Arrests

Kevin Dale Sexton, 45, of Keota, was arrested Friday morning in the 1300 block of Highway 1 in Kalona for driving under suspension.

Zachary Ryan Bonebrake, 27, of Washington, was arrested Friday morning in the 3200 block of 175th Street in Ainsworth for probation violation on third-degree burglary.

Kevin Robert Toman, 32, of Washington, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 800 block of South Third Avenue in Washington for driving under suspension.

Desiree Nichole Fleetwood, 32, of Marion, was arrested Saturday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside on a Linn County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Alexander Evan Ross, 24, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 400 block of West Tyler Street in Washington for simple domestic assault.

David Wayne Williams, 49, of Tecumseh, Okla., was arrested Sunday evening in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington for operating while intoxicated.

Dustin Dion Dittrich, 20, of Washington, was arrested Monday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington for operating while intoxicated and possession of alcohol under the legal age. Travis Lee Carruthers Jr., 19, of Washington was cited at the same time and location for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

Jeremy Wayne Kaska, 33, of Brighton, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 3300 block of Germanville Road in Brighton for failure to appear for hearing on contempt – illegal resistance to order or process bond.

William Lyle Morgan, 24, of Washington, was arrested Monday evening in the 800 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington for public intoxication.

Larry Doneall Gaines, 55, of Waterloo, was arrested Tuesday morning on Highway 218 in Ainsworth for driving while barred x5.

 

Traffic accidents

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday morning in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Information was exchanged.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon in the 1900 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. Sara Heng-Abozena of Washington was cited for failure to yield upon entering a thru highway.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday night in the 1000 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside. The incident was documented.

An accident was reported Saturday morning in the 400 block of Highways 1 and 92 in Washington. Anthony Tolander of Kalona was cited for failure to maintain control.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday evening in the 2600 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth. Officers responded.

A rollover accident was reported Sunday morning in the 2900 block of 245th Street in Ainsworth. The vehicle was towed. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Sunday afternoon at Highway 22 and First Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded. Sarah Wheeler of Riverside was cited for failure to yield upon left hand turn.

A caller reported Monday morning that her vehicle had damage from being struck by another vehicle in Washington County.

A vehicle vs. dog accident was reported Monday morning in the 1400 block of Highway 1 in Washington. The vehicle was towed.

A caller reported Monday morning that a friend had hit a telephone pole in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Monday afternoon in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. The incident was documented.

A car reportedly hit a pole Monday evening in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Tuesday morning in the 2700 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth. The incident was documented.

 

Intoxicated driver

Innocent Nkubito, 20, of Edmond, Okla., was cited Monday evening on Highway 218 in Ainsworth for .02 violation and possession of alcohol under age.

 

Traffic other

Keith Duckett of Brighton was cited Friday afternoon at Highway 1 and West Fifth Street in Washington for driving under suspension. Tanja Joann Lloyd of Washington was cited at the same time and location for violation of instructors permit. Darby Dawson of Washington was also cited for allowing unauthorized person to drive.

Kimberly Ellen Brockman, 45, of Iowa City, was cited for driving under suspension.

Two juveniles were reported riding in the 200 block of North Washington Street in Riverside on a lawn mower Saturday evening. Officers responded and counseled the subjects.

A truck was reported sitting in the 600 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington Saturday evening and it had been there for 48 hours. Officers responded.

Officers were requested to check the road conditions Saturday evening in the 2100 block of 140th Street in Kalona. Officers responded.

A muddy truck was reported parked in the 400 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington Monday morning. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

 

Fire calls

An oven fire was reported Friday evening in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished.

A vehicle was reported on fire Saturday evening in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

A hog confinement was reported on fire Sunday morning in the 2200 block of 180th Street in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded and was disregarded. A large cloud of steam exited. No fire.

Steam was reported coming from a building in the 200 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington Sunday afternoon. Officers and the owner responded.

 

Assault

An assault between inmates at the jail in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington occurred Saturday night.

A female subject reportedly entered the business in the 100 block of Greene Street in Riverside Sunday morning and said she had been assaulted. Officers responded. The subject had been told to leave the residence by a male subject and his daughter repeatedly. The male subject had more injuries than the female subject. The female subject was advised not to return to the residence.

Dispatch received a call Sunday morning in the 100 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington in reference to a subject starting a fight and one of the subjects had a knife. Officers responded. The parties were separated.

A caller in the 400 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Monday evening that her 34-year-old son attempted to choke her. Officers responded.

 

Drug/narcotics violations

An officer was requested Friday afternoon in the 600 block of East Second Street in Washington to assist in making a home visit. The incident was documented.

Suspicious items were reported located Saturday afternoon in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 600 block of East Polk Street in Washington reported Friday morning that someone entered his vehicle and took a pack of cigarettes. The incident was documented.

A GPS device was reported stolen from a vehicle Friday morning in the 1000 block of East Taylor Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $20 was reported Friday afternoon in the 300 block of First Street in Kalona. The incident was documented.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $10 was reported Saturday evening in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Vandalism

A pop machine was reportedly tipped over Friday night in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The caller and a friend put it back upright. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 300 block of North B Avenue in Washington reported Friday morning she received information someone was being paid to assault her son at school. Officers spoke with the caller. The school was notified of the situation.

A caller in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported Friday afternoon her father was harassing her on Facebook. Officers spoke with the caller.

A caller reported Friday evening being threatened by the father of her child in Central Park in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Friday evening his father was harassed in the 700 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A vehicle reportedly was following the caller’s 11-year-old son in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington Saturday evening and the subjects inside called him several names and threatened to beat him up. Officers were unable to locate.

A caller in the 400 block of East Main Street in Brighton reported Saturday night receiving threats from four subjects that they will burn his house down. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

Two subjects reportedly kept driving past the caller’s residence in the 400 block of East Second Street in Washington and harassing another subject. Officers located the van unoccupied. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Sunday afternoon receiving threatening and harassing texts. Charges will be filed on Alexander Ross, 24, of Washington for two counts of harassment.

A caller reported Sunday evening being threatened by his daughter’s mother’s sister in the 600 block of East 10th Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Disorderly conduct

Three subjects reportedly smashed watermelons Monday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded. The subjects were located and banned from the store. Charges of fifth degree criminal mischief are pending.

A caller in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Monday afternoon her 16-year-old daughter was out-of-control. Officers responded.

 

Trespass

Children were reportedly playing on the handicapped ramp Friday evening in the 1000 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A deputy was requested Saturday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for a subject who had signed a self-exclusion. Information was forwarded to DCI.

Two former employees of a business in the 600 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman were reportedly sent a letter not to return to the business and had ordered take-out food and picked it up. Officers spoke with the subjects.

 

Animal complaints

A dog was reported locked in an SUV Friday afternoon in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington. The water meter reader let the dog out and it was attached to a chain in the yard. Officers responded.

Two dogs were reported loose Friday evening in the 800 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A loose dog was reported Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of Franklin Street in West Chester. Officers were unable to locate.

A loose dog was reported Sunday morning in the 500 block of South Third Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Monday afternoon a dog attacked his wife and their beagle in the 500 block of West Third Street in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Friday afternoon in the 300 block of North D Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Monday morning in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A subject was reported intoxicated and out of control Friday evening in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Officers responded.

A vehicle was reported parked in a yard in the 2000 block of 290th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 1500 block of Highland Court in Washington reported Monday afternoon her father tried to choke her. Officers responded. No assault occurred.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller in the 500 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon a vehicle stopped in the street and a subject got out and walked toward a residence. The caller heard screaming prior to officers’ arrival. The subject got back into the vehicle and left. Officers were unable to locate.

A vehicle was reportedly following the caller and her friends Friday evening at East 14th Street and North Eighth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

Gunshots were reported Saturday evening in the 1200 block of Nutmeg in Kalona. Officers responded. A witness saw men in a vehicle fire into the timer. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

A large piece of machinery and a vehicle were reported in the quarry in the 3100 block of Coppock Road in Wayland Sunday night. Officers responded.

Two vehicles were reported Sunday night at Larch Avenue and 290th in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Civil dispute

A caller reported Saturday afternoon having a hunting stand on her father’s property that was pushed over. It was a civil issue. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Saturday night that his son was graduating and his ex-wife only gave him one of the 10 allotted tickets. It was a civil matter.

A caller in the City of Crawfordsville asked to speak with an officer Monday morning in reference to a child custody dispute. Officers advised the caller to contact DHS.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Sunday night in the 300 block of South Main Street in Crawfordsville. Officers responded. Everything was fine.

 

Public service contact

Dispatch reported Saturday morning that Jefferson County was looking for a vehicle that may have been involved in a hit and run incident and the driver may be intoxicated. Officers located the driver. Keokuk County and Jefferson County deputies responded.
