Arrests

Humberto Aguilar-Velasquez, 32, of Washington, was arrested Friday night in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington for operating while intoxicated and no driver’s license.

Jordan Andrew Wallace, 18, of Washington, was arrested Saturday morning at Highway 1 and Kiwi Avenue in Washington for operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol under the legal age. Cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age at the same time and location were: Garrett Lloyd Covington, 18, of Washington; Tristan Thomas Noah Pohren, 18, of Washington; and Kyle Joseph Eakins, 18, of Keota.

Diego Regaldo Andrade, 21, of Washington, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 2200 block of 250th Street in Washington for failure to appear for mittimus on a charge of driving under suspension.

Nathan David Thomann, 19, of Riverside, was arrested Sunday morning at 140th Street and Highway 1 in Kalona for OWI.

Jordan William Vradenburg, 21, of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested Sunday morning at South Marion and West Madison in Washington for OWI.

Kadeem Savoy Allen Ward, 21, of Keokuk, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for probation violation on a charge of third-degree burglary.

Samuel Wesley Harrill, 40, of Washington, was arrested Monday night in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington for domestic abuse.

Mary Megan Jenkins, 37, of Ottumwa, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 500 block of West Madison Street in Washington for public intoxication.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle was reported struck Friday morning while parked in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington. No suspects. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon at East madison and South Third Avenue in Washington. Joseph Fritz of Washington was cited for failure to stop at an assured distance.

Philip Nisly of Kalona was cited Saturday afternoon at East First Street and East Second Street in Riverside for violation of permit and no lights to rear of trailer.

A traffic accident was reported Sunday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

A vehicle was reported leaking fluid Sunday afternoon at Highway 218 and 220th Street in Ainsworth after hitting a deer. Iowa State Patrol responded.

A rollover accident was reported Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of 105th Street in Wellman. Washington County Ambulance, Wellman Fire, Wellman QRS, Washington County Rescue and officers responded. One patient was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A semi accident was reported Tuesday morning at Highway 218 and 140th Street in Riverside. Riverside Fire Department, Riverside First Responders, officers and Washington County Ambulance responded. A semi had struck a cow.

 

Traffic other

A truck was reported driving up and down East Third Street in Washington at a high rate of speed Friday afternoon. Officers were unable to locate.

A vehicle stop was reported Saturday morning at Highway 22 and Vine Avenue in Riverside. The driver was not intoxicated.

A vehicle was reported all over the roadway Saturday night in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded. The driver was not intoxicated. The incident was documented.

A vehicle that appeared to have been in an accident was reported in the 2700 block of 230th Street in Washington Sunday afternoon. Officers attempted to contact the owner.

Yahdidah Jimenez, 21, of Columbus Junction, was cited Monday morning at Highway 218 and 192nd Street in Ainsworth for driving under suspension.

 

Fire calls

A fire alarm was reported Friday afternoon in the 400 block of B Avenue in Kalona. Kalona Fire and officers responded. Steam set off the alarm.

A ditch fire was reported Friday evening at Palm Avenue and 240th Street in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded.

A fire was reported Saturday morning in the 200 block of West Fifth Street in Washington. Officers responded. No problem.

A shed fire was reported Saturday afternoon in the 3100 block of 150th Street in Riverside. Riverside Fire Department, Ainsworth Fire Department, and officers responded.

A cross was reported on fire Sunday morning at highway 22 and hickory Avenue in Wellman. Wellman Fire Department and officers responded. No fire. Officers took pictures. The incident was documented.

An unknown fire was reported burning Monday afternoon in the 500 block of South D Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The subjects were burning leaves and wood.

 

Assault

Charges were filed Friday afternoon in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington on Dylan Rickert, 10, of Washington, for simple assault.

A caller reported Monday evening that his ex-girlfriend had assaulted two juvenile females in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

A domestic situation was reported Monday night in the 3200 block of Vine Avenue in Crawfordsville. Officers responded.

 

Burglary

A house in the 3300 block of 190th Street in Columbus Junction was reported burglarized Monday afternoon. The incident is under investigation.

 

Stolen property

An officer reported Friday morning being out with a stolen vehicle in the 800 block of Third Street in Kalona. The incident is under investigation.

A stolen bicycle was reported Saturday evening in the 300 block of West Third Street in Washington. Officers responded. It was returned to the owner.

 

All other thefts

A subject reportedly left a store in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside without paying for cigarettes. The incident was documented.

A tool chest and tools were reported taken Friday afternoon in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. A report will be filed.

A subject reportedly stole a phone Saturday evening in the 100 block of West Main Street in Washington and left. A report will be filed.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller reported Saturday afternoon that subjects were harassing her husband and baby in the 1000 block of East Third Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A caller in the 300 block of Center Street in West Chester reported Sunday morning he felt as if he was being harassed for no reason. The caller wasn’t able to do things around his property without someone complaining. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Disorderly conduct

A couple was reported fighting Friday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Officers responded. The parties were separated for the night.

A large group of subjects was reported yelling and arguing Saturday evening at West Jefferson and South D Avenue in Washington. The subjects were asked to move along.

A fight was reported in the 100 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the subjects. Nothing physical. The parties were separated.

Several people were reported in the 900 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington Monday night yelling obscenities. Officers responded.

A subject was reported threatening people Tuesday morning in the 900 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Trespass

A caller in the 100 block of West Third Street in Washington reported Friday evening two subjects were on his property and would not leave. Officers responded.

Subjects were reported grilling on the caller’s property Monday evening at East Adams Street and South 12th Avenue in Washington. Offices responded.

 

Weapon violation

A subject was reported Monday afternoon in the 100 block of West Main Street in Washington with a gun tucked in his beltline. Officers responded. The subject had a valid permit to carry concealed.

 

Liquor law violation

Officers reportedly spoke with a subject in the 100 block of West Main Street in Washington Monday afternoon and made him aware of laws against consuming alcohol in a public park.

 

Tobacco violations

Cited Friday afternoon in the 100 block of West Main Street in Washington for possession of tobacco under the legal age were: Kati Lee Faupel, 17, of Washington; and Joshua David Bennett, 16, of Washington.

 

Animal complaints

Horses were reported out Monday morning in the 2200 block of 250th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A bat was reported in an apartment in the 300 block of East Second Street in Washington Monday morning. Officers responded.

A large dog that appeared to be hit by a car was reported Monday afternoon in the 1900 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded and removed a raccoon.

 

Barking dog

Two barking dogs were reported Sunday morning in the 100 block of East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers responded and did not hear anything.

A barking dog was reported Sunday evening in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Saturday morning in the 200 block of East Third Street in Riverside. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Saturday evening in the 1300 block of North Third Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A large party was reported Saturday night in the 1300 block of North Third Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported coming from a party in the 1200 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded.

Fireworks were reported being set off Saturday night in the 1000 block of East Third Street in Washington.

A subject was reported running a chainsaw Sunday morning in the 300 block of Center Street in West Chester. Officers responded.

Firecrackers were reported going off Sunday morning in the 1000 block of East Third Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

Loud music was reported coming from the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington Sunday night. Officers responded.

Fireworks were reported Sunday night in the 1000 block of Circle Drive in Wellman. Subjects were given a verbal warning.

A loud party was reported Monday morning in the 1000 block of North Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A loud noise was reported Monday morning in the 400 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A possible fight was reported Monday night in the 2900 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

An item was reported located Friday morning in the 1100 block of East Adams Street in Washington. The item was entered as recovered.

An underage party was reported Sunday morning in the 600 block of West Fifth Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate anything.

A caller in the 600 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington reported Sunday morning that a bike had been left in her yard. Officers responded and took the bike to the bike shed.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $50 was reported Monday afternoon in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A subject reportedly threw a brick at the caller’s dog Monday afternoon in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 800 block of South D Avenue in Washington reported Sunday morning having a verbal argument with her daughter. Officers responded.

An officer was requested Monday evening in the 300 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington for a possible family offense.

 

Suspicious activity

Suspicious activity with several juveniles was reported Saturday morning at Highway 22 and Kiwi Avenue in Kalona. Officers were unable to locate.

Two subjects were reported lying in the roadway in the 2700 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

Subjects were reported at J Place and 14th Street in Kalona burning Saturday night and smoke was coming into the caller’s residence. Officers were unable to locate.

A caller in the 1100 block of Larch Avenue in Kalona reported Saturday night coming home to find another noose hanging on a limb above his car.

A suspicious vehicle was reported Monday afternoon in the 200 block of East Third Street in Riverside. Officers responded.

Three subjects were reported at East Railroad Street and South Liberty Street in Brighton Tuesday morning going through property. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Civil dispute

A civil dispute over a vehicle was reported Sunday morning in the 200 block of East Second Street in Washington. Officers responded. The caller was allowed to retrieve her vehicle.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Friday afternoon on a subject in the 1400 block of Willow Brooke Lane in Riverside. Officers responded.

A subject reportedly got one child out of a car in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington Sunday afternoon but still had two children sleeping inside. Officers spoke with the owner. No problem.

 

Runaway/missing persons

A caller in the 1000 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman reported Friday evening that her 15-year-old daughter ran away after stealing money. Officers responded. The subject was located and returned home.
