. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 1700 block of 170th Street in Washington reported Monday afternoon her 12-year-old granddaughter walked away from the residence after getting upset over chores. Officers responded. The juvenile was located and the grandmother picked her up.
