Arrests

Christopher Robert Ewalt, 23, of Wellman, was arrested Saturday night in the 600 block of Third Street in Wellman for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Traffic accidents

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday evening at Highway 218 and Ramp Ramp in Ainsworth. Officers, Ainsworth QRS, Ainsworth Fire Department, Washington County Ambulance and Washington County Rescue responded. One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Charges are pending lab results.

A semi vs. deer accident was reported Saturday morning at Highway 218 and 192nd Street in Ainsworth. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded. Under $1,500 damage was reported. Information was exchanged. Rebekka Goodwin was cited for failure to stop at a safe and assured distance.

A caller in the 1000 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Sunday morning backing into a neighbor’s vehicle. Officers responded. Insurance information was exchanged.

A motorcycle accident was reported Sunday evening at 150th Street and Redwood Avenue in Riverside. Officers, Riverside QRS, Riverside Fire/Rescue and Washington County Ambulance responded. No transport.

A subject reportedly hit a cow Sunday night in the 3300 block of Coppock Road in Wayland. Officers responded. Damage was over $1,500.

 

Traffic other

A tow was requested Friday morning at Yucca Avenue and Highway 92 in Ainsworth for a vehicle with no plates. The vehicle was towed.

Subjects were reported riding a go-cart on the street in the 900 block of East Main Street in Washington Sunday evening. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Fire calls

A car was reported on fire Friday night in the 1200 block of South Nutmeg Avenue in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department and officers responded. The fire was extinguished. The vehicle was a total loss.

A fire alarm was reported Saturday morning in the 600 block of East Polk Street in Washington. Washington Fire Department and officers responded.

 

Assault

A subject reportedly punched another subject Sunday morning in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington and she was not getting up. Officers responded. All parties were spoken to. No one was injured. The incident is under investigation.

 

Burglary

A caller reported Friday afternoon that while he was in the field that someone entered his home in the 2300 block of 170th Street in Washington and threw things around. Some items were missing and all the cupboard doors were left open. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1500 block of Larch Avenue in Washington reported Friday night waking up and finding a newer model truck at his shop. Officers responded.

 

Stolen property

Insulation rolls were reported missing Sunday afternoon at First Street and West h Avenue in Kalona. Officers spoke with the caller.

 

All other thefts

A cell phone, cash and keys were reported stolen Friday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

A wallet was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 100 block of East Monroe Street in Washington Friday evening. Officers were advised.

 

Vandalism

The back window was reported broken out of a truck in the 700 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded and spoke with all parties.

A vehicle in the 400 block of West Fountain Street in Brighton was reported vandalized Saturday morning. The incident was documented.

Someone reportedly shot a .22-caliber bullet through a window of a residence in the 100 block of Golf View lane in Washington Sunday afternoon.

A truck was reported vandalized Sunday afternoon in the 500 block of North Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported Friday evening subject were harassing him. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

Animal complaints

A dog was reported running loose Friday evening in the 600 block of Lincoln Street in Ainsworth. Officers responded. The dog was secured in a pen.

Loose dogs were reported Saturday evening in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. A verbal warning was given.

A bat was reported in a residence in the 300 block of East Second Street in Washington Sunday morning. Officers were unable to locate.

A bat was reported hanging in the doorway of a kitchen in the 700 block of Fifth Street in Kalona Sunday morning. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Sunday evening in the 100 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. The owner was advised.

 

DP&Q

A loud party was reported Saturday night in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported coming from a trailer on Parkside Estates Road in Washington Saturday night. Officers responded.

Smoke was reported coming from a yard in the 300 block of West Third Street in Washington Monday morning. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

An officer was requested Friday evening in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded and spoke with all parties.

Subjects were reported fishing off a bridge at Dogwood Avenue and 295th Street in Brighton Sunday evening. Officers responded. No issue.

A verbal argument was reported Sunday evening in the 300 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. No argument had occurred.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington reported Friday evening that her daughter was at her residence to pick up her children and she was not to have custody of them. The incident was documented.

An officer reported being out in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington for a civil stand-by and subjects were having a verbal domestic dispute.

A caller in the 2800 block of 192nd Street in Ainsworth reported Sunday evening being harassed. Officers responded.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller reported Friday afternoon that a subject had approached her at West Main and South Marion Avenue in Washington and was saying suspicious things. The subject was located and counseled.

A subject was reported messing with equipment Saturday evening at Highway 92 and Spruce Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. No problem.

Two subjects were reported in a driveway in the 700 block of South C Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Friday afternoon on a subject in the 3300 block of 190th Street in Columbus Junction. Officers spoke with the subject.

Two toddlers were reported in the street Sunday afternoon at South Ninth Avenue and East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded and spoke with the parents.
