Arrests

Joshua Mark Schreiner, 35, of Kalona, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 1100 block of Enterprise Drive in Riverside for driving under revocation and charges are pending lab results for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Robert Dean Juhl II, 32, of Riverside, was arrested Tuesday evening in the 1300 block of Tulip Avenue in Riverside on a Johnson County warrant for failure to appear for pretrial on a charge of operating under the influence.

 

Traffic accidents

A hit and run accident was reported Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

 

Disabled vehicles

A vehicle was reported Tuesday afternoon in the 300 block of West Third Street in Washington and it had been there four days. Officers chalked the tires.

 

Burglary

Someone reportedly attempted to gain entry to a building in the 100 block of East Third Street in Washington Tuesday morning. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 700 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday afternoon a subject was refusing to return his belt buckle. Officers spoke with the caller and left a message for the subject.

A wallet was reported stolen from a van in the 2200 block of Juniper Avenue in West Chester Tuesday afternoon. Officers believe it was someone the caller knew.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday morning receiving a threatening message on her phone. Officers responded. The caller was advised to contact a private attorney and obtain a no-contact order.

A subject reportedly made threatening statements to the caller Tuesday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded. The subject had left prior to officers’ arrival. The subject was located and counseled.

A caller reported Monday afternoon that she received information that her cousin’s boyfriend had possibly assaulted her cousin in Sunset Park. Officers located the male subject and two witnesses who claimed the female was the aggressor. No one wished to pursue charges. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 100 block of Shiloh Drive in Kalona reported Tuesday afternoon receiving emails and calls from a subject and the messages had started becoming threatening. Officers made contact with the sheriff’s department in North Carolina and they will advise the subject to stop calling.

 

Intoxicated pedestrian

Dennis wade Thornburg, 51, of Washington, was cited into court Tuesday for possession of a controlled substance.

 

Animal complaints

A bat was reported in a house in the 800 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded and removed the bat.

A barking dog was reported Monday night in the 100 block of Fifth Street in Wellman. A written warning was given to the owner.

 

DP&Q

A caller in the 600 block of Sixth Street in Wellman reported Monday night that her neighbors were being very loud. She tried approaching them about the issue earlier, but they wouldn’t cooperate. Officers responded and were unable to locate any disturbances.

A loud motorcycle was reported Tuesday evening in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Brighton. Officers were unable to locate.

A group of subjects was reported yelling loudly Wednesday morning in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A dispute was reported Tuesday morning in the 500 block of Fifth Street in Kalona. Officers responded. Both subjects had left prior to officers’ arrival.

An officer was requested Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington for a student who was in the time out room and had torn it up. The student was counseled.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 1300 block of East Second Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday afternoon that her son pushed her and would not listen. Officers responded.

A caller in the 200 block of East 14th Street in Washington reported Tuesday evening that her guardian had hit her. Officers spoke with both subjects. No assault had occurred.

 

Suspicious activity

The lock of a back porch screen door in the 700 block of South B Avenue in Washington had reportedly been messed with Monday evening. Officers responded.

A subject was reported lying on the side of the 500 block of East Second Street in Washington Tuesday night. Officers responded. No problem.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Monday evening on a subject in the 100 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. No issue.

A welfare check was requested Tuesday evening on a subject in the 3200 block of Birch Avenue in Brighton. Officers responded.

 

Public service contact

A fire alarm was reported going off Tuesday morning in the 20 block of Locust Lane in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Civil dispute

An officer was requested Tuesday morning in the 1600 bloc of South Airport Road in Washington in reference to items belonging to the caller’s husband that were at the airport. Officers attempted to contact the caller.
