Arrests

Marry Magdalene Ladriye, 27, of Washington, was arrested Friday morning in the 100 block of West Main Street in Washington for domestic abuse assault.

Hank William McCann Jr., 19, of Crawfordsville, was arrested Friday evening at 315th and Fern Cliff Road in Washington for driving under suspension. Charges are pending for OWI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance – marijuana and meth.

Travis Cole Brown, 27, of Brighton, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of West Main Street in Brighton for probation violation on original charges of manufacturing meth and possession of pseudo.

Curtis Virgil Null, 48, of Brighton, was arrested Saturday evening at Elm and 315th in Brighton on a Wapello County warrant for theft.

Melinda Katherine Schnicker, 44, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 400 block of West Monroe Street in Washington for OWI and driving under revocation.

 

Traffic accidents

A van reportedly went off the roadway Friday night in the 2200 block of 230th Street in Washington and his partially stuck in a fence. Officers responded. The vehicle was towed.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday morning in the 2200 block of Riverside Road in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A vehicle reportedly went into the west ditch on Highway 218 at 140th Street in Riverside Sunday morning. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reported on its side in the ditch at Angle Road and 520th in Kalona. Kalona QRS responded.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

Suspicious items were located at Hays Timber in Washington Friday afternoon. Dispatch contacted the city department to pick up the trash.

Suspicious items were reported located Saturday afternoon in the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Assault

A fight was reported Saturday morning in the Washington County Jail in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington between two inmates. Charges are pending.

A caller in the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington reported Sunday afternoon a client assaulted her. Officers responded. Charges are pending.

 

Motor vehicle theft

A farm truck was reported stolen Saturday morning in the 3000 block of Old White way in Ainsworth. A family member had borrowed it without the caller’s knowledge.

 

Stolen property

A laptop was reported stolen Saturday morning in the 200 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

 

All other thefts

Charges were filed Friday on Ernest Lee Shaw, 15, of Washington, for fifth-degree theft.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $15 was reported Friday morning in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers contacted the driver.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $10 was reported Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington.

 

Vandalism

Vandalism was reported Friday morning in the 1100 block of E Avenue in Kalona. The incident was documented.

A truck in the 400 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington was reported tampered with Saturday morning. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reported driving on the horizontal poles in the 100 block of South H Avenue in Washington. Officers counseled the driver.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 500 block of North Second Avenue in Washington reported Friday evening a subject would not return her residence key. Officers responded. The key was returned.

A caller in the 700 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning he is going through a divorce and his wife won’t stop calling him. Officers spoke with the subject.

A caller in the 2200 block of 220th Street in Washington reported a subject was harassing him. Officers spoke with both parties.

A caller in the 400 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Saturday afternoon a subject was at her residence harassing to harm her. Officers responded. It was a civil situation.

A caller in the 700 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington reported Saturday afternoon his estranged wife was still harassing him. Officers spoke with both parties. Unfounded.

A caller reported Saturday night two subjects had harassed him at Sunset Park in Washington.

 

Trespass

A deputy was requested Friday morning in the 2500 block of 275th Street in Washington to reports of someone who had been trespassing and harvesting timber. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 700 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon that two subjects trespassed onto his property several times and had forwarded their mail to the residence. Officers spoke with the caller.

A caller in the 800 block of North Eighth Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning that the neighbors had their recycling bin, chairs and other trash on her property. Officers responded. It was a civil matter.

A subject was reported in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington Sunday night and he had been banned. Officers responded.

 

Disorderly conduct

A subject was reported Friday afternoon in the 20 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington who was intoxicated and screaming. Officers responded.

 

Liquor law violations

Officers reported being in the 70 block of West First Street in Riverside Saturday morning to speak with the manager on duty. A verbal warning was given for alcohol consumed after 2 a.m. The incident was documented.

Isaac Emilio Chavez, 16, of Riverside, and Megan Dawn Bontrager, 16, of Kalona, were cited Sunday morning in the 500 block of 13th Street in Wellman for possession of alcohol under the legal age. Jacob Patrick Peiffer, 15, of Kalona, was cited for operating outside of an instruction permit, careless driving and possession of alcohol under the legal age.

 

Animal complaints

A horse in the 1200 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reportedly had no hay Saturday morning. Officers spoke with the owner, who feeds the horse daily.

 

DP&Q

A lot of activity was reported in the 500 block of South B Avenue in Washington Saturday night. Officers responded. About 15 subjects reportedly left the residence out the back door and no one would answer the residence door. The homeowner was notified.

 

All other offenses

A caller in the 800 block of North Eighth Avenue in Washington reported Friday morning that new neighbors had moved in and there were issues with noise and dogs running loose. The caller also reported the son revs the engine on his dirt bike. Officers spoke with the caller.

A caller in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Sunday evening her son was brought home with scratches on his face. A dog had scratched the child.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 700 block of 12th Avenue in Wellman reported Sunday evening having trouble with their 14-year-old foster child. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

A suspicious subject was reported Friday afternoon in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded. The subject was waiting for a ride.

A caller in the 100 block of West Third Street in Riverside reported Friday night that someone appeared to be in a building that was supposed to be vacant. Officers responded. No problem.

 

Civil dispute

A deputy was requested Friday morning in the 300 block of C Avenue in Kalona in reference to the caller’s ex-husband refusing to give her the key to her vehicle. Officers spoke with the subject.
