Arrests

Kolette Christine Daniels, 24, of Washington, was arrested Thursday evening in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on a warrant for fifth-degree theft.

Stony Guy Scott, 49, of Washington, was arrested Thursday evening at North Second and East Sixth Street in Washington for public intoxication.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle reportedly went into a ditch Thursday morning in the 2600 block of Highway 22 in Kalona. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

An accident was reported Thursday afternoon at South Iowa Avenue and West Second Street in Washington. Angela Kron of Ainsworth was cited for failure to yield on entering a through highway.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Thursday evening in the 1900 block of Highway 92 in West Chester. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Thursday night at Spruce Avenue and 290th Street in Crawfordsville. The caller wasn’t injured but was having a panic attack and requested an inhaler or nebulizer. Crawfordsville QRS and Washington County Ambulance responded. No transport.

 

Traffic other

Melanie Beth Tripplett, 18, of Washington, was cited Thursday morning at West Fifth Street and Westview Drive in Washington for driving under suspension. She was also cited for a stop arm violation that was reported Oct. 29.

John Carlton Mangold, 85, of Washington, was cited for a school bus stop arm violation that occurred Oct. 29 at North F Avenue in Washington.

 

Fire calls

A power line was reported down Thursday morning in the 1700 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman and it had caught a ditch on fire. Wellman Fire, officers and Alliant responded. The fire was extinguished.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 400 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington reported Thursday afternoon that her son was the victim of fraud involving his checking account. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 600 block of South Second Avenue in Washington reported Thursday evening that another juvenile had her son’s iPod. Officers responded. There was a miscommunication between the caller’s son and the other juvenile. The juvenile does not have the iPod.

A subject reportedly walked away from a business in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington Thursday night without paying for $18 in gas. The subject left his I.D. at the business. Officers attempted to locate.

 

Intoxicated pedestrian

An intoxicated subject dressed all in camo reportedly approached the caller Thursday evening in the 1100 block of Ginkgo Avenue in West Chester while she was mowing. The subject was upset that the caller was interrupting his bow hunting. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

Animal complaints

A dog was reported Thursday morning in the 800 block of South B Avenue in Washington that did not have any food. The officer fed the dog. The incident was documented.

Two loose dogs were reported Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers contacted the owner. The daughter left the gate open accidentally on her way to school.

A barking dog was reported Thursday afternoon in the 1100 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

A barking dog was reported Thursday evening in the 200 block of 10th Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded. The owner did not answer the door.

A subject was reportedly scratched by a cat in the 90 block of Washington Street in Riverside Thursday night. The animal wasn’t vaccinated. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller in the 400 block of North Chestnut Street in Crawfordsville reported Thursday night that a couple had their vehicle break down and her parents had let them park their camper on their property. They had been living in the caller’s parents’ camper for the past four months and won’t leave. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Thursday morning on a subject in the 1700 block of 140th Street in Wellman. The subject was not at the residence and the caller was advised to contact Johnson County.
