Eric Glen Smith, 28, of Wellman, was arrested Monday evening at walking Trail and Circle Drive in Wellman on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brighton Fire Department was requested Monday night in the 3100 block of 160th Street in Lockridge for a house fire. Brighton Fire responded and assisted.
Physical child abuse
A caller in the 800 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington reported Monday morning witnessing a parent striking a small child in a vehicle while in the drop-off lane at Stewart Elementary. Officers responded. The child was fine and unharmed.
A caller in the 2500 block of Spruce Avenue in Ainsworth reported Monday afternoon that his 13-year-old daughter was fighting with her mother. Officers responded. The juvenile was transported to a relative’s house in Washington.
A caller in the 700 block of East Polk Street in Washington reported Monday evening that her boyfriend had assaulted her friend. The male subject reportedly left the scene and had been drinking. The female subject did not need medical attention. Officers spoke with the male subject, who denied the incident took place.
Hunters were reported Monday morning in the 3300 block of 170th Street in Riverside shooting too closely to the caller’s home. Officers were advised. The DNR will follow up with the caller and the hunters. The incident was documented.
A possible case of fraud was reported Monday afternoon in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. The incident was documented. The caller had applied for a loan online and had to pay a processing fee. He was told he didn’t qualify for the loan and the processing fee was non-refundable.
Suspicious items were reported on a property in the 300 block of East Main Street in Washington Monday afternoon. Officers responded.
All other thefts
A missing bicycle was reported Monday afternoon in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington.
A caller in the 2500 block of Underwood Avenue in Ainsworth reported Monday night that someone had taken $20 out of her purse. The incident was documented.
A caller reported Monday afternoon that two juveniles were throwing rocks off the overpass in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington at her car. Officers located two juveniles who denied throwing rocks and advised they were spitting off the overpass. The juveniles were advised to leave the area.
All other offenses
An officer was requested Monday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington in reference to a possible violation of a no-contact order. Officers spoke with the caller. No violation. The incident was documented.
Family offense non violent
A caller in the 200 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth reported Sunday night that her daughter’s boyfriend and his sister were in an altercation with their mom’s boyfriend. Officers responded. Unfounded.
A caller in the 200 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth reported Monday morning that the son of his girlfriend was out of control. He had pushed the caller and been yelling at his mother. Officers responded. The problem was resolved.
A young subject was reported in the roadway Friday evening in the 20 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington. Officers responded.
A subject reportedly attempted to get into the caller’s vehicle Saturday night in the 300 block of East Main Street in Brighton.
A vehicle was reported sitting at a gas pump Sunday night in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington and had been there for 45 minutes with no one getting out. Officers responded. Subject was on the phone with a friend.

A caller in the 1100 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported Friday afternoon she was at a residence for a home visit and no one would come to the door. Officers responded.
A subject was reported walking northbound Saturday morning in the 2000 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth. Officers were unable to locate.
Three juveniles were reported in the street Saturday evening in the 600 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.
A welfare check was requested Monday morning on a client in the 1100 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded.
