Avery Allison McBeth, 19, of Hedrick, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington on a charge of violation of protection order. Joshua Wayne Zeiss, 24, of Washington was arrested at the same time and location on a charge of violation of protection order.
A caller Tuesday morning in the 3000 block of Wayland Road in Washington reported hitting a deer earlier that morning. Damage was done to the front fender. The caller believed the deer ran off. An officer was advised and the accident was documented.
Traffic stop serious
An officer reported being out on a vehicle stop, Monday afternoon at Quince Avenue and 220th Street in Washington. Charges will be filed on a Washington resident for expired registration, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A caller Monday morning in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington reported a silver Grand Cherokee had been parked in the street for five days without being moved. An officer responded and chalked the tires along with placing a 24-hour tow tag on the vehicle.
A caller Monday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth reported they blew a tire. They were completely off the roadway in a silver van. An officer responded and assisted the motorist.
A caller Monday afternoon in the 500 block of South E Avenue in Washington reported a loose husky at her residence, and she couldn’t let her dog outside. Dispatch contacted the dog catcher, who did pick up the dog. An officer advised that a citation was pending. A hold was placed on the dog until the owner picks up or is issued her citation.
A caller Monday evening in the 400 block of West Lincoln Street in Washington reported a house she cleans appeared to have been possibly broken into. The window to the garage was open, the hinge was broken and the screen was broken. An officer responded and advised the window looked as if someone may have attempted to break in, but there was nothing out of place or missing inside the residence.
A deputy on Monday morning received a walk-in report of a possible no-contact order violation in the 100 block of North Taylor Street in Brighton. The reporter said the female subject contacted him and sent him money after filing for a protective order but before it was served. The information was documented. No violation occurred.
A caller Monday afternoon at Highway 92 and the Highway 218 ramp reported a ditch fire with no one around, on the east side of Highway 218 and the south side of Highway 92. Ainsworth Fire Department and a tanker unit responded. The fire was extinguished.
Johnson County reported a grass fire not near any structures, Monday afternoon in the 1100 block of 520th Street S.W. in Wellman. Wellman Fire Department was dispatched, and the fire was extinguished.
A caller Monday afternoon at Elm Avenue and Highway 1 in Brighton reported a controlled burn out of control. The fire had jumped the roadway and was going southbound, with smoke covering the roadway. Brighton Fire requested Richland Fire to respond for mutual aid. Brighton Fire and Richland Fire responded and extinguished the fire.
A caller Monday night in the 1700 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside reported an assault that occurred six to eight months ago. Verbal harassment was still occurring since after the assault occurred. This was reported to the school principal. An officer spoke with parents via PBX. They advised it was taken care of by the school. They did not want to pursue further charges.
An officer reported a search warrant was executed, Monday evening in the 300 block of East Seventh Street in Washington, and a report will be filed.
A caller Monday night in the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington reported he was not able to make contact with his girlfriend since Saturday. An officer made contact, and everything was fine.

A caller Monday morning in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue reported her daughter was mentally and verbally abusing her. An officer spoke with the caller and advised her of some options. The incident was documented.
