Traffic accidents

A truck reportedly slid into the median at Highway 218 and Old White Way in Ainsworth Monday morning. Officers responded. The vehicle was towed. The incident was documented.

A semi reportedly jackknifed Monday morning at Highways 92 and 218 in Ainsworth. Officers responded. Charles W. Northcutt of Versailles, Ill., was cited for unsafe turn.

An accident was reported Monday afternoon in the 2500 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Officers responded. Roger Arnold of Brighton was cited for failure to yield upon entering a highway.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Monday afternoon in the 2000 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Monday afternoon at North Iowa and Fifth Street in Washington. Officers, Washington County Ambulance, Washington Fire and Washington County Rescue responded. Stacy Marie Westphal-Edwards was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Two subjects were transported to the Washington County Hospital.

 

Fire calls

A fire alarm was reported Monday morning in the 1100 block of South E Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. No fire was found.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Brighton reported Monday afternoon that someone took the mouthpiece for her sleep apnea machine from her truck. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller on West First Street in Riverside reported Monday morning there had been a parking dispute between two businesses and there were inappropriate signs posted on Highway 22. Officers responded. The signs were taken down on arrival. Officers spoke with both businesses.

A caller in the 800 block of Sixth Avenue in Washington reported Monday afternoon speaking on the phone with her daughter in Maui, Hawaii, who made threatening statements regarding her son and fiancé who are also in Maui. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona reported Monday night that a subject was harassing them by constantly calling and knocking on their door. It has escalated to threatening phone calls. Officers responded.

A caller in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona reported Tuesday morning receiving harassing text messages. Officers responded and spoke with the subject. The subject agreed to stop texting.

 

Trespass

A caller in the 1500 block of 315th Street in Brighton reported Monday afternoon having farm ground north east of Lake Darling Youth Center and some subjects had been trespassing. The incident was documented.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Tuesday morning in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The subject was advised to turn the music down.

 

Suspicious activity

Several suspicious items were reported located Monday morning in the 800 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

A subject was reported in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington soliciting customers for money. Officers responded. The subject was advised not to return to the property or she would be arrested.

A caller in the 300 block of North B Avenue in Washington reported Monday afternoon hearing gunshots. Officers responded and spoke with a subject who admitted to shooting BB guns.

A subject reportedly tried bearing into the caller’s son’s bedroom window in the 1000 block of Fifth Street in Wellman Monday night. The subject ran off and dropped a flashlight. The incident was documented.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona reported Monday evening her 8-year-old son was at her father’s residence and she believed her son’s father was intoxicated and fighting with a neighbor. Officers responded. Unfounded.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 500 block of North Second Avenue in Washington reported Monday afternoon her ex boyfriend had some of her belongings and would not return them. Officers responded and retrieved the items.

A possible violation of a no-contact order was reported Monday afternoon in the 700 block of East 15th Street in Washington. The incident is under investigation.
