Traffic accident

A caller Tuesday morning in the 3000 block of Wayland Road in Washington reported hitting a deer earlier that morning. Damage was done to the front fender. The caller believed the deer ran off. An officer was advised and the information was documented.

A caller Tuesday night in the 1300 block of Deer Run Drive in Riverside reported a neighbor hit his truck with a tractor. An officer responded. This happened on private property. It was a civil issue. Exchange of information will take place.

 

Traffic stop serious

An officer reported stopping a vehicle Tuesday evening at Spruce Avenue and 220th Street in Washington. The male driver showed driving status of revoked. The driver was cited into court for driving while revoked.

 

Assault

A caller Tuesday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported her husband was trying to hit her with the phone and was making threats toward her. Officers responded. The altercation was verbal only, with no injuries. The caller left the residence.

 

Burglary

A caller Tuesday morning in the 100 block of East Main Street in Washington reported several boys robbed the pop machine the previous night and were on camera. An officer spoke with the caller, who planned to speak with the juvenile suspects and handle the incident. The information was documented for the time being.

A caller Tuesday night in the 1100 block of Oriole Drive in Kalona reported his son was in his house that day and took items. The caller wanted him to be aware not to be at the residence. An officer called the son and advised he was not to be at the residence.

 

Disorderly conduct

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue reported a juvenile made threats at lunch. An officer responded and spoke with the school. The officer later made contact with the juvenile and the juvenile’s father. The problem should be resolved.

A caller Tuesday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported an inmate out of control. Several officers responded. An ambulance was requested for the inmate. An ambulance responded. There was no transport. Charges are pending.

 

Fire calls

A caller Tuesday morning in the 2000 block of 140th Street in Wellman reported a house fire that they could see from their residence. It was to the south of their house. Kalona Fire and officers responded. The owner was on the scene. It  was a controlled burn.

A caller Tuesday night in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported smoke inside the apartment from the stove. The stove had been shut off. People were inside the apartment. It was determined that there was no fire, just smoke. The stove was left unattended.

 

Fraud

A caller Tuesday morning in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman reported receiving a check on a closed account. The information was documented.

 

Runaways/missing person

A caller Wednesday morning in the 1500 block of Riverside Road in Riverside reported her daughter dropped her off at work and then didn’t go home afterward. Her location was unknown, and she wouldn’t answer her phone. She was supposed to be coming back to pick the caller up from work at 7 a.m. An officer spoke with the caller and advised her to call back if the daughter didn’t come to pick her up in the morning. The officer intended to attempt to locate the daughter.

 

All other offenses

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported a verbal argument with his father, who left the apartment building by vehicle. The caller also stated he was having a panic attack. Officers responded and advised the father not to return to the apartment. An ambulance responded. There was no transport.
