Arrests

Jenna Elizabeth Miller, 20, of Riverside, was arrested Saturday morning in the 3100 block of 130th Street in Riverside for operating while intoxicated and possession of alcohol under the legal age.

Alvaro Godinez-Perez, 34, of Washington, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for driving under suspension x5.

Ryan Leigh Ransom, 27, of Solon, was arrested Sunday morning in the 600 block of East 12th Street in Washington for OWI. Treva Rai Rich, 26, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested at the same time and location for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Nathan Kyle Taylor, 33, of Wellman, was arrested Sunday morning at Seventh Avenue and Third Street in Wellman for OWI.

Treva Rai Rich, 26, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Sunday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for felony assault on a corrections officer and criminal mischief.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday morning in the 1100 block of Highway 218 in Riverside. Officers responded. The vehicle was drivable.

A parked vehicle was reportedly hit Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington. Officers responded and located the other driver. Information was exchanged.

A caller reported Saturday afternoon a subject wrecked his truck in a ditch in the 3300 block of 190th Street in Columbus Junction. Officers spoke with the subject. The vehicle will be moved. The Iowa State Patrol will file a report.

A vehicle reportedly looked as if it rolled Sunday night in the 1400 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded. A subject was later located at Eighth Avenue and Second Street. The subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Charges are pending.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Sunday night in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Over $1,500 damage was reported.

 

Traffic stop serious

A vehicle stop was reported Saturday night in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia are pending.

 

Traffic other

A driver at Juniper Avenue and Highway 22 in Kalona was reportedly all over the roadway Friday morning. Officers requested documentation. The driver will be sent for re-evaluation.

A tow truck was requested Sunday afternoon in the 3300 block of 190th Street in Columbus Junction for remove a vehicle that had been in the ditch for over 24 hours. A tow truck responded.

 

Fire calls

A shed reportedly caught fire on a property in the 1000 block of Highway 1 in Richland. Brighton Fire, Richland Fire and officers responded. The fire was extinguished. A consent search was executed. The DNR was contacted due to several deer carcasses at the location that looked fresh.

A general fire alarm was reported Friday evening in the 600 block of East Polk Street in Washington.

A woodpile was reported burning close to a building Friday night at East Hickory and East Fourth Street in Riverside. Riverside Fire responded.

An alarm was reported Saturday afternoon in the 600 block of East Polk Street in Washington. The alarm company disregarded the alarm. No fire.

A controlled burn reportedly jumped a creek and was in a cornfield in the 2800 block of 192nd Street in Ainsworth. Ainsworth Fire Department, Riverside Fire Department, Washington Fire Department and Crawfordsville Fire Department responded.

A strong gas smell was reported Sunday night in the 600 block of South Third Avenue in Washington. Washington Fire Department, officers and Washington County Ambulance responded.

 

Assault

A physical altercation was reported Sunday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers responded. The parties were separated. Neither wished to pursue charges.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

A vehicle stop was reported Saturday night at First Street and E Avenue in Kalona. Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia are pending lab results.

The smell of marijuana smoke was reported Sunday night in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers responded.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 200 block of South D Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon being a victim of fraud via Craigslist. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 400 block of Old Military Road in Ainsworth reported Saturday afternoon being the victim of identity theft. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 2800 block of 297th Street in Crawfordsville reported Saturday afternoon that her 17-year-old daughter had an issue with taking items that belong to others. She recently took a gift card and made purchases on it. The caller has the card in her possession. The incident is under investigation.

Two guns were reported missing Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of East Main Street in Washington. One gun was accounted for. The incident is under investigation.

 

Vandalism

The women’s restroom was reported vandalized Saturday morning in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The bathroom will be closed until Monday when the toilet can be replaced. The incident was documented.

Someone reportedly spray-painted the side of a house in the 200 block of South Harrison Street in Brighton Saturday night. The incident was documented.

Someone reportedly spray-painted the tailgate of a pickup in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street in Brighton. A mailbox and two street signs had also been painted. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reported egged Sunday morning in the 600 block of North Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A vehicle was reported vandalized Sunday evening in the 200 block of South Farmer Street in Brighton. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported Sunday afternoon receiving information from a third party that a subject was going to damage her vehicle.

 

Disorderly conduct

An out-of-control 20-year-old subject was reported Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of East Second Street in Washington throwing things and threatening others. Officers responded. The subject calmed down.

A caller in the 1300 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington reported Sunday evening that a client was being aggressive toward others. Officers responded.

 

Liquor law violations

Curtis Cousins, 30, of Washington, was cited Friday night at Third Street and Highway 92 in Ainsworth for open container.

 

Animal complaints

Two deer were reported Friday night in the 2800 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Deer tags were requested.

A dog was reported running loose Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded. A verbal warning was given.

A loose dog was reported Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of East Main Street in Washington. It was an ongoing issue.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Friday night in the 300 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. A verbal warning was given.

A vehicle was reported Sunday evening driving through an alleyway in the 700 block of East Washington Street in Washington using its horn. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other offenses

An altercation was reported Saturday night in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers responded. Verbal only. The parties had separated.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 300 block of East Sycamore Street in Riverside reported Sunday evening having a conflict with his grandson.

A caller in the 400 block of East Main Street in Brighton reported Sunday night being in a dispute with her husband. Officers responded. The subject was gone on arrival.

 

Runaway/missing persons

A caller reported Saturday afternoon that her two sons left a business in the 100 block of East Main Street in Washington and had not made it home. The caller later advised the subjects had not left the business and were there.

 

Welfare check

A caller in the 300 block of West Third Street in Washington reported Friday evening that her sons were still out on their bikes and she was concerned for their safety. The caller later advised the sons were at home.
