Arrests

Daniel Joseph Maine, 24, of Washington, was arrested Friday morning in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington for domestic assault.

Brent Lewis Bixby, 26, of Washington, was arrested Friday morning in the 5400 block of 16th Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids on a Washington County warrant for domestic abuse assault.

Jennifer Leanne Link, 30, of LeHarpe, Ill., was arrested Friday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a Johnson County warrant for second degree theft.

Jacob Roy Brooks, 28, of Crawfordsville, was arrested Friday night at Highway 22 and Hemlock Avenue in Wellman for OWI.

Matthew James Riggan, 22, of Ainsworth, was arrested Saturday morning at Highway 92 and First Street in Ainsworth for operating while intoxicated.

Yu Qi Chen, 23, of New York, NY, was arrested Saturday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for aiding and abetting theft. Xiuhong Guan, 50, of Flushing, NY, was arrested at the same time and location for theft.

Bruce Lathol Guy, 58, of Brighton, was arrested Saturday morning at Highway 1 and 315th Street in Washington for disorderly conduct at a funeral service or memorial.

Kenneth Lee Kraklio, 77, of Kalona, was arrested Saturday morning in the 1200 block of Maple Avenue in Kalona for robbery, assault while participating in a felony, driving under suspension and theft.

Evan Wayne Gamon, 49, of Washington, was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 1100 block of East Second Street in Washington for OWI.

Jessica Lynn Meyer, 30, of Riverside, was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for public intoxication.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday night at Highway 22 and Hemlock Avenue in Wellman. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Saturday night in the 1000 block of 120th Street in Wellman. Officers responded. The vehicles were removed. County Roads will be contacted about damage to the ditch. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reported in a ditch at 220th and Redwood in Washington Saturday night. Officers responded. The vehicle was removed.

A vehicle parked in the 600 block of Sixth Street in Kalona was reported involved in a hit and run accident Sunday morning. The suspect vehicle was located. Dylan Campbell of Kalona was cited for no driver’s license. Information was exchanged.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of east Washington Street in Washington. Ray Wilber Musgrove of Washington was cited for turning from the improper lane.

An accident was reported Monday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth. Officers responded. The vehicle was towed.

 

Intoxicated driver

A caller on Parkside Estates Road in Washington reported Sunday evening that a subject was driving and threw out beer cans. The subject was transported to the jail for further testing. The subject was not intoxicated and was given a ride to his residence.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was reported sitting in the middle of an intersection Friday morning at North Harrison Street and West Washington Street in Brighton. Officers responded and moved the vehicle out of the roadway.

A vehicle was reported Monday morning in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside with lights on and damage to the front end. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Fire calls

A vehicle was reported on fire Sunday morning at West Third Street and North D Avenue in Washington. Officers and Washington Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished.

 

Burglary

Someone reportedly broke into a residence in the 1300 block of Tulip Avenue in Riverside Saturday morning. Two televisions were reported missing. Officers responded.

 

All other thefts

A gas drive-off in the amount of $20 was reported Friday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The subject returned and paid.

 

Shoplifting

A caller in the 700 block of Sixth Street in Wellman reported Sunday night three juveniles were in the store earlier and possibly took some items. One subject came back and tried to take a lighter, but was stopped. Officers responded. The mother of the juvenile was advised of the situation.

 

Stolen property

A caller reported Saturday afternoon locating his son’s bike in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers spoke with a suspect, who stated his brother gave him the bike to ride to work. The bike was returned to the owner.

A caller in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington reported Saturday night his 8-year-old son came home from the pool a few days ago with an iPhone and an otter box. Officers spoke with the juvenile about taking the items.

 

Vandalism

Someone reportedly pulled the hose off a gas pump Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of First Street in Kalona and did not notify the business. Officers were unable to locate suspect vehicle. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 500 block of 13th Street in Wellman reported Friday afternoon a subject followed her daughter home from her workplace and yelled at her about her driving. Officers spoke with both parties, who were advised to handle it differently next time.

Possible charges of harassment were reported Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington.

An incident involving the caller’s adopted children and the biological mother showing up at the church and making a scene was reported Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Search warrant

A search warrant was reported executed Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of Second Street in Wellman. Charges are pending.

 

Animal complaints

Several dogs were reported in the roadway Friday morning in the 600 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Officers and the dogcatcher responded. The dogs went west across a bean field.

An aggressive dog was reported on a property in the 1000 block of East Main Street in Washington Saturday afternoon. Officers responded. A family member responded and retrieved the dog.

A dog that didn’t appear well taken care of was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1600 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Two kids were reported hitting the dog using boxing gloves. Officers responded.

Two pitbulls were reported Sunday morning at East Third Street and North Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The dogs were returned to their owner.

A dog bite was reported Sunday afternoon in the 1500 block of Orange Avenue in Kalona. The incident was documented.

A dog bite was reported Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of Village Square in Columbus Junction. Information was forwarded to Louisa County.

Two loose dogs were reported Sunday evening in the 100 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

DP&Q

Subjects were reported being loud Friday night at East Hickory and East Third Street in Riverside. Officers spoke with the subjects.

A subject was reported being loud Saturday morning in the 400 block of North Ella Street in Riverside. Officers responded.

Subjects were reported being loud Saturday morning in the 400 block of Fifth Street in Ainsworth. Officers were unable to locate.

A party with loud music was reported Saturday evening in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington. Officers responded.

Subjects were reported Sunday morning in the 600 block of North D Avenue in Washington yelling at each other. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other offenses

A gas drive-off in the amount of $75.75 was reported Friday morning in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers contacted the owner, who made contact with the store to arrange payment.

A caller in the 900 block of South 10th Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon that someone was calling from a number and hanging up as soon as the caller picked up. On calling back, they don’t say anything. Officers spoke with the other subject. No problems with the phone. Possibly someone using the suspect’s phone number via the Internet.

Clothing and a purse were reported thrown around in a yard in the 100 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth. Officers responded.

An item was reported located Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers took possession and will return it to the owner.

An officer was requested Sunday afternoon in the 2200 block of 250th Street in Washington in reference to an issue regarding the caller’s children at their father’s residence.

Tristen Joseph Fisher, 24, of Wellman, was cited Sunday night in the 1300 block of Elm Avenue in Wellman for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Kaleb Stevens Martin, 18, of Wellman, was cited at the same time and location for possession of alcohol under 21. Trent Lowden Fisher, 16, of Wellman, was cited at the same time and location for consumption of alcohol by a minor.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 2700 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported Friday morning that her husband had left the residence the previous day after making suicidal threats. Officers spoke with the caller. The subject was entered as missing.

A caller in the 600 block of South C Avenue in Washington reported Friday night that he had a no-contact order and the subject had posted something on his Facebook page. Officers responded. The number given for the subject was not good. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning that her daughter came home after curfew and was confrontational. She left on foot. Officers located the subject. A written warning was given.

Two subjects were reported Sunday morning in a possible domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the subjects.

A possible violation of a no-contact order was reported Sunday afternoon in the 600 block of South C Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

A subject was reported sleeping in a vehicle at 290th Street and Larch Avenue in Washington Sunday morning.

 

Runaway/missing person

Officers were requested Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of Second Street in Wellman to check on a missing subject. The subject was located and transported to Johnson County. The subject is also wanted out of Linn County.

A caller in the 1000 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman reported Saturday night her 15-year-old daughter didn’t return home from work. Officers responded. The subject returned home prior to deputies’ arrival.

A caller in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Sunday morning his daughter left the residence earlier and had not returned. The caller later reported the subject was at her aunt’s.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Friday afternoon in the 700 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. The subject was located. No problem.

A young girl was reported Friday evening in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth with her family and she had bruises on her. Officers spoke with the family. She had a medical condition. No abuse.

A welfare check was requested Friday night on a subject in the 600 block of Monroe Street in Ainsworth. Officers were unable to locate.

A welfare check was requested Saturday afternoon on a subject in the 300 block of North C Avenue in Washington. Officers contacted the subject.
