Arrests

Pamela Ruth Pump, 57, of Washington, was arrested Friday night at Highway 218 in Ainsworth for operating while intoxicated.

Orion Eugene Lovegreen, 18, of Wellman, was arrested Sunday morning at Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street in Wellman for driving under suspension.

 

Traffic accidents

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon in the 400 block of E Avenue in Kalona. Abigail Perez Schrock of Kalona was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.

A caller in the 2300 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside reported Friday night hitting a deer. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday night at Highway 218 and 320th Street in Crawfordsville. Officers responded.

A caller reported Saturday morning that her boyfriend’s vehicle was hit by another vehicle in the 700 block of South Third Avenue in Washington. The vehicle then left the scene. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.

A vehicle reportedly struck another vehicle Saturday afternoon in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Information was exchanged.

 

Traffic other

Joseph Magregor Hunt, 26, of Washington, was cited Friday evening at Ivy and 160th in Washington for failure to have a valid motorcycle license no insurance and operating a non-registered vehicle.

Taylor Austin Stout, 17, of Wellman, was cited Sunday afternoon at Sunset Park in Washington for driving under suspension.

A 4-wheel drive truck and motor scooter were reported racing up and down Main Street in Kalona Sunday evening. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Fire calls

A gas spill was reported Friday afternoon in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth. Ainsworth Fire Department responded.

Keokuk County requested mutual aid Saturday afternoon in the 3300 block of 250th Street in Keota for a barn full of hay on fire. Washington Fire Department responded.

Subjects were reported burning something Saturday night in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded.

An Army Humvee vehicle was reported on fire Sunday afternoon at Highways 1 and 92 in Washington and two soldiers were reported vomiting from chemicals emitting through the vents. Officers, Washington Fire Department and Washington County Ambulance responded. The air conditioner malfunctioned. Two patients were transported to the Washington County Hospital and Clinics.

Fire alarms were reported going off Sunday night in the 1500 block of Spruce Avenue in Riverside. Riverside Fire Department responded. Unfounded.

 

Shoplifting

A shoplifter was reported caught on video Monday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other thefts

A stolen bicycle was reported Saturday morning in the 600 block of West Second Street in Washington. Officers were advised.

A gas drive-off in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington was reported Saturday afternoon. Officers spoke with the subject. The non-payment was accidental. The subject returned and paid.

Several golf clubs were reported stolen Saturday afternoon in the 1700 block of Country Club Road in Washington. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A subject reportedly put gas into his vehicle Sunday night in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington then went into the business and advised he couldn’t pay. Officers responded. Arrangements were made for the subject to pay.

 

Vandalism

Vandalism was reported Friday afternoon to a cottage in the 300 block of 13th Street in Wellman. Officers responded.

A caller reported Saturday morning that a residence in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Brighton had KKK written on the garage and a machete hanging in the garage. Officers were advised.

A caller in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning that someone shot the trunk of her vehicle with a BB gun. Officers responded.

 

Disorderly conduct

A fight was reported Sunday morning in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The parties were separated.

 

Trespass

A caller in the 700 block of South C Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning that her landlord entered her home without notice. Officers spoke with the landlord.

 

Intoxicated pedestrian

Caleb Gingerich, 20, of Kalona, was cited Friday evening in the 2000 block of Highway 22 in Kalona for minor in possession of alcohol.

 

Tobacco violations

A possible fight was reported Friday afternoon at Sunset Park in Washington. Officers responded. No fight. Taylor Austin Stout of Wellman was cited for possession of tobacco.

 

Animal complaints

Loose cats were reported Friday morning in the 600 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers spoke with the owner.

Two loose dogs were reported Friday afternoon in the 500 block of South Third Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

Animals were reportedly being left in cages on a flooded property in the 1300 block of Highway 1 in Brighton. Officers responded. Unfounded.

Two loose dogs were reported Saturday afternoon in the 400 block of Lincoln Street in Ainsworth. Officers were unable to locate.

A large amount of dead animals were reported Saturday evening at 150th and Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman. A dumpster was reported overflowing and animals were around on the ground. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Sunday afternoon in the 900 block of Circle Drive in Wellman. Officers were unable to locate.

Loud music was reported coming from a residence in the 900 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman Friday evening. A verbal warning was given.

A caller in the 400 block of North Ella Street in Riverside reported Saturday night a smell was bothering him. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Saturday night in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported coming from a vehicle in the 40 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington Monday morning. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

Subjects reportedly were refusing to move out of rental property Friday afternoon in the 200 block of East Third Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the caller.

A subject was reported in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona refusing to leave. Officers responded.

A couple was reported arguing loudly Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

Someone reportedly gained entry to a property in the 600 block of South B Avenue in Washington Saturday evening. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

Two subjects reportedly stopped by a residence in the 2600 block of Highway 1 in Washington wanting a ride to Brighton. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

Some terminated employees were reported Sunday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded. The subjects were banned.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 400 block of West Main Street in Washington reported Saturday afternoon that her son left the residence the previous day after an argument. The subject was entered into the system.

 

Welfare check

A caller reported Saturday afternoon that his friend in the 3200 block of Birch Avenue in Brighton wasn’t being properly cared for. Officers were advised.

A subject was reported sleeping in a vehicle Saturday evening in the 200 block of east Fifth Street in Washington. Officers responded. Everything was fine.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 2600 block of Nutmeg Avenue in Washington reported Saturday afternoon there was a dispute over family estate. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.
