Jason Michael Smith, 39, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Monday evening in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for public intoxication.
Alexander Warren DeHogues, 23, of Kalona, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 2700 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for operating while intoxicated.
A truck was reportedly sideswiped Monday morning in the 1100 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.
A two-vehicle accident was reported Monday afternoon at East Seventh Street and North Eighth Avenue in Washington. Over $1,500 damage was reported. Larry Joe Herring of Washington was cited for failure to yield upon left turn.
A subject reportedly hit a guardrail twice Monday afternoon on Highway 218 in Ainsworth. Officers responded. Over $1,500 damage was reported. The vehicle was towed.
A garage fire was reported Monday evening in the 200 block of East Third Street in Washington. Washington Fire Department and officers responded.
A carbon monoxide detector was reported going off Monday evening in the 1100 block of E Place in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department responded and checked the residence.
Physical child abuse
A possible case of child abuse was reported Monday afternoon in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington. The incident is under investigation.
Items were reported missing from a storage shed Monday afternoon in the 1700 block of 315th Street in Washington. Officers attempted to contact the owner.
All other thefts
A computer was reported stolen from a vehicle Monday morning in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington. The computer was later located. No theft occurred.
A caller in the 3000 block of Rhinestone Drive in Riverside reported Monday evening that her neighbor was on her property and was digging. Officers responded. The neighbor was given a written warning for trespass and will be issued a citation if he is on the property again without the owner’s consent.
Loud music was reported Tuesday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded. A subject was given a written warning.
All other offenses
A student in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported Monday afternoon receiving inappropriate picture and text messages from an unknown subject. The messages were sent via K.I.K. Services. Case was turned over to Internet Crimes Against Children. The incident was documented.
