Arrests

Eno-Abasi Augustine-Akpan, 21, of Des Moines, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for prostitution.

Jerry Darnell Walker, 18, of Washington, was arrested Wednesday night in the 1500 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington for probation violation on possession of a controlled substance.

Chelsea Nichole Lorack, 29, of Riverside, was arrested Wednesday night in the 400 block of North Ella Street in Riverside for refusing to pay fine.

Phillip Anthony Bolanos, 41, of Wellman, was arrested Wednesday night in the 200 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman for domestic abuse assault.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Wednesday morning in the 2600 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. The incident was documented.

 

Intoxicated driver

An officer reported Wednesday morning being en route to the Washington County Jail with an intoxicated driver. The subject was released without arrest, but the vehicle was placed out of service.

 

Traffic other

A stop arm violation was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 2000 block of Highway 22 in Kalona. Officers responded. Ethan Dean Danner of Kalona was cited for unlawfully passing a stopped school bus.

 

Fire calls

A fire alarm was reported Wednesday morning at the middle school in the 700 block of F Avenue in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department responded and reset the alarm. No problems.

 

Sexual child abuse

A caller in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington requested Wednesday afternoon that an officer accompany her to a residence in Washington County regarding a DHS report of possible sexual child abuse. Officers responded. The incident was documented. DHS will handle any investigation at this time.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon that someone had obtained their credit card information and made small purchases online. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 400 block of South Harrison Street in Brighton requested to speak with a deputy Wednesday morning in reference to an incident involving her daughter and threats posted on Facebook. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented. The caller’s daughter isn’t named on the other party’s page.

 

Curfew/loitering/vagrancy

Three juveniles reportedly left school in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington Wednesday afternoon without permission. Officers located the subjects as well as a fourth juvenile in the 20 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington. Juveniles were released to their parents. The school will handle anything further.

 

All other offenses

A caller requested Wednesday afternoon to speak with an officer in reference to an incident that occurred in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

Family offense non violent

A violation of a no-contact order was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 2800 block of Vine Avenue in Crawfordsville.

 

Mental subject

A caller in the 700 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Wednesday morning that her mother was possibly under the influence of has medication that isn’t right and refused to go to the doctor. Officers responded. The subject agreed to go and get checked out.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 100 block of Sixth Street in Kalona reported Wednesday evening that her 14-year-old son was refusing to go home. Officers responded.

 

Public service contact

A caller requested Wednesday afternoon that someone check a house in the 2500 block of Palm Avenue in Washington. The caller believed she may have left a burner on her gas stove and wasn’t due back home until the afternoon. Officers responded. The burner was on. Problem was resolved.
