Moises Garcia, 26, of Jupiter, Fla., was arrested Thursday morning in the 2000 block of 155th Street in Washington on a Palm Beach County, Fla., warrant for lewd or lascivious battery. The same subject was also wanted under the alias Javiar Castillo by Colquitt County, Ga., for statutory rape and by the Moultrie Police Department in Georgia for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Tad Everett Zwer, 21, of Brighton, was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 1000 block of East Washington Street in Washington on a Linn County warrant for revocation of probation on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance – marijuana.
Larry Richard Simon, 47, of Riverside, was arrested Friday morning in the 60 block of North Greene Street in Riverside for OWI and possession or carrying of a firearm while under the influence.
A vehicle was reported sitting in the intersection of 170th and Fir Avenue in Wellman Thursday morning. Semis were trying to get through. No one was around the vehicle. Officers responded. The owner of the vehicle advised it wouldn’t start. The vehicle was jump started and moved.
Brighton Fire Department was requested Thursday morning in the 3200 block of 146th Boulevard in Brighton for an out-of-control grass fire. Brighton Fire and Brighton QRS responded. Brighton Fire requested manpower and water. Wayland Fire Department responded.
A fight was reported Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Charges were filed on Andrew Payne, 14, of Washington, for simple assault.
All other thefts
A purse was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1300 block of Woodland Court in Washington Thursday afternoon. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.
Glasses and a glass case were reported stolen Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. The case was found in a student’s locker and the glasses were anonymously turned onto the office. The incident is under investigation.
A subject was reportedly letting his pitbull run loose Thursday afternoon in the 800 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the owner.
A subject was reportedly bitten on the face by a dog in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The subject who was bitten had two dogs out at the same time and they had gotten into a fight. The incident happened when the subject tried to separate the dogs. The dog was sent to the vet.
A dog bite was reported Thursday night in the 1400 block of 180th Street in Wellman. Officers were advised.
Family offense non violent
A caller in the 1100 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Thursday morning that he moved out of his residence Sunday and when he showed up there his 3-year-old daughter was home alone. Officers responded. The child was removed from the residence and turned over to the Department of Human Services.
An officer was requested in the 1100 block of East Second Street in Washington Friday morning in reference to the caller’s 3-year-old daughter being taken from her Thursday. Officers responded. The caller was advised to contact an attorney.
Suspicious items were reported located in the basement of a residence in the 900 block of South B Avenue in Washington Thursday morning. Officers were advised and will contact the realty company.
A suspicious subject reportedly stopped by a residence in the 2100 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington and asked suspicious questions. The caller also said that he had found suspicious items in his driveway. Officers were advised.
A caller in the 800 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Thursday morning that he had not seen his neighbor in over a year. The subject had two children. The caller requested a welfare check. Officers responded. The subject was fine.
A welfare check was requested on a subject in the 1300 block of East Third Street in Washington. Officers responded.
A caller presorted Thursday evening that she was in a residence in the 2200 block of 220th Street in Washington trying to retrieve some of her belongings and a subject at the residence was refusing to return them. Officers responded. The caller was advised to go through an attorney to get her belongings back.
