Vernon Minville Thompson, 49, of Brighton, was arrested Monday night in the 3100 block of Highway 1 in Fairfield for operating while intoxicated.
Glenn Allen Dickerson Jr., 30, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington for OWI and driving under suspension. Frankie Melissa Fulford, 37, was arrested at the same time and location for operating without the owner’s consent.
A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Monday afternoon at Highway 1 and English River in Kalona. Officers responded. Over $1,500 damage was reported.
A vehicle accident was reported Monday afternoon in the 100 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.
A vehicle was reported on its top Monday evening at Nutmeg and 200th Street in Washington. The subjects were out of the vehicle. Officers responded. Another vehicle was there assisting getting the vehicle out of the ditch.
A vehicle was reported driving erratically Monday afternoon in the 100 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington. Officers located the vehicle and advised the driver of the complaint.
A subject was reported Monday evening fishing off the bridge on Highway 22 at the Iowa River in Riverside and his lawn chair was in the highway. Officers responded. The subject was advised to move his chair off the travel portion of the highway.
A caller in the 100 block of Fairview Drive in Wellman reported Monday evening that people from the Wellman Golf Course were parking on his property. He reported this Sunday and the issue was resolved prior to deputies’ arrival. This is an ongoing issue. Officers advised the caller of his options.
All other thefts
Money was reported stolen from a jar Monday afternoon in the 300 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.
Four subjects reportedly waved the caller down in his vehicle Monday night in the 800 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington and when the caller went back they beat on his car and broke his taillight. Officers responded. The incident was documented.
Two large white vans reportedly came into Marr Park in the 2900 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth and dumped bags of trash in the dumpsters Monday afternoon. Officers spoke with one of the subjects. He advised 19 people had stopped to have lunch in the park and they were just cleaning up after themselves.
A loose dog that reportedly attacked other animals was reported Monday morning in the 3100 block of Deer Run Drive in Riverside. Officers responded. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 700 block of East Main Street in Washington reported Monday afternoon that a dog bit her the previous night at a friend’s house. Officers responded.
A caller in the 600 block of South Eighth Avenue in Washington reported Monday evening someone let his daughter’s German Shepherd off its chain. Officers responded.
A caller in the 200 block of East Third Street in Washington reported Monday afternoon receiving a call on her cell phone and hearing what sounded like a young child screaming in the background. Officers responded. Unfounded.
Dispatch received an anonymous report of a young child left in a vehicle in the 500 block of South Highway 1 in Washington with a toddler-infant aged child in a car seat. The older child was hitting the car seat and there was no adult around. Officers responded. The parent was advised of the report.
The door to a business in the 100 block of West Main Street in Washington was reported open Monday evening and no one appeared to be inside. Officers responded. The key holder was contacted. No issue.
A dispute was reported Monday afternoon in the 100 block of Ninth Street in Kalona in regards to the sale of a horse. Officers responded. The issue was resolved.
Three young children were reported Monday night in the 300 block of Highways 1 and 92 in Washington. Officers responded. The children were taken to their aunt’s house.
