Mark Allen Staley, 49, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington for fifth-degree theft.
Elaina Jayne Bray, 21, of Kalona, was arrested Tuesday evening in the 1400 block of Orange Avenue in Kalona for OWI.
Dillon Ray Hervey, 19, of Stockport, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 800 block of South Second Avenue in Washington for probation violation on an original charge of burglary.
A caller in the 1400 block of E Avenue in Kalona reported Tuesday afternoon that over the weekend a customer leaving with a U-Haul struck a vehicle in the parking lot and now wouldn’t return phone calls. Officers spoke with the caller. It was a civil issue and happened on private property.
A vehicle was reported parked in the 1100 block of Oriole Drive in Kalona Tuesday afternoon and it had been there since March 7 and was partially in the driving portion of the roadway. Officers left a message with the owner to move the vehicle or it may be towed.
A large utility pole was reported in the roadway in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington Wednesday morning. Officers responded. The pole was moved out of the roadway.
All other thefts
A purse was reported stolen from a cart in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. A suspect was caught on video. The subject later turned the purse into the police department with all items accounted for.
A caller in the 500 block of South C Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday night her ex-boyfriend was there and was intoxicated. The subject reportedly slammed the couch down. Nothing physical toward the caller. The subject left for the night.
An aggressive dog was reportedly running loose Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. The owner had already caught the dog. A verbal warning was given.
A barking dog was reported Tuesday afternoon at East Madison Street and South Eighth Avenue in Washington.
A stray dog was reported Wednesday morning in the 1100 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. The dog ran off.
All other offenses
The school requested Tuesday morning that officers pick up a truant student in the 1100 block of East Third Street in Washington and bring her to school. Officers were unable to locate.
An officer reported Tuesday night being out in the 200 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington in reference to suspicious activity. Subjects in the apartment were given a verbal warning on noise disturbance.
