Arrests

Christopher Vergara, 21, of Washington, was arrested Thursday morning at Highway 218 and 175th Street in Riverside for possession of a controlled substance.

Charles Mathews Carpenter, 18, of Kalona, was arrested Thursday morning in the City of Kalona for third degree sexual abuse.

Derrick Demon Penelton, 19, of Washington, was arrested Thursday morning in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington for probation violation on third degree burglary and use of credit cards.

Kevin Robert Toman, 32, of Washington, was arrested Thursday afternoon at East main Street and North 12th Avenue in Washington for driving while suspended.

Orion Eugene Lovegreen, 18, of Wellman, was arrested Thursday night in the 600 block of Fifth Street in Wellman for driving under suspension and interference with official acts.

James Wallace Price, 53, of Iowa City, was arrested Friday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for public intoxication.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Thursday night at Highway 218 in Ainsworth. The incident was documented.

A caller reported hitting a deer Friday morning in the 100 block of First Street in Kalona. Officers responded.

 

Assault

A caller in the 400 block of North Ella Street in Riverside reported Thursday afternoon his daughter assaulted him. Officers responded.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the City of Brighton reported Thursday evening subjects were threatening her children again. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1400 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Thursday night that her ex-husband was in Florida with her kids and would not stop texting her. Officers spoke with the caller and left a message for the ex-husband.

Three subjects reportedly walked past a residence in the 100 block of South B Avenue in Washington Thursday night twice and verbally harassed another subject. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of North Ella Street in Washington reported Friday morning her father would not stop calling her. Officers spoke with both parties.

 

Animal complaints

A caller reported Thursday morning a dog had chased and attempted to bite him at East Tyler and Paradise Drive in Washington. Officers were advised.

A caller reported Thursday night seeing what she thought was a mountain lion running north from her residence in the 800 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other offenses

A caller in the 300 block of East Third Street in Washington reported Thursday morning that a neighbor cut a tree limb causing a wire to rest alongside her garage. Officers responded.

An abandoned bicycle was reported Thursday afternoon in the 900 block of East Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded. It was taken to the bike shed.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 12 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington reported Thursday evening that he broke up with his girlfriend the previous night and today his dog was missing. The girlfriend advised she had the dog at her mother’s residence. It was a civil matter.
